This is Psych Hospital--expect: No cosistency, each staff has different expectations for patients, and especially consider when you arrive (generally traumatized) NOTHING is explained to you. You are expect to 'follow others'. If you ask the staff how do I know who to contact for what? who is SW? It takes forever to get info. Absolutely no way to get exercise; if you want to walk the halls, it's only about 30 yard. Often were out of tops/lotion....basic needs. read more

Worst facility ever. Tried to give time to "trust the process" but no - can't do it. Tricked a family member at intake to sign a form to keep for longer instead of just the standard 72 hours.. patient was getting better at day 2-3 but by day 5 the facility has caused things to worsen instead of continue to improve. Family member would have likely been home by now if not tricked. If I could give zero stars I would. How can a facility that is supposed to be helping a patients mental health have a patient not actually see a doctor for days? The doctor does rounds at night (like seriously at night! 10pm and still waiting to see the doctor for the day), so if the patient doesn't refuse meds to stay awake then the doctor just "sees" the patients while the patients are sleeping so they can't even talk to the patients to see what is wrong? They prescribe meds that the patients previous medical history shows they can't take, on top of other meds which end up giving the patients an allergic reaction... but yet they aren't around to monitor them? Or give the patients an option of changing or seeing another doctor during normal waking hours? After a certain age, and when you have physical disabilities you are often in bed early even without meds to help sleep! Have any previous medical history for physical disabilities? Good luck! They won't give the normal doctor prescribed medication (not even talking major meds! Daily allergy medicine? Nope! 5 days in and still waiting.. Correct dose of Tylenol and ibuprofen because a chronic pain patient has been off opioids for years? Nope - one ibuprofen or one Tylenol! Every 8 hours! Took days to just get cholesterol medication!) After days of being told they have received "all" the patients previous health records upon intake only to find out that nope! They only have some history from the previous year. And when you send the records they don't take it into consideration anyway! How is your mental health supposed to improve when your physical health is deteriorating in the facility? While it is understood that mental health facilities don't do general medical diagnoses (you can't know everything!) they should at least be taking into consideration other medical records to continue the care prescribed by those doctors that do specialize in those other issues. Especially since physical ailments often can trigger mental ailments. Mental health facilities should be helping patients get better - not worse! Oh and try to transfer to another facility or other care options? Good luck! The doctor needs to sign off and the social workers don't call back. Call to complain? And you'll hear "oh this is the best doctor in the hospital! He has been practicing over 40 years!" Sure the doctor may know his stuff, but if he can't actually talk to patients what good is it? Family member hasn't actually "seen" him until day 5! Top it all off - the facility doesn't have any patient advocate offices to reach out to in order to have someone there advocating for their proper care. read more

Resubmit update from 4 years ago. A DOCTOR TREATING ME AS A PATIENT, ADDRESSED ME WITH ANOTHER PATIENTS FILE, AND KEPT ME FOR 3 ADDITIONAL DAYS AGAINST MY RIGHTS AND WITHOUT CONSENT. THEY GOT VERBAL CONSENT FROM Providence Novi which I never consented to. Medicaid fraud as well as going against my questions related to the EXTENDED care I received. Total 9 days, against my consent. Gaslighting me into not being heard. So I stayed quite about my trauma as I am a victim/survivor of sex trafficking and they refused to believe my current experiences leading up to my stay there. Put me on an anti psychotic for acute psychosis and I stayed on med for 3 years as it affected my work, mental health and cognitive decline all because this drug is used for Psychosis and ASD which I told them I was on the spectrum but used this combo of MH disorders to suggest and put me on Ability as it treats both. Whatever! What were they trying to do? Erase memories, no ability to concentrate, almost losing my internship. That I worked almost two years into my degree to get. They took an Oath to not do harm. They do not talk to the patient or do any exercising to help support the needs of thei patient. They give their patient meds after meds. No real psychiatric care. I was a patient here and the medication made me unable to move my tongue so Dr Haddad put me on an extra medication to relieve it instead of changing it. That same medication caused a hormonal imbalance and I began to grow a beard as a side effect and the doctor did nothing for it. I struggled to speak a coherent sentence from the meda and I was trying to ask for my routine med, and when I requested it, the tech got mad since I couldn't clearly say what I needed, so she came from around the counter and got in my face to intimidate me. The doctor removed another medication that I was on for 3 years and I was barely tapered off. The hospital stored my belongings at intake and said they didn't have them when I was discharged, which was my cell phone and car keys. They later called me over a month later telling me to pick up my belongings. The facility is also kept pretty clean. The staff is overall good at their jobs. Some of the techs are especially great, and I had the pleasure of meeting them. But there's one specific tech who's name I can't recall but she's older and wears a wig. She has an overly flowery and bubble demeanor but when she had anything that was atypical (which is me) she became hostile, and I have never dealt with a tech more unpleasant. She should have been disciplined with her intimidating me, but it's Detroit and I guess that behavior is dismissed. I hope I never have to go to this facility ever again, it was a nightmare for me, and I stayed for 5 weeks. read more

