The service was slow, it was my husband's birthday and I don't feel like our waiter was trying to make it special, thankfully the manager stepped in and turned things around. The food was good, but I felt like no matter where I went in London the steaks were always underwhelming. I really feel like stk should revamp their dessert menus, literally nothing was good on there and even the waiter advised the same so that was also very disappointing. If the prices are any indication, i would have thought that people would dress better at this restaurant. It looked like people were dressed to go to a pub. One guy had on a "wife beater" shirt. The place is extreamky loud, with a combination of very load music and everybody trying to talk over the music. I ordered the filet & lobster. I had asked for the filet to be cooked between medium and med rare. It was well done. Never expected for a restaurant of this caliber to ruin a steak. The server handled it very well. She brought me a new one, gave me a free cocktail and brought fresh sides so they wouldn't be cold when the steak arrived. The food was good. I've had better. The staff were very professional. Honey and I popped on over to London for our anniversary and decided to have anniversary dinner at STK. Sunday early evening, it wasn't difficult getting a table. Ambiance is lovely - music was a tad bit loud but upbeat, and honey was singing right along so not too bad. Our waiter was outstanding, great personality, and made some good suggestion on food and wine. So the bread they bring to the table was warm and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! No butter needed really - but if you must, you can try one of their signatures truffle butter, Lobster butter, wagyu butter, or garlic butter. I love everything truffle lol So to eat - Crispy calamari with Padron peppers and roasted garlic & lime aoili was delicious! Beef tataki was also tasty. My main course was the ribeye with peppercorn sauce and a tomato salad. My boyfriend had the Wagyu. Steaks were cooked to perfect temp and seasonings were on point. Everything was delicious! Truly a disappointment. The prices they charge and the food being as mediocre as it was should be a crime. We were all so excited as we had heard of STK and the name it carries. All of the food looked pretty but it all lacked flavor. I was so excited for my roast beef dinner, the options for it were rare or well done. I chose rare and while there is some pink..it was not really rare. The craziest thing was that the place was packed! The ambiance was like a club, loud music, dim lighting, chaotic. So sad about my negative London experience, after enjoying STK Steakhouse in NYC, I wanted to take friends to the London STK Steakhouse. Sunday at 8pm, with the restaurant half empty, we were turned away and told that we would need to wait an hour to be seated. I checked online and I was able to set up a reservation for 4 at 8:15pm available. We went somewhere else because of the snobish hostess. Dark empty space with poor service and hidden steps. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table at a nearly deserted restaurant. There are steps up that are not well lighted.I stumbled three times and my wife fell. They offered 2coupons for free drinks as compensation. Food was ok, but over priced with small portions. Service--chaotic Ambiance--are you looking for a LOUD, heavy on the bass, nightclub atmosphere to have dinner in? Do you want to eat someplace where you won't have to speak to your dining partner because they can't hear you speaking anyway? If so, this is your place. Otherwise, keep looking. Also, if you are unfortunate enough to sit anywhere near the kitchen entrance, you will also be dealing with the banging and shouting coming from there, to compete with the very loud music blasting everywhere. Food--grossly overpriced. This is not the caliber of cuisine you think you'll be getting if you are judging by the very inflated prices they are charging. The food is mediocre at best. The quality is poor. But their prices are really ambitious for what you get. Overall, one star. We would never go here again, nor would we recommend it to anyone. Went for dinner last night and had amazing experience. We were a large group with a baby and they did a great job to accommodate us. Absolutely amazing! From the greeters at the door to the wait staff, this steakhouse was top notch. The ambience was vibing as well. The food.... Delish! From the apps to desserts, STK Steakhouse did not disappoint. The wagyu tomahawk was the best we've ever had. The chunky fries, spinach, mashed potatoes, even the tomato salad was perfect. Our server Ahmed was welcoming, informative, and overall a great guy. He went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was one for the books. The place is not cheap so don't walk in here thinking you are getting fish n chips. It's upscaled for a reason. Would definitely recommend it! read more

