The store is impeccably cleaned, stocked well, and has a nearly perfect layout. The selection is excellent, and they even offer the complimentary service of shipping an item to your home if the location is out of stock but the item is available elsewhere. The quality of every item I tried on was exceptional. Even if it weren't for the Saleperson being so wonderful I would have upsold myself (speaking of, every upsell attempt was done professionally and subtly, with not one ounce of pressure and only for items I showed interest in). What sold me to keep shopping after I tried on the first item was that the fit and look of items on smaller-built customers was the same fit and look I had as a larger gent. Even with all that awesome, the service I received is what I appreciated most. I purposefully pull a Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman' dressed down thing when I go shopping so I can make sure I don't give my money to businesses who negatively profile shoppers. I received the exact same welcome as shoppers who were dressed more in line with the items Johnston & Murphy carries. I also never felt "plus size judgment", and even benefited from the Saleperson's keen eye: she could tell at a glance what my size was and what would fit me well. I felt welcomed and respected at every point throughout my shopping experience. Clearly, I am a fan and hope people will stop in when they visit The Outlets or check out their local J&M store. The shop expanded in early 2021 into previously vacant space and now has a new external entrance. Essentially, they moved all the comics and toys into the new space, and converted the old space into a gaming area. This expansion led to the closing of JAF's second location at the Palmer Park Mall, which had quietly become a standout shop for its new pull selection and $1 book bins. The shop has a good selection of new comic books and graphic novels. They have a fair selection of wall books and collectables. Longbox selection wildly varies. While they do have many, the cheaper boxes are located on the floor, making them hard to comfortably access. I wasn't here for the selection of gaming items, so I can't comment on that part of JAF. Staff have been a strong part of JAF, generally being friendly and helpful. JAF for me is challenging to rate, as the "main" store has always been a little average compared to other local shops. It's worth a stop to browse if in the area but going out of the way to come here would be a question. Overall, JAF is a 3.5, but rounding it up to a 4.
