My husband and I stopped here for diesel fuel with our motorhome because of a favorable price. While pleased with the price, compared to other fuel stops, we were far less than pleased with that traffic flow for trucks and RVs of our size. He entered where the sign said, Truck Entrance, avoiding the other lane past the fueling lanes where we saw an 18 wheeler trying to back up, scraping his fender on the light post in the process. Once we entered the "truck entrance" the fueling lanes greeted us with signage facing us stating "WRONG WAY" which was perplexing since we used the "Truck Entrance" and followed the yellow arrow on the blacktop. It was confusing as the arrow and signage directed us in only to be facing wrong way signs at the pumps. That signage was clear. Once my husband used the McDonald's lot to get back to this lot to correctly be facing for fueling the screen at the pumps did not scan. He had to go inside. There is no signage stating such. Another customer at the pump, another motorhome, had had the same experience. I will say, however, the fueling area did appear much better maintained than many we've encountered, but that lack of clear signage for traffic flow, especially given the size of the vehicles using the diesel fuel, truly needs to be rethought.

This chain has no affiliation with the line of sodas/root beer OR the burger purveyor we see in NJ that originated from the Midwest. Stewart's got its start as many legendary C-stores (such as Wawa): they sold milk and other dairy stuff with a model of vertical integration that ensured low prices and great quality. To this day, they have a "milk club" open to all. After 10 punches of the card, you get a free half gallon of milk or a gallon at 1/2 price. Too bad I don't drink milk. With the passage of time, especially "in these times," the low prices may not always hold true. For example, A bag of Doritos was $5.60, and an 18 pack of Labatt Blue (I like it better than Molson Canadian) was...$18. Neither of these items were purchased. Even the formerly local "pride of the neighborhood" Freihofer's cookies were "discounted" by a measly $1, when they're often BOGO. Still, they had a couple of local beers that caught my eye and I grabbed 2 tall boys for later imbibing. One was brewed in my former home of 6 years- Schenectady, NY. Another came from nearby Vermont. Those and a couple good sized bottles of delicious polar seltzer ran $10. Not awful I guess. They sell pizza for around $2.60 a slice. It didn't look great but I'm sure it's edible. Buttered rolls, peanut buttered rolls, apple fritters, and some other baked goods were up front. Coffee selection is usually decent and on par with the diner stuff- you decide if that's a good or bad thing. Camping supplies such as firewood and s'more kits were there just in time for summer. Come winter, the snow shovels and ice scrapers move in. There are a couple of tables to sit if you want to enjoy your beverage or snack outside of the car. They do sell ice cream and shakes made to order that the locals love. The middle of the store has a very respectable freezer area with ice cream, pizza, TV dinners and the like. Their half gallons of ice cream are very good. Not sure if they're still there size or if they've been "shrinkflated." The restroom was clean! The clerk was friendly- even greeting me on entry and offering a paper bag for my goodies. They are known for treating employees well with stock options and an Adirondack condo that staff can sign up to use. So why not 5 stars? The prices weren't the greatest, the beer selection was limited (but the local stuff is appreciated), and the parking lot is a little wonky in layout. That said, Stewart's are around from the NY/Quebec border down to Orange County, NY and also in Rutland and Bennington Counties in VT. I used to have one at the end of my block in Schenectady and was reminded today of why I miss it sometimes, especially compared to the QuickCheck that's next door to us these days. Stop by one when you can. Perhaps you too will be inspired to write about vertical integration at 10:30 on a Monday night.

We stopped by this location around dinner time. I got an Oboy, chicken and cheese wrap, and Stewarts lemondade. I didnt know what an Oboy was and it's a Saratoga Springs thing so I wanted it. It tasted nice. I liked the pizza dough bread but the chicken and stuff inside tasted a little too mushy. The chicken and cheese wrap was ok. Chicken is really breaded. I slabbed bbq sauce all over so it tasted better. Stewart's lemonade was a bit watery. It says its 14% juice but I wasnt sure about that. After eating everything, I saw the ice cream menu to the side of the cashier. I decided on a milkshake and got the cherry chocolate limited flavor. Almost immediate regret. I should've gotten the extra thick one. The milkshake was really milky like milk with ice cream, not ice cream with milk. My friends knew but didn't tell me. Shoulda known they'd do something like this.... If I ever see another Stewart's, I'd like to go. But I dont see a lot of Stewart's when I travel so I'll have to be on the lookout.

I stood there for almost ten minutes, not so much because of the tickets, but because the cashier (couldn't quite see the tag but an older woman, Sherry maybe?) was BSing with the woman buying the tickets. I learned more about the two of them then I wanted to. I'm almost 6 feet tall so I know I wasn't invisible. Apparently they had to catch up on old times. The manager had to tell the other cashier to get on her register to help me after ten minutes. If I didn't need to pay for the gas I would have put the drink back and left. I think maybe your cashier needs to be told that if she wants to BS with friends to do that on her break.

There is a fairly large convenience mart at this one. This station, like other Speedways locally, is now listing 2 different fuel prices, depending on whether or not you have obtained a Speedway charge card (which I'm not using). I think that required them to change either their credit card/chip readers, or the software supporting them, and it's not working well. Whenever I've purchased gas at any station - including this one - offering that discount, my "other" credit card is not read the first time, and about half the time on subsequent attempts. It usually takes me about 3 tries at any given pump to get the credit card recognized.

It's the best gas station in the history of gas stations. It's like a freaking palace of petroleum. It's so clean, they have a roller grill with the most amazing food ever I don't know what they are called but those rolly things are so good. They have jalapeño cream cheese ones, and taco queso ones, and they're so good! And guess what? You can pay for them with your credit card. That's right, this Speedway accepts credit cards as well as cash for everything. Even scratch off tickets. You can buy a scratch off ticket with your credit card, and win a million dollars, and then buy more Rolley things. It's fantastic . They have everything you need. And the gas is so cheap I think it's the best deal in town. This Speedway is the best thing that ever happened to me. I would give it six stars if I could.
