Due to the constant rain, our plants began to look like Jack and the Beanstalk. Green Topps came to our house in May and did all of the trimming and cutting. Our landscaping looked fantastic. Brendan Duffy, came to our house again and we scheduled for August. Brendan is great, very knowledgeable, professional and personable. He is a wonderful resource and very responsive to questions and emails. Today they sent a crew headed up by Chris, with Juan and Sergio. Chris takes the time to listen and is very professional. I have plants that are extremely sentimental to me (they were originally grown by my mother over 70 years ago) I spoke to Chris about these plants and he and the crew were very careful not to cut them. Chris, Juan and Sergio worked incredibly hard and removed all of the debris. A special shout out to Juan. When the crew was done, we walked around the property. We noticed that the reeds by the seawall still needed to be cut. Juan immediately said he was going to get the clippers and he took down the reeds. As tired as he must have been, Juan went the extra mile for us. Chris, Juan and Sergio are very professional and really know what they are doing. Prior to the scheduled date, Green Topps has a utility company come and mark where the underground cables are to avoid any potential damage. I can't recall any other landscape company doing that. You cannot find a better company than Green Topps to transform plants and trees that have gone completely out of control due to all the rain, into a gorgeous, manicured landscape.

They claim to be Aborists but it is almost as if they have no training on how to trim a "palm tree"…read moreat all. Granted they worked hard, but the owrkers do not know any better. It looks like some amatuers came through and over trimmed an entire neighborhood and left just a few palms standing up on top of each palm tree, which any aborist will tell you is not good. Palm trees are different from Deciduous and Coniferous trees. Older fronds provide nutrients as they go to yellow then brown. When trimming, you are to leave anything at or above 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock alone. Not only do these older fronds continue to provide sustenance for the new fronds, but as they wilt, they pull the base of the frond away from the tree, creating space for the tree to expand and grow as thick as the stump below it. By ridiculously over cutting, these palms are now "growth interrupted", and will never grow out properly. The tree is not going to get much taller, and any additional height will be string bean thin at the top. Now most people giving good reviews have no idea how palms grow and are just happy they will not have to deal with the palms for a few years, because it has been so over trimmed! They are conditioned to see these over trimmed palms as "neatly trimmed" when actually the growth is being permanantly stunted, and the top of the tree will stay thin, because cutting the young fronds to soon stops the expansion and strangles the neck of the tree. Normal trees will grow back if you cut below the "branches and leaves line". Did you know if you cut the top leaves completely off of any palm tree, it dies.....we all see a very tall stump on occasion....it is from over cutting.

Even doing a great job with cleanup! HOWEVER!!! We wanted a section of our front yard to be set up ( ground prepared , small plants put in .. install a weed preventer ... he gave me a quote for $2,000 ... The area was meant to be a small Memorial garden to honor my daughter and brother who had recently died . Justin arrived on time with his crew and a machine to turn the soil. I was so happy to get this done as I was grieving for my family members and thought the little garden would help a bit. They worked exactly 2 and a half hours and he even hired my neighbor to work with him! I was so pleased . Then he had to leave to finish up another job but promised to continue my job the next day. I happily gave him the entire $2,000 in cash And he paid my hardworking neighbor $50 in cash ( 2 and 1/2 hours at $20 per hour) . She will be happy to verify this plus other people who were there. THAT AFTERNOON as he was completing another job he was hurt in a serious accident caused by one of his big machines. His very nice father called me from the hospital saying that HE would come out to complete our job. We trusted Justin so I told his father that we would wait until he was healed . Later I sent several get well cards and he called to say his injured leg had some problem healing . OK. WE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN! Over the past two plus years many people called him on my behalf. He denied receiving the $2,000 and claimed he had only worked at our home about an hour . He refused to admit that he owes us that amount. Out of the $2,000 he did pay my neighbor $50 in cash . She was very pleased as he paid her exactly what she earned . We have called and written him so many times only to go unanswered or he claims he only owes us $1,000. I am shocked at his behaviour because we REALLY liked him and his work . He claims everything differently and denies he owes us anything . One time he said he wasn't at our home that long but the cash he paid our neighbor confirms the 2 /12 hours . We never saw or heard from him again . He has not refunded a penny . Since then my husband almost died from congestive heart failure . We both have diabetes , and I have MS, lupus , heart failure , and many surgeries for serious health problems so we can not do this job ourselves . I am 78 years old . Because of these health problems we cannot afford to pay another tree service to do it. I already paid Justin $2,000 CASH to do what I knew WOULD BE an excellent job IF he ever came back to DO it.

I was hoping to work with this company for a very simple job, but they rescheduled on me TWICE on…read moretwo different Fridays at the last minute! I saved my time for them and waited around for a 3-hour window - TWICE, and they showed no courtesy--not an ounce of it. They may be good at their work, but customer service is critical. My time is as valuable as theirs, and they should show some courtesy. Instead, I get a last-minute text as I wait for them, saying, "Sorry, we have another job. We'll come on this date instead." Not once, but twice! The first time, I let it slide, and the second time, I post a review to warn other potential customers. I'm hunting for another tree service. I'd suggest you consider doing the same if your time is valuable.

Update: They stated that the breaking of the faucet was because it wasn't up to code. They said it was supposed to be copper pipe connecting it.
