Steve is a no-nonsense, straightforward guy that will solve any tree issue large or small. He knows the business well after 30+ years and will work you into his schedule if it's an emergency. He has a crack staff that can be assembled in hours, even on weekends to accommodate any emergency. How do I know? I had a 60-70 ft tree about 15 feet from my house near several power lines. The trunk rapidly split down the middle. And of-course it had to happen on a Saturday morning so it was after hours. Steve made my problem his priority after calling him. He quoted, rallied his crew, and had it on the ground, cut up, shredded, and cleaned up within SIX hours !!! That was the most impressive feat I've seen for any contractor I hired. I submitted an RFQ online and got a call within a few hours to review my specific needs. Aaron, the team lead, came out to my house to do an estimate and talked me through the plan. We have some very dense and overgrown landscaping that was giving me anxiety! The crew came in within a week and absolutely crushed it! They took their time and made sure to trim only what was necessary. They even went above and beyond by offering to prune some extra bushes that were NOT in the original plan and finish cutting down an old dead willow tree that I had started to take down myself. We had a 100 yr old plus maple tree that had more than worn out its welcome. Steve's was highly recommended by our landscaper and I know why! Received a quote today. The price was fine but my boyfriend was upset because he told me that Aaron asked him a few times if we could afford it. Sure we live in a poor area but can we be a bit more tactful if there is concern about payment? Money is no issue and I am not happy this is how we were be treated. I wasn't very pleased with the unprofessionalism this company displayed. I filled out a free quote request online and one of their employees just showed up to my house over a week later with no notice at all. Didn't even come knock on the door, just walked to the backyard. Came with an unmarked sedan. Pretty overpriced to take a pile a brush too. The employee had a pretty bad attitude as well. Steve's Toledo Tree Service ("Steve") did a phenomenal job removing a dying massive oak tree in a difficult to access location. Steve was quick to respond to our request for a proposal and followed up promptly with all necessary paperwork. Steve worked with us to accommodate our specific schedule. Communication was always prompt, straightforward and Steve did everything exactly as promised. The crew and equipment arrived on time as promised, took down the tree with incredible precision, hauled everything away and left the job site in perfect condition. The entire team was very careful near other trees, shrubs and landscape lighting making sure that nothing was damaged while taking down a very large tree. It was an efficient and well orchestrated operation. From the initial meeting to the final clean up Steve was excellent. What a great overall experience! Does not practice or seem to understand COVID precautions. Total disappointment based on the high reviews. Aaron came for an estimate. I waited 5 minutes for him to exit his truck while he was on the phone. He did a cursory inspection of my tree where I had to point out the rot for him. He was maskless, did not offer to wear one, and refused to keep his distance from me. He gaslighted me when he said I was "fine" while I backed away from him. Then he walked to his truck. From the door he said he had "like ten thousand more estimates with deposits" then got into his truck, sat in my driveway for another five minutes, and left. read more
