I asked the barber for a fade from a 1 (that's 1/8 an inch). Looks like instead, we shaved the sides and back without changing the guard once. There was no edge-work and the general shape of my hair was very inconsistent and poor. I want to be clear that I did not ask specifically for the barber to edge me up, but this should be expected of a fade. Under different circumstances, I would have told my barber to fix a bad edge job (for instance, above my ears), but I could tell we were uncomfortable with both fading and cutting curly hair, so I cut my losses and paid for the cut. Let the pictures speak for themselves. It would be different if this were a women's salon or a Supercuts or something, but if "barbershop" is in the name you should know how to do a fade. Again, I wish these barbers the best and I really hope they will put forth the effort to learn to do common haircuts consistently. Perhaps this cut was a fluke, but it was bad enough to scare me away for good.

It's an old style barber shop where people go to hear the news. Mr Jim Taylor has a vacuum system on his hair trimmer to get rid of the loose hair. He also does a fine job on a beard as well. He's a military veteran and a real Christian man who loves God and Country. You need to try it out and see for yourself. His haircuts are $14.
