We got to chat with them for a little bit and that was nice to learn. They have tons of wonderful wines from around the world here (even some from Virginia....wtf?) and my husband and I were able to satisfy our wine snobbery even in the outer reaches of downeast Maine during our stay thanks to these guys. They have a lovely Spanish grenache as well as a crisp Pouilly-Fuisse that we pretty much lived off of. In addition, they have lots of excellent specialty cheeses to offer, and will give you samples to try while you shop. Prices are basically what we're used to for California (the previous reviewer mentioned that they're probably a little steep for Machias and I'd have to agree) but definitely worth it when the next best shit in town is the Bogle available at Hannaford.

The d'affinois was smooth like a Donna summer record and the moliterno tasted as if I were there in Sardinia licking lapping at the ocean waves. Batting two out of two makes me wonder what else is lurking in the case, or did I just get unlucky? I'll give them a call and I'll return for sure. Again I stress EXCELLENT selection wonderful employees. But until they work out product dating and storage, I suggest you might ask to sample the cheeses before purchasing (just in case!) and committing-- even one you've had before. Cheeses vary through out the year and the seller importer and purveyor depending on how and how long they're stored/transported. Now here's the best part. I called them and they immediately offered a refund taking my word for this even after I offered to bring in the product to show. Woman on the phone was super sweet.