I had a deeply negative experience with this doctor. Their approach to patient care was highly unprofessional. They relied heavily on brief, impersonal FaceTime calls, often failing to address concerns or provide adequate support. Additionally, they seemed more interested in prescribing medications than in engaging in meaningful dialogue. Their disregard for patient input and their tendency to overmedicate led to serious negative consequences. Doctor overseeing my care referred to me as another patient with their file in hand and called me grandiose because I asked to leave. I was already at day 5 and knew my rights however I wasn't listened to at all. They continued to keep me there for a total of 9 days. Put me on a medicine that ruined my next 3 years of my life. It should've never been prescribed for my disorder to begin with. Now I have regular doctors questioning my care at that time as they don't see a reason why I was prescribed the medicine to begin with. This medication has affected my college studies and work performance negatively. This place is a scam keeping Medicaid patients just for the extra money coming in. this place was a nightmare. i came out of stonecrest hospital more traumatized than how i went in. i really wish i was exaggerating when i say this. the "doctors" did not care for me at all, they put me on so many medications that i couldn't function, they laughed at me when i said another patient sexually harassed me and blamed it on his medical condition, and the food was absolutely putrid. id say the ONLY nice thing about this place is that it is clean and a few of the bhas were friendly. i felt like a test subject when i was here. please do NOT send your loved ones here if you actually love them. the best way to make this place better is shutting it down. you need a whole new factory reset. read more

I hope I NEVER need to go to a place like this! I was there 9 days. They did not want to release me but I insisted I could do better at home. I was able to perform functions I could not upon my arrival and felt they were hindering my progress in recovery. I lost 12 pounds because the food was so awful and non nutritional that I could not eat most of what was served. When I arrived they immediately put me in bed and did not provide a walker until they assessed me which was several days later. Coming directly from the hospital after spine surgery I had been using a walker and was walking down the hall. I believe it was all about the insurance and them wanting to get paid. I understand there are certain protocols that need to take place I just feel my best interest was not taken into consideration. You can only shower twice a week and you had to be supervised. The temperature in the room could not be controlled so I had to turn it off at night so it would be comfortable. Therapy was only a couple times a week and it was less than an hour so you're just sitting there doing nothing all day. read more

