By using a combination of modern music and traditional music theory, you’ll learn using the music that you love. We offer rock band, lessons, and camp that make playing an instrument fun. Established in 2019.
STL Rock School was originally called Dave Simon's Rock School, which was formed in 2003 in the basement of McMurray Music with just 6 students. In 2012, Jared Erlinger began running the Rock School as the GM. In March 2019, Jared purchased the school and rebranded as STL Rock School. The school now has over 30+ bands and 200+ students, making it one of STL's largest locally owned schools. While there are music chains that you can find in the area, nowhere else will you be able to sit down with an owner who loves & cares for a school like Jared.
Meet the Business Owner: Jared E.
My name is Jared Erlinger, and I'm very excited to tell you about STL Rock School's amazing music programs! My school's philosophy is that by playing music that kids enjoy, it creates more incentive for the students to practice and grow! If you're like me, you took classical piano lessons as a kid. I remember dreading going to lessons not because I didn't enjoy music, but because I didn't enjoy what I was playing. And there's absolutely no reason for this to be the case! Music does wonders for the mind, body and soul. Students who learn music improve memory & cognition, reduces stress, and improves one's mood. It is one of the few activities that will help your child's left and right side of the brain! All parents want this from their kids, but most don't want to deal with the extra stress of nagging their kids to practice. That's why we've created our unique band program that develops teamwork and confidence, and inspires students to want to learn without mom or dad getting on them!