We had a 6pm reservation and they were very specific about arriving within 10 minutes of the reservation or we would be charged per head. We were there in time and waiting over 30 minutes while there was plenty of tables and others were seated. It definitely came across just as poor organization. I let it go as it was Christmas Eve. The ribeye was great and shared between guests. Filet was as one would expect but not fabulous. Lil Brgs looked fabulous but were horribly overcooked and dry even with the truffle sauce Drinks were very good and nice selection. This is the kind of place rich people with no taste go to spend way too much money on subpar food and service. The steak was ok, not the best but has a good flavor, the sauces provided however were awful. The stk and Bernese sauces were both non complimentary to the steak and took away rather than added to the meal. The salmon dish was completely under seasoned and so sad. A little bit of salt or other flavor would have done wonders. The price points were wayyyy too high for what you get. I got the small filet, which was served alone with no sides for 50 pounds. Outrageous. Not only that but the servers did not listen to our table. Tho the restaurant was not busy it felt like they were trying to hurry us out. Despite me saying twice, that I was still working on my meal, they cleared the dishes when I was not finished. If I spend 100+ pound on a meal I expect to stay as long as I would like without being pushed out the door. Very subpar experience. Don't eat here unless you like wasting money. Don't go to STK London for a business meal or meeting, a romantic evening, a date night or a normal conversation! If you want a great steak and very loud music, then this is the place for you. My wife and I were in London and found STK close to our hotel. We've been to STK in several cities in the US and were looking forward to a wonderful steak dinner. That didn't happen. The food was good but the ambiance was not that of a high-end steak house or this brand. We arrived early evening, and the restaurant was not busy at all, fairly empty. For some reason, shortly after our drinks and appetizers arrived, the background music volume was turned up to the level of a dance club. Talking with my wife was difficult, and ordering our main course even more so. I had to repeat my order three times before the staff person was able to get it correct. Not her fault as it was too loud. I asked the manager to turn the volume down, which was a "no", but he offered to seat us somewhere else, which was just as loud. I was curious as to how loud it was and loaded an app on my phone to measure the DBs, which were - the low averaged 70+ and the high was 80+. The loud music was not something expected nor have I ever experienced in a great steak house. To STK London, you are doing a disservice to your staff and patrons, and to the STK brand. read more

I've heard that STK wants to appeal to female steak lovers and if the decor and cocktail list is anything to go by, they're doing a great job with the London outlet of the American chain. I felt super swanky and glamorous in this restaurant, which is sleek, polished and seductively lit. I sipped on a martini as I browsed the menu while my sister had some lavender cocktail creation. Between us we shared a steak and a seabass as the portions are huge, A steak each would have been too much. The fish was flavoursome enough, but I recommend ordering steak as it was more special. But it's the thick cut chips that are a must here. It's rare you can get thick cut chips with steak in London and often they're overcooked and hard in the middle. These are crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the middle and come with a generous portion of truffle on the top if you desire. We loved them! A lot of people criticise STK because they say you can get tastier steak elsewhere in London, but that misses the point of the restaurant. For me, going to a restaurant is about an experience and if the atmosphere, decor, location and cocktails are perfect then I'll enjoy my night more than if a well cooked steak is served in an empty, chilly room. Oh and I'd give the truffle chips five stars in their own right. They were that good. Long live the thick cut chip! Chips not fries! read more

