Hip replacement. I only have the best to say about EVERYONE…read more- I really appreciate each staff member at the office and the hospital. I want to acknowledge Laura Rodriguez, PAC - Laura was at the pre-surgery class, helped prep me the morning of the surgery, was there when I woke up from surgery, and has led all the follow-up appointments - super caring person and professional! Dr. Hanson was correct on planning and great on execution. I highly recommend UMC Orthopedic and thank them for helping me get my life back.

I went to see Angela Greenhalgh yesterday and she was the most uncaring and dismissive "doctor"…read moreI've ever seen in my life. It was my first and last time seeing her. She entered the room and didn't even introduce herself so I didn't even know her name for this review until I got my patient paperwork. My primary doctor referred me to Orthopedic & Spine Institute concerned that I have spinal arteritis. I told this to Greenhalgh and she just scoffed and said that I was too young to have such a problem. I'm 41 with quite a few deteriorating illnesses since childhood there is nothing "too young" but my body or condition. She didn't ask about the background of my medical condition or family history. When I told her about the neuropathy in both of my legs she looked at me shocked and said "you had diabetes??" opening my patient file would have shown her that fact, my generational diabetes is the first thing listed in my patient folder. She tried to A1C shame me when I told her my A1C is 7.6 then back tracked when I told her my A1C was 14.8 and I've been working hard to revert my A1C. She told me my problem would go away if I loss weight and exercise. -Again- because she didn't ask me anything about anything she would have known that I work out everyday already and go to Physical Therapy for my frozen shoulder and am already at my target weight goal. I'm already the smallest and most fit me of my life and the back problem came after. She never examined me physically she only looked at the x-rays and she said that it showed that my spine bones are deteriorating but apparently the solution for bone loss is to stop being fat She told me I was too young for back problems at least 4 times and that I just need to lose weight at least 3 times. Complete waste of time and money. I went to see my primary today and told them everything and they're referring me to a pain management specialist and a different orthopedic place. It's too bad because I already go to UMC Orthopedic & Spine Institute to see Dr Iman for my frozen shoulder and he's great. I was really excited to finally be seen about my back problems and just throughly disappointed in Angela Greenhalgh lack of skill and treatment. It just goes to show that one bad apple can ruin a whole tree because I never want to go back to this establishment.

I originally was not happy with this place as it was more towards the pain management side however…read moreI originally saw dr Miao for my elbow and was completely dismissed of the pain I was in. When I called to ask for a second dr they reacted quickly and got me in to see dr amesour. He was AMAZING! He took time, listened to me and helped me that day with a shot of cortisone. For the first time in 5 months I'm pain free! I'm also seeing Dr Perry for my back and he's also an amazing doctor! Also took the time to listen and I'm on a path to getting better. The only department I'd stay away from is pain management. I had an 8:30am appointment and they didn't call until 7:30 that morning to ask where my referral was!?! Made no sense when it was desert orthopedics center that sent me to desert orthopedics pain management because the girl at the front desk was so unwilling to help she just cancelled my appointment.

I feel like this was the best quality of care I have received maybe... ever. Highly recommend. Thank you for caring about your patients, it really shows.
