I needed one more small piece of quartz, Silestone in Zirconium. No one had it, called Stone Central, spoke to Ted. He found it, got a quote, sold it to me, and I signed off on the CAD drawing. The guy Rich who comes to measure your counter tops is a rude, arrogant jerk. He came into my home and insulted me then tried to justify his actions. I called the company and told them exactly what happened and they said they would have a talk with him. Honestly after reading these reviews I doubt that anything was done about it. I should have thrown him out of my house. With all these negative reviews it's obvious they really don't care about any of their customers. Totally incompetent company! What should have taken maybe one or two weeks is going on four to five... errors made in cutting backsplash... several inches too long?! Really? Forgetting to polish the edges? Their website boasts about the superior craftmanship, attention to details and state of the art equipment! We ordered a countertop through Home Depot who subcontracts with this company. I have never had such a terrible experience working with a company. From the meet ups for measurements and installation to dealing with Home Depot to remedy our issues. I wish I could give a negative star review. We had a sink installed along with new granite counter tops just under 3 years ago and a few days ago the undermount sink fell out. I called to report the issue to Stone Central thinking they would quickly come out to fix it to stand behind their installation. Instead they said I would be charged a repair fee and it would take several months for them to come out. After I alerted them that this was unacceptable because it was obviously a faulty installation I told them I would be writing reviews online and alerting the Better Business Bureau. Shortly after responding back to them with this information someone called me from the company suggesting I tampered with a harness that was installed with the sink. The only thing I could see under the sink when I looked were some clasps with some broken wire attached, if that is what they are calling a harness. Instead of calling me to help us figure out how to fix this issue she was immediately accusatory and aggressive. My parents are elderly and my father is a disabled Vietnam Veteran with end stage Dementia. Not having a functioning kitchen sink makes it very difficult for both of them. I'm extremely disappointed in their response and lack of customer service, as well as aggression towards me when I was simply trying to get the issue corrected for my parents. And the fact that they got aggressive after I told them I would be writing reviews and contacting BBB is also very concerning. I should have done my research prior to my purchase. I made my purchase through Home Depot in Halfmoon NY. Apparently this was the only vendor for the stone we picked out. This seemed like a simple enough process. I have never had an issue ordering counters in the past. This was a nightmare from the beginning. Here are the lowlights of dealing with these people. To summarize 1st General lack of installation knowledge during introduction call was my initial red flag. 2nd My appointment which was scheduled well in advance was rescheduled without contacting me. 3rd I was contacted by customer care on day of service at 940am, 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to inform me your tech was sick. The individual shared the personal diagnosis of the tech with me. 4th In my opinion it was wildly inappropriate for the company to share medical information of an employee with a customer. 5th Only 1 technician for the Saratoga County area of nearly 250k potential customers. 6th No plan B for your customers when you do have a call in. 7th Pushing the job 7 full days as a solution. 8th Finally, telling me to call Home Depot to figure it out. The icing. After speaking with Home Depot, we collectively concluded my best option is to get a refund and find a new vendor. Well, the poor customer care continues. When I called to let Stone Central know I would not need your service. As a courtesy so they could free up my time slot, the individual I spoke with gave me a "then why are you telling me "attitude to which I stated I think the owner of this company would want to know thousands of dollars are being lost over something with a very simple solution. Stone Central was the contractor that installed my countertops purchased through Lowe's. Dealing with Stone Central was a horrible experience. The backsplash is not flush against the wall and does not align with the countertops. It looks like I installed them myself. They are rude and unprofessional and their work is shoddy and unacceptable. I paid for the countertops in January and was told by Lowe's that I could expect installation in March. The countertops were not installed until May. I was told I was the first appointment at 8:15 a.m. The installers did not arrive until 10:15 a.m. I would never use Lowe's for a home improvement project again. Nor would I use or ever recommend. It's been a month since the cabinets were ready for countertops and we still haven't even been provided an install date. It took a week for them to get out to measure and now three weeks waiting on a call. When I call and ask what the delay is they just say they need to find out where the material is. I'm not one to leave negative reviews but if this helps someone not go through with what we had to that would be great! Our kitchen was measured and their technician was great. A nice guy to chat with, and he new what he was talking about. That's where the good service ended. This company is purely about the profit and does not care about customer satisfaction at all! They sent us drawing with multiple seams. We then asked why they are placed their. And that we would like most of them removed. Their response was no we won't do that. After talking with other companies we determined they wouldn't meet our needs because they wanted to get the most out of each slab that they could. They didn't even try to meet us in the middle. I then asked, ok if we agree to proceed where do we stand if they are installed and we don't approve of the seam quality. Their response was " If we (stone central) determine the seams are not to our standards we will fix them". That means as the customer our concern doesn't matter. Just stay away from them. I was able to get exactly what I wanted out of quality granite with only one seam from their competitor. read more

