Y'all. This place is amazing. I needed to squish in as many appointments as I could in a few weeks in order to maximize medical benefits with my insurance. In six weeks I managed to receive eleven massages from five different massage therapists. Everyone who was at the front desk was attentive, polite, professional, and warm. Everyone. Even the owners put in time at the front desk. The facility is clean, with clear attention to detail. It feels like there is good energy in the place, especially since the staff all seem to enjoy each other. The temperature was always comfortable, water and hot tea was always available. Each of the three massage rooms are relaxing - two have an abundance of natural light, and one feels like a warm, safe, dimly lit cave (I actually think I liked that one best). The massage table is heated, the linens are all crisp, clean, and snuggly. The music each therapist chose was varied while not being too loud. All five of the therapists from whom I received massages were excellent. Seriously excellent. Two used cupping (whoa, never done that before!), one had huge hands and utilized natural strength, two were particularly intent to listen to my body and tried some techniques that were totally interesting and new to me. Each person was kind, skilled, genuinely present, professional, thoughtful, and intent on helping to bring healing to my neck and shoulder (the area that needed the medical massage). Four of the five entered into dialogue during the massage, and they were very enjoyable to talk with. I learned a lot. And, after the eleven weeks, not only am I better, but I'm so glad to have learned of Still Life Massage. My soul feels like it received considerate, skilled, and kind attention. I am pretty new to floating, I first tried it in Seattle and after my first float I was hooked. When I moved back to Bellingham I was excited to hear of Still Life cause they have two modern float pods. As I am new to floating, I wanted to make sure I try different types of float tanks available, so in Seattle I tried a bigger float tank and then came here to try the pods, and I can honestly say the pods are perfect for my floating experiences. The whole place is well decorated and clean, and the staff is very friendly. I am definitely considering buying a membership with Still Life to continue my float journey. read more

Absolutely love this place and I am constantly recommending it to others. Pretty much changed my life in terms of reducing chronic pain & anxiety. I started getting massages here last November (2018) and have been going ever since. Each massage therapist has been wonderful in their own way. I also HIGHLY recommend incorporating cupping - it has provided 1-2 weeks of no pain each time! I must say that I highly recommend both Lara & Ashley. Lara has taken the time to listen to my needs each session and also provided many resources for pain management, PT, etc. She is truly intuitive and knowledgable. Ashley is also highly intuitive and always seems to find those "spots", even ones I never knew existed. Anyway, if you haven't tried a massage, you are missing out. Had my first float yesterday. Was not really sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. The float itself was incredibly relaxing. I don't think I fell asleep at any time, but I'm pretty sure I entered some sort of hypnotic trance for much of the float. Again, very relaxing experience and I found myself in a dazed/super relaxed state for the entire day. The float room and the pod itself was VERY clean and comfortable and roomy and private. Also, the staff that helped us were very pleasant and helpful. We are looking into getting one of their packages so we can float on a more regular basis. Highest recommendation! read more

Loved my massage! Yvonne is so good at what she does. I got the deep tissue massage and i came out of there feeling almost new. She did some cupping on my shoulders and it felt so relieving although they wer sore for the next 3 days. (in a good way). I had a great experience at Still Life Float. It was my first float, and I wasn't really sure how it would go. Everyone there was great. Started with a nice video on what to expect. Then I was led into one of the float rooms. It was beautiful, very spa like. So clean! The room had its own shower, the towels were lively, every need was met. The float itself was amazing. I was able to leave the low light on, or be totally in the dark, and did not feel at all claustrophobic. I felt so great and relaxed after, sitting in the lounge chairs enjoying the beautiful marina view. read more

I had my initial appointment here at my doctor's recommendation as I have a great deal of pain. My initial impression was very positive and it became only more so. The staff was very welcoming and all seemed truly focused on making me comfortable. The facility is very nice and scrupulously clean. I have a marvelous massage from Lara, whom I had selected from the online bios on the website. She is so intuitive about the sources of pain, and was incredibly effective in identifying and dispelling each one, explaining as she went and always making the sure the level of pressure was comfortable. She is highly experienced and I have never had a massage that benefitted me so much. We set up a long-range plan. I decided I wanted to start working with her twice a week in the beginning, and will always go twice a month at minimum to keep the pain under control. I found this to be more effective in dealing with my pain than muscle relaxants or pain medications. I did not try floating, but likely will in the future. I also will begin at home with epsom salts soaking, knowing now that the magnesium can calm pain as well. Overall, it was a highly satisfactory experience. read more

One day, after a particularly heinous workout, I found myself extra sore and stiff from all those gainz I've been making at the gym. I said SCREW IT. I want to get a nice massage because I'm tired of walking around feeling like the Terminator. Cue to me making a phone call to Still Life on a Thursday and booking an appointment two days later for Saturday afternoon. Saturday, I walk in, and am immediately greeted by a warm and friendly woman at the front desk. Filled out my paperwork and was brought back as soon as I finished. Comfy table, low lights, and calming music? GTFOH, I'm stoked. Richard was my massage therapist - he was professional, attentive, and I walked out feeling great. My primary issues revolved around upper back and shoulder mobility, and some very slight pain from sciatica in my right hip. I absolutely love Still Life Massage and Float! The space they are in is amazing and the staff is superb! If you haven't ever done a float, try it!!! It's so relaxing and it truly gives your body and mind a chance to relax and turn off for an hour. When you come out you feel like you're in a different world. I did a 60 minute float here a couple of months ago, and really enjoyed the whole experience. Yesterday I did a 90 minute float, which was even better! I love that they give the customers control over they experience - deciding if/when to turn off the lights in the tank, whether to have some quiet, relaxing music at the beginning or not, and provide great showers, towels, ear plugs and even ear rinse for after! My first float years ago was in Seattle and turned into at 90 minute session when the facility facilitator forgot I was there, and frankly, I loved it! It took be a while to settle in this time, but when the quiet music started to signal it was time to get up and out, I was in a very deep state of relaxation and comfort! I was alert immediately, feeling refreshed, with all tension relieved in my body. I look forward to my next float, which will definitely be another 90 minute session! read more

For more than a year I've been a client of Still Life Massage. Tess is my masseuse. She is tremendously knowledgeable in deep tissue work and effective in other types of massage as well. Still Life just installed float tanks. Curious, I checked them out. The experience was similar to floating in the saline Dead Sea in Israel. Very peaceful for the mind and healing to the body. I was just recently at the Still Spa for a float. It was amazing and relaxing....... Until later that evening I got extremely sick. I now have a terrible sinus infection and a double ear infection with puss behind the ear drums. I recommend they have an option to keep your head a float and they require ear plugs. Yesterday, I experienced a 1 hour float and a 1 hour massage at Still Life Massage and Float. My first time floating ended up being an opportunity to move through some latent claustrophobia and anxiety issues (although that wasn't my intent when I made the appointment). I made some progress but I'm probably not the right person for this type of immersive and enclosed meditative experience. I don't know, I may try it again when I have the funds because my overall experience at this establishment was wonderful. The facility is clean, modern, airy and light, and the owners/staff are 100% present and helpful.
