Each has clear communication before and during the treatment, and also communicate well between staff so there is good continuity. The therapists are also great at suggesting colleagues if I want to change things up for a different approach; the teamwork approach is appreciated! I checked out the floating pool, which is cool in some ways, and not in others.... For instance, I got a lot of salt in my eyes, and the water spray fell out of the tub because I couldn't see well and then my body ached to lean over the edge and get it. And actually an hour is too long.! And the price is not really worth it! I've decided a hot tub is a better deal and much more relaxing. I have nothing but good things to say about Still Life! I was drawn here because of the sensory deprivation tanks. I have gone several times. It feels very healthy to give your senses a break. And when you are done you feel refreshed! There are even some great details that shows the owners are here to give a five star experience. For example, when you're inside the tank there's a face cloth available if you accidentally touch your face since the salt water can irritate your face. They also offer massage. I've been a handful of times over the years. Each massage therapist I've met there is very skilled. At the beginning when you tell them what bothers you, they ask very specific questions to tune into the source of the problem. To me this shows they are skilled at their trade and they care about the client. The owners are also very kind people. Because I've been in several times they know me and my wife by name. It give a sense of community. If you have the chance to go here, go for a massage and float (or float and massage if you prefer that order). It is a wonderful experience! read more

I've been eyeing Still Life Massage & Float since arriving to Bellingham three years ago. I finally made it! Float therapy was an intriguing idea; always interested in having new experiences. I booked a session for myself and my boyfriend as a way to say good riddance to 2020. Online scheduling was easy and straight forward. I received good communication regarding infection control and the float process. The facility is clean and attractive, the staff friendly, and infection control enforced. Masks are required, provided if you should forget. In regards to the actual float therapy session...not my "thing". I have a difficult time relaxing, became a little disoriented, and then felt slightly nauseous. I spent a portion of my session seated upright in the pod for fear that I may vomit. :/ My boyfriend enjoyed the experience, felt that it was "weird" but relaxing. He tells me that he'd definitely bring out of town guests to experience float therapy. My experience is NOT a reflection of the business or service. Still Life is great. I'll be back on another day for a massage. Tip: If you're overly sensitive to motion and/or claustrophobic, maybe just stick with a massage. :) read more

I wasn't sure about getting a massage during a pandemic but everyone at the office was scrupulous about safety. Both the massage therapist and I wore a mask during the massage. Everyone tried to keep 6 ft distance as much as possible. I thought everyone was very courteous and friendly. Spencer, the massage therapist, was great. He was respectful and interested in my experience. I was having some trouble breathing with my homemade mask on in the face cradle so Spencer got me a blue surgical mask and it was much better. Despite a bit of anxiety, it was such a good experience that I returned for another massage from Spencer. But, since they moved into the new space and added float chambers, I have been in heaven, after a couple of floats I have to say they are amazing. We could not have chosen a better place for our first float experience. The two of us were nervous and did not know what to expect. We arrived early for our appointment and watched an overview video, which took about 5 minutes. It showed you exactly what would happen and what to do. It was very helpful and decreased our nervousness a little. After we signed the waivers, a kind, easy going woman showed us the rooms and asked us if we had any further questions. Then she just left us to it! The rooms and float pods are immaculate. In the shower, there is body wash in a dispenser and shampoo. They also provide you with towels, ear plugs, and make up removing wipes to prep for the float. Again, the video gives you the whole process so you know exactly what to do and what to expect. They make it incredibly easy, but the beauty of it mainly being in how unintrusive it is. You are not waiting on anyone and you can do it all at your own pace. One of the biggest decisions that I would advise on is the decision to wear bathing suits or not while we floated. Although we had serious apprehensions about it, we did not wear one. A friend had strongly recommended you wear nothing and she was definitely right. It definitely would have been distracting. It took me a good 20 minutes to get acclimated and get over my first time anxieties and worries. After that, it was just amazing. Float therapy had never really been on my list of things to do and I was a little skeptical, but I am fully converted now. My self care indulgence is usually a massage every few months. The benefits and the feeling I got after 60 minutes of floating surpasses every massage I have ever gotten (which, in fairness, is maybe 5). The rest of the night, we both felt so amazing and just could not stop talking about it. Your skin glows, you feel so relaxed, and it even made our hair amazing! We both agreed that 60 minutes is a good amount of time for your first time. In the beginning it seemed to go slow because I needed time for my brain to turn off, but after I felt fully at ease the rest of the hour flew by. You are all by yourself and you know that your time is up when the nice relaxing music comes on in the pod. Then you get out, shower, and get dressed. I felt so relaxed and part of it was not having someone knocking on the door or trying to rush you out. There is a spacious bathroom at the end of the hallway with a hair dryer if you need to get dressed and ready for the next part of your day. They encourage you to sit in the chairs by the window looking out on the water to reflect. An all out amazing experience that I highly recommend giving a try! read more

I don't even know where to begin describing how amazing an experience floating at Still Life was. I am three months post partum and I wish I had known about floating sooner because in one short hour, all of the stress from being a new mother just melted away. I took an evening float, which was so nice, I was able to let my husband put the baby to bed while I was floating then come home to have the most restful sleep I've had in a very long time. One interesting side effect that I was not anticipating, is that my milk production has increased dramatically!! If you are a new mother having issues with milk production, take a float!!!!!!! My skin feels amazing, my hair is so shiny! I am a new woman. The facility itself is very nice, very clean, the pods are really inviting, cool and futuristic...looking at other float places whose pods are sorta intimidating and industrial, theirs are a cut above. The rooms are super comfy and nice, spa like, and heated to the perfect temperature. The staff was super friendly and spoke to us like we had been friends forever, both women that we interacted with were just amazing. OMG! I have never had a massage before professionally done in my life and boy was I in for a treat. Nowadays it seems like basic customer service is dwindling and that is clearly not taking place here. At the front desk I was greeted by a very friendly young lady that had me fill out medical information just so they can have an idea of what type of patients are working with which I completely understand and respect it. My masseuse what's Aaron he is phenomenal he did a great job I was beyond satisfied and now I'm going back with my partner and we're both going to get hour-and-a-half massages I just signed up for an hour cuz I just wanted to try it out for the first time but now that I know they are off the charts Stellar I am going back probably at least once a month just to get out the Kinks You Know anyway had a blast I recommend this place to a very one go check them out it'll be worth it! :) read more
