This is my personal experience that I encountered with Shawn Stone and his office. I retained Shawn Stone in November of 2016 and paid him $1300.00 up front and in his client agreement it states that if he does not file your case in 90 days he would void the agreement and refund your money. Shawn and his associate attorney Malory were so incompetent he couldn't figure out how to save my retirement from the bankruptcy court and they kept putting my case off until I confronted him and asked what is going on and he stated to me "YOU ARE BEING ASSHOLE" Shawn told me go to a different attorney if I'm not happy. So this was now the beginning of April 2017 that's 5 months and a typical bankruptcy takes approximately 3-4 weeks to file. So after that conversation I decided to find another attorney and he corrupted my new attorney James Kahn who I reported to the Arizona bar as well. Shawn Stone then proceeded to make up a Fraudulent bill for $3400.00 and he still kept my original $1300.00. In my opinion I would never refer these two attorney's to my worst nightmare and the Arizona bar launched a investigation. Shawn assisted with the negotiation of a debt which was wrongfully attributed by my HOA. I received a letter from a collections attorney and promptly contacted Shawn's Law Group. A meeting was scheduled and I provided him with all of the information I had as to why I do not feel responsible for the debt. I did not have a good experience. I booked an appointment on the phone and explained my situation to the clerk. I was told this was the lawyer's area of specialty. I asked for a phone consultation and was told I must come in person. I filled out an extensive questionnaire prior to his staff meeting with me. They would not discuss my legal issue until I had answered my job, the amount of money I have in the bank and make per year and details that didn't pertain to my issue such as the year of my cars and how much we owed on them. Then, she steps out of the room and says she will talk to the lawyer. She comes back and the lawyer CONFERENCE CALLS in- doesn't even bother to give me an in person consultation to say he doesn't recommend taking my type of case which means he collects my consultation fee but doesn't have to bother coming into the office to collect it. I was sent to him by another bankruptcy attorney who wasn't accepting clients at the time, man I hate she sent me to this guy. During my consultation with him, it seemed as if he was the perfect pick to help me with my decision/case. For those who have yet to have a consultation about bankruptcy, the atty is suppose to review your current finances with a fine tooth comb to help you make any further decisions with the funds you may have in hand. Long story short, shawn ended up dropping me as his client, (and I totally agreed with the decision after having to deal with Mallory and not getting my questions answered in a timely manner) stating he didn't know that I had taken $7k from an IRA account otherwise he could have told me how to use that money. How could he not have known???? It was in clear writing with all of my other accounts and finances at the time!! I hate I went to him, they wasted my time and took my money & never thoroughly reviewed my case to begin with. Luckily I didn't have to file bankrupt, I ended up getting smart and studied some things myself instead of depending on a useless ambulance chaser to do anything for me.
