He has been a great dentist but he has closed his office without notifying his patients. I waited an hour outside his office for an appointment WHILE i was receiving notification that I HAD an appointment. no one answered the phone, no response from emergency number. still getting updates for my appointments!! where are my records? who does this to patients?! read more

Do not let Dr Abel rip you off! Not only will he offer you a "better deal" if you pay him cash up front, he will not stand by his work. Do you really want a dentist who says, "if it's not good enough for you I will fix it, but I don't care either way" to correct the mistake that he made. He put veneers on seven of my upper teeth, and also needed to re-place a bridge. The veneers were two shades darker than my bottom teeth, and three shades darker than my bridge. All of this for a "deal" at almost $18,000. My mouth seriously looks worse than when I walked in. Seriously, do not come here. read more

Best Dentist. I feel very confident in his care and would never got o anyone else. A couple of years ago I had an issue with a tooth that was performed by a dentist in Canada, Tooth was really bad. He helped me out a lot and his advice is second to none. read more

My experience with Dr. Abel was financially disastrous. At the beginning of the treatment he asked for and received a five figure deposit for the proposed dental work. I was too naive to ask him for a written treatment plan or any written explanation of what I was going to get for that huge deposit. Although I had never had any prior dealings with him, I trusted him. That was a terrible mistake. After the work began, I thought he was so inept that I had no confidence in his ability to do the complicated job he was hired to do. I fired him and hired a specialist who did a great job. Unfortunately, Dr. Abel kept my entire deposit although he had earned very little of it. He would not give me back a dime and even refused to give me a copy of his records of what he had done so that I could give them to the specialist. (His refusal to give me those records was a violation of the Public Health law.) I was advised by the New York State licensing authorities that they do not get involved in "fee disputes." The only remedy against Dr. Abel is to sue him which is a very unpleasant thing to have to do. The statute of limitations is six years so I have time to make a decision, meanwhile the 9% interest rate for judgments applies. I posted this review about my experience because if I can prevent even one person from having this happen to them, it will be well worth my time and effort. My experience with this dentist was extremely upsetting, I was appalled at his behavior and thousands of dollars poorer for the experience. Caveat emptor. read more

I was very upset and disappointed by Doctor Abel. His attitude toward my dental problem was cold and insensitive. He also becomes offended when you ask him questions. As the patient, I feel that I should have the right to know about why he is suggesting certain things, but apparently, he must feel that you are questioning his ability and doesn't like it. Furthermore, he advertises falsely on his website. He gives the belief that his office is up to date in terms of being equipped with the latest technology, but in reality, his methods and machinery are old and outdated. I will never go back to this doctor. I hope this posting will help to educate those who are looking for a new dentist (as I was), to stay away from this dentist. read more

He is a TERRIBLE, money hungry man! He tried to pressure me into spending over 40k based upon his recommendation. He claimed that all of my teeth were bad and took an excessive amount of X-rays. His website claims he has state of the art technology and uses digital x-rays, but that is false! His x-rays were the old fashioned kind, so he uses cheap outdated machines. Furthermore, when I went to other dentists for a second opinion and showed them a copy of the x-rays he took, they all told me the copies were very hard to read and a few of them said they couldn't even use them. So, I spent a lot of money, for BAD x-rays. Very sneaky of him to make bad copies, so you have to either go to him only as he probably already knows most patients wouldn't want to have new x-rays done all over again! In addition to not being able to use those x-rays, the other dentists I went to gave me a completely different recommendation which didn't require the extreme measures he suggested and a much less expensive approach to saving my teeth. DONT GO TO THIS MAN, HE IS A CROOK! read more

Both dental hygienists are very gentle. It's never painful. Then I had X-rays done. They used a gun he held and it was More precise and lower dosage. The hygienist didn't even need to move away. The Novocain worked well and i barely felt the tooth extraction. Afterwards I got free toothpaste and a toothbrush. I highly recommend Mint Kisco

I saw Dr. Abel for sedation dentistry. I have been afraid of going to the dentist since I was a child due to a bad experience I had. I can not say enough good things about this dentist and the entire team. From my first phone call until my treatment was completed they made me feel comfortable. The care that they gave me was top notch. I had the opportunity to ask questions, and never felt rushed or judged. Totally different than past experiences. One of the things that I have always hated was that little hook instrument that they use to look for cavities. Well, guess what, I didn't have to deal with that. Dr. Abel has the coolest laser cavity detector. It's called a Diagnodent. It's a little laser light that shines on the tooth and can find even the earliest cavity. This is a bonus to me because if it's caught early, it's easier to treat. This laser cavity exam is completely painless and takes about 5 minutes. The other wonderful thing that I had done was an oral cancer screening with a machine called Velscope. My old dentist didn't have this device. It's a special fluorescent light that shows even the earliest signs of something abnormal. Again, a huge bonus. Having recently seen in the news what the actor Michael Douglas is going through with oral cancer, I'm happy to have a dentist with a life saving device like this. And last but not least, I had all of my dental work done while I was asleep. Completely asleep. I woke up and it was done. For someone as afraid as I am, this is WONDERFUL. Thanks so much Dr. Abel. By the way, my wife is now seeing Dr. Abel and so are my children. The entire Banks family would highly recommend Westchester Dental Care and Dr. Abel to anyone looking for a great dentist. This is without a doubt the best dentist I have ever been to. I had not been to the dentist in about 5 years. I got referred to Dr. Abel by my medical doctor at the Mount Kisco Medical Group. Dr. Abel treats him and his family too. ( and apparently many of the other docs choose him). Anyway, I am just now finishing up my care with Dr. Abel. My smile looks amazing. Before I would try to avoid social situations because I was actually embarrassed by how awful my teeth looked. Now I can smile again and they look fantastic. They actually feel good too, and now I have Fresh Breath as well. That is something that I have not had for years and that really embarrassed me to. But this terrific office never judged me. They just took really good care of me. All of the girls who work here are terrific too! They go out of their way to make you comfortable. They have a cool little coffee brewer in the office and even offer to make my coffee for me at every visit. I'm so glad that I found this office and took that first step and got my treatment started. Now in what seems like no time at all, I can smile again and have a lot more confidence. This was an amazing office. The staff was great and the doctor really gets it. I have always hated my teeth. Dr. Abel did Invisalign for me to straighten out my lower crowded teeth. We then did Lumineers on the top 10 teeth. I now have a PERFECT smile, and I love it. Thanks so much Dr. Abel. I can finally feel good about myself. What an amazing experience I had in this office. First of all, Dr. Abel took about 30 minutes just to talk to me and get to know me. I then had the most thorough exam I've ever had. They have really cool technology that I have not seen before. All quick and painless too! Erica cleaned my teeth, and Dr. Abel replaced old veneers. I LOVE my smile now. This is the best dentist I've ever been to. I needed dental implants due to a terrible accident. and Dr. Abel was wonderful. I was never without teeth. Now I can chew and eat what I want, and I am proud of my smile again. At Westchester Dental Care they took really good care of me and I didn't have pain.