First of all.. my dad petitioned me because I have severe anxiety and ran out of my meds. I was in botsford Beaumont for 3 days before they sent me to stonecrest. This was not my first rodeo. Ive been to many mental hospitals . Mostly due to depression and I have substance abuse issues. But I am clean currently. PLEASE ... IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES..OR YOU YOURSELF NEED HELP , DO NOT..I REPEAT.. DO NOT GO HERE! YOU WILL 100 PERCENT COME OUT OF THERE TRAUMATIZED AND YOUR MENTAL HEALTH WILL START TO DECLINE AFTER A WEEK. the Dr's see you every day but for about only 30 seconds if that. I'm a very friendly person and polite. I walked in and I just smiled and was a Lil energetic from just lying around constantly. I by the way have my own psychiatrist at home. And have been through therapy my whole life. This "psychiatrist " .. instead of greeting me back politely like I did to him, called me manic very rudely. Ive never been manic or called that. He also has me on paper as bi polar 1. Which is manic highs and lows. All because I was polite.. smiling... and just friendly. He put me on some anti psychotic drug and took me off some meds my own psychiatrist prescribed me. He did not help me at all. There's no therapy there. Only group therapy ( when they feel like it) one time one of the BHA'S which stands for behavioral health assistant ( pretty sure that's what they're called) they are the ones that are always there helping the nurse with vitals and stuff... I found him going through my underwear and stuff. And when I was trying to actually sleep they will leave your door open and talk so loud with the bright lights from the hallway shining right in on you. I had to cover my eyes with a blanket. Or keep getting up to shut the door. They check on you every 15 minutes all day and all night. So they push open your door and leave it. During the night too. Some of the bha workers were good to me. Salina is one of the best. Hope I spelled that right. She listened to me and always checked on me. I wish I wrote down some names. They deserve to be recognized. Unfortunately one bha I feel was racist. I won't call her out but I never complained or anything. I was polite and took care of myself the whole time. One night one of the new patients who I believe was manic and Schizophrenic got really irritated. Long story short the 2 bha working were unprofessional and let it get to the point where the patient was VERY out of control . They waited 20 minutes during which she was hollering and flipping out screaming to call back up. 10 minutes later the workers come in through the locked door. SHE ESCAPED as they walked in. Just let her run right past. I was right there watching the whole thing while everyone else was in the day room . I was trying to use the phone which is right by the door. They got her but they like pushed her into the door and her lip busted open and blood was every where. They were yelling at her and not even trying to de escalate the situation. Girl was still flipping out and all they did was surround her bullying her. WE ARE THERE FOR MENTAL HEALTH HELP . AND THEY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT US AT ALL. Any way...I have ptsd. So when I saw the blood and stuff my blood pressure sky rocketed. I started to almost faint. They were too busy with the other patient that I couldn't ask for help. And when they were conair done giving her shots of Ativan which didn't do anything to her... she was still awake pounding on the door to the padded room. There were patients crying and not doing well. I told one of the bhas who was jyst standing around on her phone that I didn't feel well at all and I didn't feel safe there especially finding out that the girl that flipped out was going to be my room mate. The bha ignored me and I said again. " did you hear me? I said I'm not feeling right and I don't feel safe!" She mumbled something. I then looked at two other patients sitting next to me who also couldn't believe that I was being ignored... I looked at them and said in front of her..." is this really happening right now?? She's ignoring me!" Then she walked away. When they finally took my BP it was sky high when I normally don't have high blood pressure only when I'm stressed. The nurse did nothing for me. She gave me an extra pill of that anti psychotic. Which by the way I took myself right off of when I got home. Oh and they don't tell you anything about when you are leaving until the day before. I was there for 14 days plus 3 in the hospital before stonecrest. It was a nightmare. Oh and during one of the only groups we had that day cause they will tell you there are tons is groups which there isn't... all they did was talk about sex and I'm asexual so it grossed me out and made me feel uncomfortable. My son was sent to Stonecrest. He was assaulted by another patient and then the staff lied about it occurring. I spent a lot of time to try to make sure this never happened again. The hospital administration refused to speak to us, and the CEO would not return calls. The ombudsman spoke to us and tried to help but, after looking into it, they were no longer available and we were told they were not working there any longer. After the assault the hospital at first tried to deny it occurred. The nursing staff admitted it, but hospital administration stonewalled and avoided any and all contact with us. DO NOT ever send a loved one to this place. This opinion is coming from a Mental Health professional, dad, and his mom a Physician. read more

My son has been here twice in the adolescent unit. My sister has also been here I believe 3 times. The staff and psychiatrists are wonderful and listen to you. The psychiatrists kept in touch with me and my loved ones were able to call me. I was able to visit and I have had no problems with Stonecrest anytime my LO's were there. It's a nice clean facility and the patients are treated with respect. My son became very friendly with the staff and they were like family to him. The only compliant my son and sister said is the beds are hard and the food is not good. But, they do their job and listen to family members and that makes all the difference. read more

I will attempt to get the records of my child's stay at StoneCrest to determine which doctors prescribed medications that required his hospitalization for a possible fall injury and high values in a CK lab test. I have since learned more about the care at StoneCrest from my child i.e. drooling from powerful drugs, lack of sleep, slurred speech, crying, falling and severe mania that was not present at admission. I've never been able to talk directly to care staff besides the floor desk attendants. I've reached a social worker a couple of times and out of the blue the supervising nurse telling me of my child's transfer due to medical issues. Conveniently they do not allow visitors due to covid. This would help family understand the type of care and condition our family member is in. Note, the receiving hospital allows visitation and it is comforting for both the patient and the family member. I MUST get a valid number to call for information as her mother has just had major surgery and her my niece has to contact her! This is a horrid place to stay. The food aline was disgusting I dropped from 130 to 105 lbs while in there. I was forced to take medications I had never taken before. So I tried to refuse the drugs and that's when they started forcing me to get a shot. Before I left they shot me up with some really bad drugs I lost all functions of my body couldn't talk lost all fine motor skills for almost 6 months this lasted. While I was in there I was writing up requests for other patients who had been so drugged up they were drilling on themselves. One night a man was locked up in his room and they refused to open the door all night they locked him inside. If you tried to report abuse you got a shot. They're were a lot of young people in there against there will. I have no mental health issues and without any meeting with a doctor they claimed I had several different mental issues. This place is unbelievable. Haddad will drug you if you try to find help else where. The place is disgustingly dirty you have to ask for toothpaste everyday if they bring out the cart of hygiene products for you for the day. They're were 2 people in that entire place that actually cared about people. This place is a nightmare. I was so drugged when I first got there I didn't wake up for almost 3 days. No counseling at all and I had to be the social worker to get a move on my case to get me out they held me as long as they could without reason. I am of sound mind. How do I sue this place what lawyers would go after Haddad and his practise. This is a nazi camp.​ read more

