Was Dr. Delgado open to new patients? Yes he was. Could I make an appointment? Yes - but first I needed to be interviewed and then "approved" by Dr. Delgado. That was a new one for me. What was this, Harvard Admissions? I've never heard of a doctor picking patients in this way. But I'm game and went ahead and politely gave my details - middle aged man, very healthy lifestyle, no major issues, fully insured, no recent felony convictions etc. They promised they would then get back to me "very quickly" with a judgement as to my acceptability for this elite practice. One day, two day, three day ... still no reply from the office. Four days, five days. I was left twisting in the wind. Finally I called them and inquired as to the status of my application. They immediately informed me that I had been "rejected". I was shocked and asked why they hadn't called me. Well the office was simply very busy. They can't be bothered with pesky patients it seems, particularly the unworthy ones. And why was I rejected? They wouldn't tell me. That's right, their judgement process is totally secret. Thus I had no idea what the issue was. Was it that I was too healthy? Was my (premium top-flight) insurance not suitable? Was I the wrong age or ethnic group? Who knows. All they would tell me was that I didn't make the cut and had lost a week of time. Sometimes a single experience tells you all you need to know about someone or a business. Anyone who treats people in this manner will never gain my respect or patronage. I wouldn't touch this place with the proverbial 10-foot pole. So here is basic business tip for Dr. Delgado, should he ever bother to read this: if you are going to put people through an application process, you owe them a quick response and transparency. That's simple courtesy. Anything less than that indicates a basic lack of respect for the community and your patients. And that's not a good character trait for anyone - particularly a physician.

The only reason I went back is because my doctor referred me. A mass was found on my ovary via ultrasound. After a MRI I had an appointment with Dr Toshnik. I waited one hour ,45 minutes sitting in the exam room. Not one person checked in to update me on his arrival. When he did finally arrive he spent 5 minutes with me because he had to go deliver a baby. He quickly looked at me and said, "Let me just cut to the chase. I've never seen a tumor like this. Have you even looked at your X-ray? I'll have to consult with my colleagues" He wasn't prepared for my visit. It seemed like you would consult your colleagues before my appt. It was a complete waste of my time. I was shocked,stressed and highly disappointed in delivery of this difficult news. I called the office and let them know how unhappy I was. He did call and apologize My hope is they can provide better care . I will not be returning.