The waiter assigned to our table was doing an incredibly mediocre job forcing food down while pushing my friend out of the way to take the plates after. When we decided to remove the service charge due to his Insolent behaviour, he was in credibly argumentative discrediting our experience. We called for a manager to manage his behaviour and no one proceeded to arrive. Had to speak to a hostess to find us another waiter to manage our payment. Terrible experience, never have I ever needed to remove a service charge for such behaviour. The food was mediocre for the prices they charged, the restaurant was extremely loud not ideal for conversation flow, there were people overly drunk acting like it's a club experience. Wow....what a huge disappointment. Never again will eat here. Visiting London over the holidays with my fiancé. Made a dinner reservation a month in advance for New Years Eve. Had to spend 250 pound minimum and they charge your card for half the amount up front. With all of that...I expected higher standards and quality out of STK. STK failed to deliver. I'm not lying when I tell you these times. We had dinner reservations at 9pm. Sat down at around 9:05pm. Put our order in at 9:10pm. All of our food came out at 9:15pm..... Either A- they have the fastest chefs in the world or B - that food was sitting under a heat lamp pre-cooked hours before... If you guessed option B. You'd be correct. That is horrible! The food was cold! Tough to chew because it had been sitting out for so long. We weren't the only table either - every table around us - the food was out within 5-7 minutes they sat down. We ordered: * Octopus - Cold and rubbery * Lil burgers - Not bad in flavor - just not hot * Brown egg something - Disgusting... * Tuna ceviche - meh * Short Rib - Flavor was great. Lots of meat. This could have been so great - just lukewarm. * Lobster Mac and cheese - Laughable * Brownie Sundae - The entire thing was frozen - even the glass... The waiter told us we were still under the 250. So we ordered two more glasses of wine to get us to 250. Then he came by and asked us to order more because we haven't reached our minimum. I was confused - we just did. He said oh, now you need to get to 280 pounds for the service charge... is this a joke....then he precedes to ask for a tip. I've been to a lot of STK's. Came to STK for Christmas dinner, the restaurant had a DJ for the holidays. However rather than play holiday music he was blasting Play that Funky Music and Blondie's Rapture on 10! I came here for a civilized Christmas dinner and was half deafened by the outdated DJ. Nothing he played was even from this century. The music was so loud I thought I'd stepped into a discotheque instead of a restaurant. The music was so loud it was impossible for my server to hear me or I him. I'm seated across from a banquette of 5 people, the two teenagers in the middle look totally mind numbed and the grandmother on the end is having to use hand signals to communicate with the parents at the other end of the table. Nothing says Christmas like hand gestures necessitated by loud music. When I gave my name at the podium the maitre d' made a point stating that I was dining alone to his colleague. He also failed to ask if I'd like to check my coat as he had with the previous COUPLE that entered after me, but were serviced first. I'd hate to suggest this STK has issues with women traveling alone or even women diners in general, but the waiter did hover until he got my full order. As for the food, the steak was cooked perfectly. The mash were dry but tasty. And had turned to thick paste before the meal was over. Where the food fell apart was with the Bernaise sauce which was thick and gelatinous. It is for the steak and barely passable mash alone that STK is eking out a 1 star review. Now, I feel the need to go back to STK in NYC and see if the whole brand has fallen mightily or if London is an aberration. Because, this is definitely the biggest disappointment of my holiday vacation. The steak and accoutrements I had at some no name restaurant last night were infinitely better than what I got from a supposed steakhouse tonight. Time was being known as a "steakhouse" meant something. Perhaps that only matters in the States. OMG!!! Now the DJ is playing She's a Brick House!!! This is 50 year old music!!!! Five stars for ambiance (if you like a lively venue), but food was just average. The octopus sounded promising, but it was bland and lacking of flavor. The aged ny strip that I ordered medium rare was overcooked (whaaat?), and also lacking flavor. Where's the salt please? They were accommodating though, to make me some sautéed mushrooms, so kudos for that! My server was also really nice. Overall, glad I can check it off my list, but not going back. Classy, trendy, expensive. Dress to impress and don't go later in the evening if you're looking for a quiet dinner. It can get packed and the music can get loud. I loved the vibe but the patrons can be a bit stuffy and pretentious at times. It goes with the territory. If you stop by just after they open at 17:00, it's quiet and calm and the service is quick. Greeted and welcomed to our first table by a window whilst the lowering sun dappled in, it was all feeling pretty special, not to mention the wonderful reception from all the staff on entrance, we started on the Champagne as we mused over the delights on offer. Not ones to cause too much of a fuss, we were soon asked if we would like to move over to the back section and were placed on a table looking out across the entire restaurant, far more 'ooh la la' and decor to