Ordered and pre-paid for solid surface countertops in summer 2021. They cancelled day before installation due to Covid .. Cancelled complete order and re-ordered when we got back to cottage in April 2022. They scheduled installation then cancelled again -- this time, the sink was damaged and reordered... 10 days later, re-scheduled again and they installed. Was going to tile backsplash myself, but once old counters were removed, their new countertops were not level enough for me to tile. They don't level their installations.... sad story. read more

Purchased high end Dekton countertops at Home Depot months ago which were supposed to be installed today. An hour after the beginning of the arrival window we got a call saying the island is scuffed and not coming. They cannot give us any estimate for completion. Per their instructions we took everything apart and now now have to reinstall temporary counters on a very large island with no idea when our kitchen will be finished. Even if the finished product is perfect I would not recommend due to unreasonable delay for completion, poor customer service and communication. There are better options out there. read more

My wife and I were looking for a countertop for a bathroom for our son's house. Everybody was around $1,200.00. My wife as always says I can find a better price. 12 yrs. ago we went to Home Depot for ours. We looked at our records and found out Wilbedone did ours, also our daughters house. So we called and found out they were in Syracuse, right where we live. We called met Ted. We told him our situation and he showed us remnants. Perfect my wife found something she liked. We went with a undermount sink. $570.00 and we picked it up. So we went ahead and called Ted and said now we want kitchen countertops for his home. Ted came thru again bought a slab that they had discounted and Ivan came in installed professionally and we could not be happier. I'm sorry to see such unhappy customers review. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE experience with this company! DO NOT USE!! Purchased counter through Lowes who outsourced to this company. Error by company about what brackets we needed to order and have installed for kitchen island. Realized at time of install. Needed to order new brackets and install despite this being their error. Several weeks awaiting brackets and rescheduling counter delivery and install. Kitchen barely useable as previous counters removed !!!!! Then the counter is installed and it's damaged--Lots of scratches all over the surface. Was not seen by husband or installers during installation likely due to the lighting. I immediately called Stone Central that evening when I returned home and left a message. Told the next day when I called back that I needed to have someone come out and evaluate the counter. Told this could take some time because they a have only one person performing this task. This takes over a month to schedule. Assessor came out last week and tried to remove scratches to only further damage the counter!!!!! Told a "claim" has to be submitted and that nothing can be done until they hear back from the quartz company. 1 week later I called Stone Central. No update. "Can't reach the manufacturer..." What should have been an exciting and happy upgrade of my kitchen has been absolutely horrible. Shame on you Stone Central and Lowes!!!!!!! read more

We subcontracted Stone Central through Lowes to install custom kitchen countertops and are currently awaiting to set up an appointment for measurements. I've spent all day back and forth with both parties trying to get Stone Central to find our order in their system. Lowes insists they've sent our order to Stone Central, yet the last thing I was told by their appointment scheduler before they closed for the day is that they cannot help me and I need to speak with Lowes (again), who understandably sounds as exasperated as we are by this point. I purchased my quartz counter tops through Cabinets To Go and we love them! However, it's turning into a nightmare with Stone Central! We over purchased in material and it's like pulling teeth to get the amount used so cabinets to go can refund my money. They said that it would be only a day or two and 16plus days later still nothing! I really think that Cabinets To Go needs to find a different counter top vendor. The ONLY shinning light has been Cabinets To Go in this ordeal, they have helped me every step of the way with my kitchen design and installation process. I would recommend them to everyone, Stone Central Not So Much! For something so simple, way to much RED tape. I will say that there installers did a Really Nice work on my counter tops. read more