Still a zero. Wanted to clarify that the doctor, who hadn't met child yet but hs been prescribing her meds, gave her long acting Haldol! 28 day dose! One of the reasons her personal doctors and parents kept trying to get a hold of her doctor, nurses, anyone who would take the information... Is that my daughter has had severe negative reactions and Tardive dyskinesia from Haldol. We now consider it a medication she is allergic to. ! So, because of these reasons, I went there unannounced to remove her from the hospital AMA/ against medical advice. Then the doc finally got on the phone with me, probably afraid I. would make a scene, which, of course I was Ready to do if needed. I just kept repeating to the front desk that I was her mother, I was here to pick her up, she was not being treated properly and in fact has been mistreated. The dosing with these long- acting meds is such that you can't change some other meds the next doc wants to try for 28 days. This was a problem when she was Re-Hospitalized elsewhere two days later. I'm glad I got her out, the surprise pickup method worked along with repeating frequently and gradually louder and louder until people's ears started pricking up and listening( "I am her mother, here to take her home, Your staff either lies or you don't return calls Frome her psychiatrist, psychologist or parents. We left messages and paper notes with staff. You've been treating her for a week with powerful drugs before you met her. You have been giving Haldol to someone who has a history of tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled facial and other movements that can become permanent, She had it for 18 months after stopping Réglan, which was started when she was a baby. She wasn't suicidal at discharge. She is anonymous because, if she ever has to be sent there again, they can't retaliate! You usually have no choice or the hospital you are sent to; it could be bad or mediocre, as there are no good inpatient psych facilities any longer, or unless you can afford 40-60K per month for 6-12 months! Our mental health system is a friggin' joke! read more

First of all this facility does NOT care about patients rights whatsoever. The staff abuses patients, Dr. R.K. does not even come in the facility to see his patients and fraud is being committed. No one is given the 72 he voluntary commitment and stays are no less than 10 days. There is no therapy, no nutritionist, in house kitchen and food is carry out brought to facility that does not meet patients individual needs. Midnight staff regularly sleeps and they not only had 2 junkie nurses on staff but my meds were stolen as a result. Social worker didn't have a clue how to do case management, evaluations that should have been completed within 24 hrs were not and the ones completed were done without the patient and included lies so they could get insurance reimbursement rather than discharge in a timely fashion. No covid precautions were taken. No hand sanitizer used, patients were routinely overmedicated with Haldol. I was assaulted by MN staff and sustained a compression fracture in my lower spine and my right arm was completely covered from shoulder to wrist from a busted blood vessel. I received no outside medical treatment. I never saw Dr. N.K. the entire time l was admitted 5+ weeks because he left the country for 4 weeks and refused to discharge me. I have PTSD and Addisons disease neither of which is a mental illness BTW but this idiot didn't know what Addisons disease even was nor did 90% of the staff. I reported this facility not only to Medicare but to United Health Care as well. I have a nursing degree and have worked in the medical field since 1981. Anyone who would give this place more than a negative rating obviously hasn't had the displeasure of being a patient under this roof. No one should be treated the way they treat people here. This is suppose to be a hospital not a prison but I've never in my career ever seen worse treatment of people. Take your loved one anywhere but here because if they haven't killed anyone yet they will. read more

I would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy. The staff were very rude and condescending to the patients. You could never find a nurse when you needed one they hid in the nurses station. Connor the social worker was very helpful. Thats the only thing I can say of Stonecrest. Best I've come across to date. The other 3 or so people who answered the phone when I called were worthless. Took about 6 days though to really have a half way understanding of wth is going on. The problem isn't Stonecrest persay, the problem is the ENTIRE SYSTEM IS SO DEEPLY ENTRENCHED INTO A DYSFUNCTIONAL, BARELY-OPERTATIONAL EXISTENCE OF IT'S OWN, PRACTICALLY MIRRORING THOSE IT INTENDS TO SERVE. Its easy to prey upon the most dependent, fragile, mentally ill population and too many so called professionals DO. Since I have no way of speaking to my adult son or seeing my son while he's there I have no way of knowing how HE is feeling, how HE is perceiving his Tx there. He is mute now for the most part. No visitation for adults. That's the worst part. But what are the options. All the options are ALL piss poor at best. All I know is this...he is undoubtedly 100 times worse now 3 yrs later after starting Tx then before he started into the system. I'm close to letting him go do what he wants, "live off the grid", to either sink or swim or find some semblance of peace on his own. To date, there are no good options. All our options and proven to be bad so far. Maybe his own idea is best. Trying a few more things and that might be what happens. read more