wonder at from this position. I felt VIP, maybe not quite Posh and Becks as my friend suggested but pretty special! A beautiful fresh tear and share bread was place on our table with a blue cheese glaze and accompanying fresh herb tapenade dip, I might have had a little nibble and I can say it was a deliciously crusty exterior with a soft dense brioche texture inside, whilst the hint of rich cheese complimented the sweet bread, yum! We did eventually get around to choosing our courses, the Fois Gras with toast I'm informed was, "pretty bloody tasty" despite being slightly taken aback when I informed him what it was afterwards, moral dilemma and all. I went for the Swordfish sashimi with sesame and soy dressing, mind blowing fish right there, delicate, almost translucent white circles dressed with soy, sesame and micro herbs. The lime squeezed over this gave the depth and saltiness of the soy and sesame a light kick complementing the meaty, melt in the mouth delicacy of the swordfish; an absolutely stunning dish. For the main course I had been well informed that they serve alternatives to steak should I wish, but when dining at STK there really is only one option; Filet topped with Lobster, yes, I did it.. And it was good. Not that standard good, this was God created the World in seven days 'and it was good', good. The filet was cooked beautifully,medium rare, we all know that filet requires barely any time in the pan due to it been so tender, this piece went in to pick up some flavour and get some added beef to its persona, the seasoning was divine, now imagine that rich seasoned delicate filet of beef accompanied by a meaty, sweet, soft and juicy piece of lobster, I was spoilt! My friend went for a steak the size of his head and we shared sides of well seasoned pan fried broccoli, fresh mint petit pois and truffle and parmesan chips. Simple food with high quality ingredients, executed beautifully. We couldn't even bring ourselves to open the dessert menu after this, truly stuffed and satisfied we concluded champagne served us much better and enjoyed finishing off the bottle. That was until a dainty little dessert plate arrived, notably colour coordinated with my dress, with a candle in a quill of ice cream and happy birthday swirled in chocolate at the side. Next to the STK in Miami, this is definitely your favorite. Good steak but it's really about the atmosphere! The DJ was awesome and had everyone dancing on there seats/tables. We had a blast. This was so close to a five star it hurts. Let me explain, I'm not a glamorous food eater, dim lights, delicious cocktails and impeccable service will only get you half way. For me, the food is the essence and sole purpose of a restaurant. I thought, "Restaurants like STK, they'll never satisfy the foodie in me." Knowing it's an imported chain, I expected a gaucho-esque experience, and even those are varied. However, I was thoroughly - thoroughly impressed by the spread at STK. Let's start with the good stuff (I didn't order half of it so forgive the vagueness). The bread, this sets the tone for your meal really. And my tone was 'full' after the first 10 minutes. I literally could not keep off the bread. It was a sweet brioche-like bread, baked into the image of a chef's hat, what's not to like? Just to add that extra dimension to this sweet bread, there was a delicious green pesto dip. I wanted to take ten home and be done with it. This was hands-down the best bread I've had. Okay, enough bread-fan-boying. Next up was a steak, you wouldn't feel right ordering anything else at a restaurant named ST(EA)K, it's practically egging you on. I went for the 200g ribeye cooked medium rare. Bearing in mind I filled myself with bread, I ploughed on destroyed the meat. It was cooked perfectly pink in the middle, the meat was tender and marbled with fat in all the right places. It was incredible! The sides - the last thing I expected was pak choi, but I wasn't going to say no to my Chinese roots, nothing special but created a well-balanced meal. The chips - delicious and triple(?) fried in their own right, but the seasoning - this perfected chips for me. Chips will never be the same again. Mac'n'cheese is... well, Mac'n'cheese, I never got the allure or disdain here. So far so good, this is 5 star-stuff I think to myself. I ordered what looked like an amazing apple cake pie. It had apple mousse in a glaze and in the shape of an apple top. It looked beautiful, underneath the mouse was hard pastry filled with baked apples. It seemed like a recipe for success, but I found it sweet and one dimensional. It could've been so good and I'm sure it's other desserts were, but this didn't tick the box for me sadly. Drinks - had the Malbec, it wasn't write home good, but it would've been better if the waiter let it breathe and didn't decide to fill everyone's wine glass - so that it can breathe...Let's park that - the cocktails - had a perfect G&T, this was perfect, literally.
