The sense of community, strong emphasis on being a good kind person, small class size and importance placed on outdoor learning had our attention. We went for a tour and were welcomed with open arms. In a city like Toronto and the large class sizes in our public schools with so much attention in "checking" boxes and treating all children the same we were very happy and impressed with the culture and principles practised at Olivet. I'm also scheduled for the seventh. Why do I keep returning? Because Julie provides a kind, engaging, and inclusive environment at each retreat that makes it easy for new participants to blend in and for repeat participants to learn something new each time we return. Julie is not only an attentive, technically skilled instructor, but she is a wonderful human being who works incredibly hard to ensure that each participant feels comfortable and valued. In each workshop session, she gives us guidance and writing prompts that stimulate the imagination and challenge us to approach writing in varied ways. We have opportunities to share our writing, then receive feedback. Julie arranges optional excursions that help us to build group rapport and have fun, too! I've attended Julie's retreats in all three locations. Although each location is beautiful and quite different from the others, I highly recommend any one of them as a way to learn and sharpen your writing skills. The teachers have been teaching there for years and the head teacher, Maria, is the calmest, most methodical and caring person I know. She really gets to know the children and truly cares about them. She runs the program just in the mornings, and it's clearly a labor of love for her. I opted for this program for my child 2 days a week because it's a place where kids can come and be messy and creative - so rare in preschools nowadays. It complemented well my child's other more "academically" oriented preschool. Both of my children loved Artful Child, and they now have a large portfolio of their respective 18''x 24'' paintings, head-dresses, masks, and sculptures.

AficionAuto provided a calm, casual environment that allowed me to learn everything I needed within a relatively short period of time. Dave was patient and extremely knowledgeable about what's needed to pass the road test (which I did on the first try). He picked up on all of my issues, noticed every mistake, and worked with me constructively to fix them.
