The volunteers whom coordinated the pageant were always cheerfully professional, and available to answer questions quickly. Here they offer garlic french fries, garlic mushroom & onion bread bowl, garlic pesto pasta and the garlic maple brown sugar ice cream. We opted getting both the garlic fries and garlic fries with bacon. Both didn't have a strong garlicky taste like the ones that you get at the county fair. There was no garlic aftertaste. As for the garlic maple brown sugar ice cream, you can hardly taste the garlic in it. It mostly tasted like the maple brown sugar. Besides the food from the cali garlic alley, they have other food vendors and also a few vendors selling items as well. There is a pageant show, cooking demos, the show & shine car show, photography exhibit, splash zone for the kiddos, monster truck rides and pony rides. Overall, we've been to better festivals and this one was not worth going to. It's their 2nd year for this festival and it was lacking. Hopefully next year would be much better but unfortunately we won't be attending the next garlic festival event.

We got lucky and were still able to get some gyros, hummus, and iced coffee. I got the chicken gyro, and it was pretty good, but not the best I've had (probably because they were rushing to get as many out as possible). My husband wanted to try the coffee, and I'm glad he did, it tasted really good. I'm not usually a cherry-anything type of person, but the sour cherry Loux made me question myself because it was so refreshing on a warm day. I was disappointed with the hummus and pita though, the pita was cold and dry, and the hummus didn't have much flavor, which is a bummer because I love hummus. Definitely skip that one. We might try again next year on the first day to see if it's better, but overall, I'm glad we got to check it out!

Every year their admission cost goes up. I remember when it was $2/person. This year it was $5. I appreciate that they always reserve extra parking spots w.cones for the folks who are handicapped. The food is obviously festival priced. I do wish they'd introduce new Greek items because it's the same food every year. Our go-to items include: iced Greek coffee, gyros, tons of pastries inside the hall, & loukoumades (Greek donut balls w/honey and Walnuts). I waa craving a baklava sundae. Its vanilla ice cream with a crushed baklava piece, topped with whipped cream and crushed Walnuts. Unfortunately that's the last time I'll be getting it because I almost broke my tooth by biting into a Walnut shell that was in the nut topping!!! The live Greek music is great and made me feel like we were back in Athens, having dinner in Plaka at a sidewalk taverna.

When we realized they were there, we came back to them and let them check our bags. Very unprofessional and rude people. They failed to do their job and got rude with us for coming back and having them check our bags before we entered... The highlight was the margaritas and the Monster Truck ride. He deep fried asparagus still had the stalky end which was gross to bite into. The unlimited ticket was also confusing. As you we supposed to get the pass, then take them to another location to get a bracelet. That was a waste of money, but a lesson learned.

Soul Food Festival- Location Weber point in Stockton, CA…read more So this was the 8 th annual Soul Food Festival in Stockton, Ca. It's on August 1st of every year. This was the first time I ever heard of the event. I came here with my Grandpa and our friend to check things out. The admission was free and the parking was free since it was on a Sunday. Inside there was all kinds of booths with different types of soul food. We decided to try out some Jamaican food from Delroys. I had this chicken called jerk chicken with rice, beans and a salad. The jerk chicken was really good, whatever spice they use. It hit the spot and the Jamaican rice was bomb as well. The beans were like a pork n beans and the salad was pretty much a house salad. My Grandpa had a tri tip sandwich and he enjoyed the Sammy. Our friend ribs, greens, Jamaican rice and beans. From what our buddy said "the ribs are really good". There was some booths that sold clothes and some had where you can get your hair did. There was live entertainment and it was under a big tent. So you wouldn't be in the sun. Also the water fountain was on for the kids to have fun in the sun. So yeah, I had a great time. We'll definitely be back next year on August 1st. Hope to see you there. Delta Reflections Lighted Boat Parade -Saturday, December 7, 2013, 6-8 p.m…read more Location: McCloud Lake at the Downtown Waterfront, mwyc.org 2013 was the 31st year for the Stockton Delta Reflections Boat parade and it did not disappoint! Lots of folks braved the low 20's frosty night air to wait expectantly for the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department Boat to lead the pack of festively decorated boats. They shot their water hoses high up into the air, careful not to douse all the chilled onlookers or other boats in the lineup. They shone their green and red lights up towards the spray to create a beautiful icy rainbow. Many other entrants cruised by many dressed in Santa attire and called out gleefully to the crowd, "Merry Christmas"! The onlookers respond in kind and added a nice round of applause. The Boat Parade is one Christmas tradition I hope will always be around.

But it was a good time. Nice small town festival with local vendors and lots of yummy local foods. There were two stages playing music at opposite ends. One in the Great Plate parking lot and the other right up at the corner of Central and 10th. As you can imagine central was closed for that entire stretch of road. The Lockeford Sausage was delicious and the El Toro Tacos from the taco truck did not disappoint. I got to sample wines from windmill ridge and Ramon rios wineries. There were also a couple of beer/microbrew spots as well. There was an activity tent for the kids, a produce area so you can sample and buy fresh local fruits and veggies, and even a chili cook off. Good times for the whole family.

They had a lot more to offer from food vendors, regular misc vendors and activities for the kids. Plenty of parking (however pin your car and remember what lot you're in!) I didn't realize there were 2 entrances. We entered in the front, yet when we were leaving we walked out through the back and didn't recognize or notice until we got all the way out that our car was on the entirely opposite side. Luckily they allowed us to re-enter so we didn't have to walk around. It was definitely packed, parking can be paid with Apple Pay! Purchase tickets online a few days before the fair for the best deals! I can't wait for next year to come back and enjoy some sun, rides, and carnival foods.

There were too many people to enjoy anything there were no seating for me and my family when we wanted to watch the performance. The lines were very long for absolutely everything except the food and drinks which constantly made us give up and walk away. Everyone was scattered everywhere and it was hard for my family to stay together. I loved the idea and concept of the grape festival but honestly wish there was some sort of capacity limit. Also. My daughter was waiting in line for numerous rides and they were telling her she was either too short or too tall to rides and my niece is actually one inch taller than my daughter and was let on rides. Over all I just wish there was a capacity limit so we could've enjoyed the festival more throughly.

All those players in every genre who loved him, will play the blues in honor of him as they have never played before! I first saw B.B King live at Crabshaw Corners in Sacramento when I was just a teen playing rock & roll/countrymusic as a harmonica player. I left that show a convert to the blues. While I learned to appreciate all blues, Billie Holiday, with her jazz styled infused blues, was my favorite female artist. B.B. King my favorite male blues artist. His pure original style making "Lucille" cry the blues every which way no other guitarist could, propelled B.B. to take his art-form worldwide. All the greats after him owe him homage as the trailblazer of American Blues.. While B.B. King had his influences from earlier blues figures, B.B. took the blues mainstream. Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix,, Elvin Bishop, just to name a few, all learned from... The Master. While "The Thrill Is Gone" his music and influence will live on. The lineup for this years Isleton Cajun & Blues Festival has some of the hottest acts in the business... and some of the best acts in Zydeco-Cajun Music from the Delta who will no doubt let their blues influence shine also. A little bit of an update.... we spent the afternoon at the festival and it was pretty sad. Only one vendor had crawdads and the line was 2 1/2 hours long. Very, very disappointing.
