I have never written a Google review before, and I have never felt so compelled to do so until now…read more I waited several weeks before posting this because I wanted to calm down, be fair, and make sure I was sharing my experience accurately. Unfortunately, my experience with Econo Auto Painting & Body Works in New Port Richey was one of the most stressful and disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had. I paid $600 to have the hood and two doors on my 2010 Scion xB repainted. They only accept cash and for a repair of this size, I expected a more professional process and clear documentation. Before approving the work, I specifically asked the manager, Justin, whether the repairs would improve the overall appearance of my car. I was relying on his professional opinion and trusted his recommendation about whether this would be a worthwhile investment. What was not explained to me beforehand was that other areas of my vehicle had existing clear coat issues that would affect the overall appearance after the repair. Had I been told that repainting only these areas would still leave the car with a mismatched appearance, I would have reconsidered spending the money. From the moment I picked up my car, problems began. The hood had visible defects and had to be repainted multiple times. One of the doors also had to be repainted more than once. Although the shop states they honor their warranty until the work is done right, my experience was that every return visit resulted in another issue that was just as bad or worse than the one I originally brought the car in for. During the repair process, my driver's side mirror was broken while my vehicle was in the shop. When I reported it, Justin told me it had already been cracked underneath the base. I disagreed because the mirror had never been loose, damaged, or hanging before I brought my car in. I asked the shop to review their security camera footage to determine what happened and to verify the claim that I had damaged it myself. To my knowledge, no camera footage was ever reviewed or shown to me. Instead, I was told an employee claimed they saw me leaning on the mirror, which I completely dispute. I repeatedly asked to speak with the owner but was never given that opportunity. The shop eventually agreed to replace the mirror, but the first replacement they obtained was used, the wrong color, and had faded trim, causing even more delays. After multiple visits and attempts to correct the issues, I later discovered additional damage that was not present when I dropped my car off, including scratches and chips on another panel and a gouge inside the freshly painted door panel. I have photographs documenting these issues. I understand mistakes can happen, but what was most disappointing was how poor the quality of workmanship is and how difficult it was to get my concerns acknowledged and corrected. What should have been a straightforward paint repair turned into months of stress, repeated trips, and frustration. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!
