From the moment you walk in everyone is pleasant and happy to be there. I was very fortunate because it was Wednesday Maria was there to help me fumble my way through things. She even went above and beyond by 1) staying past her scheduled time & 2) when she really needed to go she made a little sample for me to follow with written instructions. I did not get the gentleman's name that was there but he was wonderful also. I am looking forward to the winter months for some of their classes as they do quilting classes and that is always something I've wanted to learn. As soon as I got back to my friend's house, I realized that I needed a size 2, not the size 5 that I bought. My friend told me she'd return them for me since we were leaving for Virginia the next morning. Well, it didn't matter anyway. I really wish I had known that needles are not returnable when I bought them because the return was refused. I see now that it is clearly stated on the website under FAQs that needles are not returnable. Too bad I can't use them. Actually, I have been knitting for 44 years and this is the first time I've heard of this policy at a knit shop although there are probably some shops that do this...just not any of the ones at which I shop. So, whatever you are buying here, do be sure that you are getting exactly what you need, or you may end up, as I did, with something you don't need.

Upon entering with our service dog, the owner informed us that dogs weren't allowed, leading me to leave while my partner continued shopping. Subsequently, the owner criticized our ability to read, citing a small, inconspicuous sign on the door. Note to management: If you want a no-dog policy, a microscopic sign in white on grey won't cut it. Perhaps a more conspicuous sign would save future customers from the vision test. But there was a specific fabric I couldn't find at Ehrlich's so I had to go looking for another source. Mila had MUCH more fabric on hand. They also have a lot of fabric you can order - about the same amount as Ehrlich's, but different kinds. After spending months (literally) trying to find a specific fabric at Ehrlich's, Jo Anne's, etc, I found it in 15 minutes at Mila. The only downside to Mila is that the owner (I presume) lacks social grace and customer service skills. I found him to be pushy and incredibly condescending (and not just to me). I also had the distinct feeling he was rushing me and trying to avoid having to place a custom order. He's the type, you know, who is always right and you're an idiot. I hate those types! I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the owner. If you're looking for a robust alternative to your usual fabric/upholstery place, try Mila, but try to work with one of the women.
