I want to thank Dawn & Sebastien for their unmatched hospitality. Even with a newly born they find…read morethe time to attend their guests in a genuine and caring way. I appreciate everything that was done for us and I would definitely recommend this to family, friends, yelp users and anybody looking to find a very peaceful place with attentive and helpful hosts. They even make you feel like at home before you get to Canada! Very professional and respectful. This is the type of place you would go back to just because of how well you were treated! The well kept room was fully stocked; towels, fridge, snacks, robes and shampoo/conditioner in bathroom, private deck, lots of privacy, among other things. They advise you where to go eat and even get you a discount at some restaurants, they have a tiki bar with speakers, a hammock, spacy yard setup (great for kids), etc. There are restaurants and bars walking distance so no need to worry about drinking and driving. They go out of their way to make you feel like at home. All in all I would recommend this to anybody looking to have a great getaway and as I write this I am debating what day I should come back to this beautiful place! Also, if you are into bungee jumping they help you schedule your jump at Great Canadian Bungee (4.6 stars) and help you save money by discounting the price if you stay here and do the jump!

We first found them from Trip advisor she practically has 5 stars ! I have never been to a place where 99.99% of her reviews are all postive! Anyway we drove up here since we were going to Great Canadian Bungee , and this place is only about a 5 minute drive from the place. She did all the booking for us which was awesome ! We arrived and everything was perfect. The room was gorgeous we stayed at the fantasy suite. Had our own personal balcony , a mini kitchen and lounge area. The room was very clean no complaints at all. Did I say the decoration was gorgeous in our room ? Because it was ! They have a huge backyard and if you have kids they have a play set for them as well. They also have a little tiki bar in the backyard. The landscaping is wonderful thry have a little bit of everything for everyone . The village is about a 10-15 min walk no need to drive. She gave us her personal recommendations and they were also great. Dawn and Sebastian were very welcoming and make you feel like your at home . I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, a nice relaxing getaway.

Really enjoyed our stay this past weekend at Moonstone Manor!…read more This B&B is located in a large, newly renovated home. There are three guest suites each meant for two adults, so at any given time there are at max 6 adult guests. Combined with being out in the country, this means that it is nice and QUIET! A rare and refreshing quality. There are many things to praise but I cannot continue without mentioning that Susie and Mark, the owners, are the best asset of this business. They are both incredibly welcoming, hospitable, and attentive, while also being conscious of giving you space as a guest to do your thing. Upon checking in, Susie sat down with us to discuss breakfast. She is careful to note any allergies or aversions, and to review the menu in advance! We were able to schedule our breakfast for any time between 7-9am. Breakfast itself was generous and more importantly, delicious! We had yogurt with fruit and homemade granola, quiche, potatoes, a stuffed tomato, juice, and all the coffee we could drink. The last thing I want to focus on is that this house is remarkably CLEAN. Susie and Mark have two friendly, quiet dogs and two cats, but unless you are looking right at them you'd never know it. I am actually allergic to dogs and cats, and had zero reaction during my two night stay. In her past Susie worked in a healthcare field and it shows...this is one of the cleanest houses I've ever been in. But it did not feel sterile and cold, quite the opposite. I happened to be visiting for a wedding in Kanata but I will happily stay at Moonstone Manor anytime I need to be in the Ottawa area. It's a quick 20 minute drive downtown to the ByWard Market/Parliament/National Gallery/etc. I can't see myself ever getting a hotel in the city knowing that this is an option. All that to say, if you are thinking of staying here, do it!

The breakfasts were great and varied: bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs or an egg and cheese casserole, french toast, something a little different each day. The location is very convenient and you can walk into Norwood's little downtown to the diner. It's a 10 minute drive to Potsdam and 25 minutes to Massena. It's also worth noting that the accommodations come at a very nice value! I would highly recommend staying here and hope to again the next time I need to go up to Potsdam.

When I'm in the Ottawa area, I always try to stay at the Carleton Heritage Inn in Carleton Place…read more You can't really call this place a hotel, though, because they don't seem to have a staff per se -- just a few folks on the premises running about during the day and maybe no one after dark. Some might call it a polite Faulty Towers, but I'd say it's more like a bed-and-breakfast without the breakfast. If you can get past that reality, you'll find the Carleton Heritage a well-appointed and historic building whose rooms have almost all of the amenities you would expect in a good hotel at rates usually cheaper than Ottawa. On my last visit, the outdoor temperature reached minus-40 degrees Fahrenheit during the night and I remained warm and happy in my room after a decent dinner in their small restaurant. It's a cozy and relaxing place even though you might expect John Cleese to pop up at the front desk.
