We drove past several times before finally stopping in with my two littles. After doing so, I can guarantee that we will not be coming back. This is truly not the fault of the various artists whose work is sold here- a lot of the products displayed were actually very pretty and nice. We may have bought something if it were not for the older woman worker there who made us feel very uncomfortable. The moment we walked through the door, she hovered around us, standing uncomfortably close to myself and my children. The smell of cigarette smoke inside the building was overbearing. When I told her we were just browsing, she ignored me and then became pushy with my children, frantically showing them product after product in an attempt to get us to buy something before we walked out the door. She would not take a hint as I had to repeatedly physically move my children away from her. On our way out of the door, she made a remark about how difficult people can be and how life would be easier for her if others could just adopt the "happy hippie way." Overall just a really odd experience. If you do shop here, please do not send your children in alone with cash because this woman really does not take no for an answer.

My wife Samantha was looking for a contractor to build an outdoor kitchen for me and found and interviewed three to four different vendors. Ultimately Chad won our business with a bid that represented the best value and the most aggressive timeline. Chad's subcontractors were all professional and showed up on time. They made recommendations along the way that ultimately cost us a bit more money, but they were well received and well worth it in the end. Chad is an excellent project manager and has good relationships with his subcontractors which is key in getting them to show up nowadays. Chad was frequently on the jobsite checking on progress and ensuring we were happy with each phase of the project. Chad's project management skills are what sets him apart from other contractors in my mind. He plans for each phase of the project and ensures the client is happy before proceeding to the next phase which eliminates surprises, costly redoes, and keeps the project on time. Given the opportunity, my wife and I would certainly consider Chad and Beyond the Backdoor as a frontrunner for another outdoor project. I was told the cleanup could not be completed because of rain, yet the company still came out and mowed the lawn on two separate occasions. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the lawn had been mowed twice, which led to confusion regarding billing. I paid the first invoice, but I did not realize a second invoice had been generated until later. The biggest issue was communication. Updates were either very limited or non-existent, making it difficult to know what services were being performed, when they were being performed, or why scheduled work was being canceled. Clear and timely communication could have prevented much of the confusion and frustration. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company for customers who expect reliable scheduling and consistent communication.
