But the 2023 and 2024 tax years take the prize for costly missteps. Despite holding a CPA license, Dominique repeatedly advised us to file under incorrect statuses -- including "Head of Household" -- based on my extended military deployments. She also failed to identify a lawful qualifying dependent for that filing status, which she later admitted was inapplicable. These errors have now triggered IRS issues we are still dealing with. Even worse, although she acknowledged the filing mistakes in writing, she refuses to issue a refund for her services. A CPA is legally and ethically bound to uphold tax law -- not submit inaccurate returns just to appease a client. She also misled us into believing that filing separately and filing late would not be an issue -- both of which have led to problems. I've now spent months cleaning up her preventable errors, and the matter is still unresolved. Military families and anyone with complex tax needs: steer clear. I came here by recommendation of my dad's employer to have my 2016 taxes amended. The first time I came, I walked in but was told that I needed to call after tax season for amendments because they were busy, which I totally understood. They provided me with a yellow paper with their address and number to call with an extension. I called late April using that little yellow paper and had a really hard time reaching someone to make an appointment so I tried for a couple days but my calls were not returned even when I left a voicemail. I was finally able to reach someone after 3 days. I made my appointment to amend my 2016 taxes and was told to bring in my W-2, social security card, and an ID and was given an appointment for the next week. I definitely appreciated the quick availability even though calling was a mission. I showed up to my appointment early and was asked to fill out a paper and provided my documents once completed. Katheryn was incredibly helpful and explained everything very well and walked through the process with me. I left happy and feeling accomplished. Well I got a call an hour later because my the IRS rejected my information and she asked if I had already submitted my taxes. I stated that yes I had and that I thought she knew that I had wanted an amendment cause I had stated it making my appointment. She stated that I had to tell/remind them that at the appointment so I was a little upset about that. I was going to set up an appointment so I could come back and she could speak with me about the changes but I do not have the time to come back and ended up completing the amendment myself because I was able to figure out what was wrong and what I needed to do. It gets 3 stars because it's a good option to have especially since it's free financial services, even if the experience was eh.

I'm trying to get my taxes caught up with them for over a few weeks now, a period of time stemming from waiting on the IRS to send me redacted income history. Last Wednesday I have an appointment with Cynthia that ran almost an hour late based on something she was going through. We consult based on what I have and I sign a form that allows her to get unredacted information with her code through the IRS. now since these are older reviews I'm knowing that it may take some time, so I ask when it will be ready to be told that it would be on Friday. Today is Wednesday and my documents have still not been filed so I will be picking them up and filing them elsewhere on Friday. If you have a 9-5 and don't mind an extensive waiting period I think they would be ideal for you, but after 6 weeks of time wasting and no follow up, I will be going with a younger firm that has more strict time limits than pay $300 a review for a lack of structure. Also the $300 new business set up fee can be saved by you as long as you are willing to file the incorporation fee yourself ($150). For the quality of work I received I would never recommend anyone to pay the fee, you should do it yourself and have less stress.
