I remember the glorious time when there was a Stoats Porridge Bar Van parked right in the middle of the Meadows. On my way to university. Just sitting there, beckoning to me with the option of actually getting breakfast, albeit having to sacrifice punctuality.
Stoats is good. Stoats is very good indeed. They will put all sorts of delicious yums in your porridge. I never grew up eating porridge. Mainly because it's not staple food in Brazil, so it wasn't staple food in my house either. And I can't really deal with plain porridge. Which is where Stoats comes in, in all its magnificence.
They'll put jam in your porridge, they'll put chocolate in your porridge. You can get your porridge with honey or brown sugar. You can get it with extra cream. You can get it with nuts! You can, obviously, get it with raisins or sultanas (though I have a personal vendetta against these dessicated grapes).
Now, they're at the Farmers Market every Saturday, and considering it never really gets too hot for porridge in Scotland, you should get there and try some. Pronto. read more