If you want to spend money on eating out, cook your meals in electric fry pan, have a new stove uninstalled for 3 months.. then this is the company you want to do your counters! It took them three installs to get it right. The first counter was supposed to be from one piece as it isn't a big kitchen. They used to pieces that did not match. Told us it was the light making it looked unmatched. They finally came and looked at it and agreed it didn't match. Next piece that was installed had damages. Supposedly they examine the pieces when they're delivered but admitted they don't always do that. Another month for them to come redo that one. They finally installed the third piece which looked fine. I can't say it's perfectly level but Done is done. If you want a lot of grief and waste your time and money, use this company. Terrible. They sub contract from lowes we drove 2 hours to look at slab we didn't like one section of it they said it was earth and couldn't guarantee it, wouldn't be visable. Their measurements and installation were terrible. They never drilled a whole for the soap dispenser, never told us just installed - not to the template we signed off on. This is the worst part of all. One section of the counter was installed crooked so that a when we went to go put the stove back in it doesn't fit. The opening in the front measures 30 1/4" and the measurement closest to the back is 29 1/4", most appliance are 30" wide so we can not fit our stove between the 2 sections installed. Literally we can't put our stove back in! How frustrating is that? We figured out the counter to the left was installed and siliconed off center, causing the miss matched measurements. Don't even get me started on the back splash one part wasn't to specs or template. Terrible customer service!! They said they are going to come and fix but it's the night before thanksgiving it be nice to use our stove for the weekend. They already came back to drill the whole for the soap dispenser now they have to come back to fix a whole section. If I could give zero stars, I would. Stone Central installed our countertops we purchased from Lowe's. The customer service we received for scheduling the initial fabrication and install date was just okay. The day they came to install the countertop, they showed up with the WRONG product. The installers called management and they heavily pushed for us to keep the wrong countertop, and insisted that it was better than what we had ordered anyway. We refused. Obviously, we aren't going to keep a product that we don't like and are paying thousands of dollars for. In addition to the wrong countertop being delivered, we didn't have the correct supports needed to install it. The installers told us we needed more and something different (we followed exactly what the fabricator wrote on our sheet). The customer service from that day on was absolutely THE WORST experience ever. Hilary told us we needed this and that kind of support and we sent pictures back and forth of what we had done to fix it and she said it was good. Terry said she would do anything she could to expedite the process and get the new material to us immediately. First, they didn't have the product we picked in house. So they had to get it delivered from somewhere else...that took 2 weeks to get in. When it arrived on their campus, we were given an install date 2 weeks out from there. Mind you we had torn off our old countertops and disconnected all appliances in the kitchen as they had instructed. When I called Stone Central back about the new install date, they thought 2 weeks was quick enough and were super reluctant to bump our date up. After continously calling, they finally were able to move it up 4 days (not a big dfferent when you don't have counters for a month). When the installers came the second time to install the correct countertop, they told us we STILL did not have what was needed for support, but they would install it anyway. Terry had mentioned they would only start a refund process after the counter was installed, so as soon as the installers left I called and requested a refund. Did not hear from Terry again for 3 weeks. She stopped answering her phone, didn't return emails....horrible. I repeatedly called every line every day. No one answered. It is like they had my phone number posted everywhere not to answer. They are HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE STONE CENTRAL. read more

Although I love our new quartz counter top in our new bathroom I am not impressed with Stone Central. They were scheduled to measure for the countertop between 9 and 11 am but arrived at 1 PM. They measured the countertop, made a template, asked us to sign off on it and left. Unbeknownst to us there were mistakes - something a lay person would not notice. Thankfully our contractor was perceptive and noticed the mistakes in the template. It would have been a huge problem had the contractor not discovered the discrepancies. It was then necessary for Stone Central to return to remeasure which added an additional 2 weeks to the delivery of the countertop. The day after the countertop was finally installed (which was nearly a month - 27 days after the first measurement), I contacted Stone Central for a scrap piece of the quartz Just a small piece that I could use to match since it was an unusual color and hard to match. I was told "they don't do sample pieces" which amazed me since I assumed they must have had some fragments left from the sink and faucet cutouts. Stone Central needed to return to place the backsplashes so I again asked for a scrap piece but since I was not at home the day they installed the back splash, I didn't get one. Frustrating for such a small request. Our contractor had pointed out some flaws and imperfections that I don't believe would have been repaired had he not mentioned them. I don't recommend using Stone Central. read more

We recently had a granite countertop installed by Stone Central. We bought through Home Depot, at a greatly reduced price from what all the other granite places in Syracuse wanted for the granite we picked out. $68/sq.ft. vs $125/sq. ft.!!! Everyone we dealt with was very good. You may have some trouble getting hold of Hillary by phone, but once you contract through Home Depot or Lowes, they will contact you and Hillary will give you her email, which she is very responsive to. Stone Central is a high volume business; Their prices are very low, so there are a few things you don't get that you would someplace else; While you get to see and approve the slab, you don't get to see and approve the layout. We were very concerned by this, as our granite has a lot of movement, but they did a great job and we are very pleased. We didn't ask for or get European miters (also called Dog leg miters) in the L's which are standard most places, and look a little bit nicer. But that's it. Everything else was tops. read more

I wouldn't use this company again. The guy who took the measurements was weird and unfriendly. He then informed me he had to take my sink as it was not in their data base. When i asked him when I would get the sink back, he just shrugged his shoulders and said 4 weeks with the counter top. I told him the sink was a standard sink size found in any Lowes or Home Depot but because the brand wasn't in the system he had to take it. I called the company and at first wouldn't send the sink back until the counter top was done. After threatening to find a new company for the work, they said they could send the sink back with an install crew the following week. Once the counter top came in and installed, the sink curves did not line up with the counter top curves. I needed to make a change in the cut on my island for a pop up electrical outlet and I never heard back from them. For the amount of money you spend, I would find another contractor. read more
