My 12 year old has suffered from debilitating migraines since before she was old enough to even tell me she was in pain. Dr. Steven Dreyer is the finest, most compassionate and is 100% the best chiropractor I have ever been to in my life. I have been to many, but Dr. Dreyer is at the top of his game. I went to his office on Monday suffering from an old football injury in my neck which keeps coming back every couple of years, when I strain myself or when I lift something too heavy or awkward. I moved a new 50 inch television which was in the box and not very heavy, but I strained myself as I lifted it at a weird angle and woke up not able to move my neck and in excruciating pain in my upper shoulder area, neck, and upper back. Dr. Dreyer did a very detailed and specific diagnosis of my pain and problems. Then, he worked on me for almost one hour. I woke up the next day Tuesday about 50% better better. Today Wednesday I woke up about 75 to 80% back to normal. I had a 4 o'clock appointment today which I definitely wasn't going to miss and he was even able to adjust my neck with no pain and 100% relief. I cannot say enough about Dr. Steven Dryer! The last place I wanted to ever visit was a chiropractor. I was skeptical and frankly afraid of having anything "popped" back into place. Until, I had a rib slip last week! I could literally feel it and after the x-ray confirmed it and I was told my options were to wait and see if it got better on it's own (and it likely wouldn't) or just go fix it, I opted to give the dreaded adjustment a try. I had spent a week with knife-like stabbing pain in my side every time I twisted, coughed or laughed. So I went to the highly recommended Dr. Dreyer. He took his time explaining what was going on and making sure I felt comfortable and answered my million questions. I never felt like he was in a hurry like I often feel when visiting a doctor. After putting heat and some electrical stim on my back, he walked me through the simple, conservative maneuver he would be doing to pop my rib back into place. And then he did it. Seriously miraculous, it took 1 second, I felt no discomfort at all and like magic, my pain was gone. My rib back in. Life was good again. I have been a police officer for 15 years and Dr Dreyer at Newport Spine and Sport may have saved my career. In 2008 I farctured my femur in a motorcycle accident. Every since the accident, I've been sitting and walking around in pain. I forced my HMO doctors to do more x-rays because I knew something had to be wrong. Those x-rays revealed a nonunion fractured hip socket! The HMO doctors that I trusted with my life didn't diagnose, treat or even tell me I had it. To make things even worse, they said it probably wasn't the source of my pain and didn't want to do anything about it. A friend of mine said I should go see Dr. Dreyer at Newport Spine and Sport, so I did. Dr Dreyer was honest with me right up front. He said he thought the fracture might be the problem but was willing to work with me to get a better evaluation. After several visits, he told me he thought the fracture was the originating source of all my pain and recommended that I go see a surgeon who specializes in that kind of fracture outside my HMO's network. That information is probably going to save my career because upon seeing a hip specialist at UCLA, I was told that the fracture was causing my pain and it could be fixed! So off to surgery I go.
