We only learned that she had lied and refused to communicate & help support our child several months later once we received failing progress reports. We again went to the district. Apparently teachers are allowed to do whatever they want and not honor agreements or 504 plans with no consequences. If you have a child with special needs PLEASE find a different teacher.

Coming from a full Chinese-speaking environment, the transition to an English-speaking classroom could have been challenging--but Ms. June, being bilingual, provided the perfect support. Our daughter was very shy at first, but Ms. June thoughtfully paired her with older, bilingual classmates and helped her adjust with care and patience. In less than half a year, school became her favorite place to be. A one-time delay being treated the same as a chronic issue tells you something about the culture. Other parents may have had a different experience, and I'm sure some children thrive here.