I've never submitted a Yelp review for anything. So, if it's possible, I'd give this place zero stars. The staff is unbelievably horrible. I've waited hours to try to speak to someone. I wait for 30 minutes and then get hung up on. If I do reach someone, they don't know my child, they have no specific treatment plan and no goals, etc. they continually tell me he'll be released when he's "stable". This is completely arbitrary with no real meaning. I would not allow someone I detest to go there. It is beyond frustrating to try to work with them and the quality of staff (including the "supervisor" I met with in person) are so awful. Do not allow anyone to go here read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My brother went to a hospital in Pontiac because he was fainting and was worried. This was on Sunday, October 30th. He was transported from there on Sunday to this place in Detroit, and doesn't even know how he got there. The original hospital refused to tell us anything and said they didn't know where he was, and he was declared a missing person and the police got involved. FINALLY after that he called my other brother. He said they just keep giving him all these meds that make him feel crazy and not okay. My mom was only able to talk to him for 2 minutes before they took the phone. I have called 19 times since Wednesday, and no one has answered the phone. I don't know if my brother is still alive let alone anything that's happening. How can they just not talk to the family? Why are they giving drugs that are making him go crazy when he originally went to the hospital because he was fainting. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen, and they're messing with the wrong family at this point. read more

All this place does is medicate. They do not actually work towards resolving "why" a person is in there to help them gain better coping skills. They do not disclose all medications given even if you are on the release of information. They withhold information. They lie when you ask questions. They seem to always be in the middle of shift change. I swear it takes seems to take 3 hours to change over a shift. The cleanliness of the facility is little to none. Human feces all over. Dirty in all the units. Don't worry, the front area is clean to maintain the appearance that they are. 30 & 40 year olds trying to fight 18 year olds that have never been exposed to anything like that their entire life. So disgusted with the facility. See attached photos for a discharge of medications for someone who had a anxiety and mental breakdown first week of college. First time away from home, lots of homework, new environment, new people, new teachers, and began to feel overwhelmed. Had stayed up the night before working on homework so he was extremely tired. Maybe this young man needed help with managing his schedule. With high school it's pretty simple. Everyday they have the same thing. Home same time everyday. Dinner same time. Now they have something outside of the norm. Welp, StoneCrest says, "Sedate them all!" read more

His state ID, Social Security card, ATM card, cell phone, money and apartment keys were all missing. He is now suicidal. They did not want him to call police to make a report and they refused to let him use the phone to call police. Do not go there. We have no answers. We just want his ID, SS and insurance cards back. No one seems to be willing to help us. Avoid this place. No help is better than this place that allows it's employees to steal from patients. read more

Worse than Havenwyck. I went to this facility as an adolescent twice in November of 2019 and the beginning of this year. Although most of the staff are ok, most of the nurses and head psychologist are horrible. The nurses usually ignore you and hide away when you need something. The head psychologist barely listened to me and just brushed me off like I was incompetent. The food for the most part was nasty, but I did like the salad bar. Unlike other psychiatric hospitals there was no gym, or library or outside area or what not. There was only a common room where we spent about 3/4 of our time in. Even if I wasn't feeling good I couldn't go to my room and rest. I've had many items go missing to never be found again. I had multiple seizures for the first time in my life in this hospital. I also watched other patients have seizures right in-front of me. There was always ants crawling around, and the staff never cared. When getting my blood drawn the practitioner just jabbed the needle into me. Other than all of that it was ok. Music therapy, craft therapy, and regular therapy was kind of helpful. Some of the staff cared about my eating disorder. But I wouldn't really recommend as your first option. read more

There are some really good people who work here so I give them credit but overall, a terrible unorganized place. The staff does not communicate with each other about patients needs being met. The stay was extremely stressful due to some of the patients bring extremely loud and having melt downs through out the day and in the middle of the night, and some of the staff are rude and careless with the patients. I was not made aware that I was allowed to have access to items like a journal until a social worker told me on my last day. Would have been nice to be made aware of that since I'm there for TREATMENT and since no one was helping me actually work through my problems it would have been nice to have something to do. I wonder what else I was missing out on because no one cared to let me know. I did not see the patient rooms get cleaned (other than garbage pick up) one time while I was there. The shower curtain had a build up of mildew and looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. I did not see the room or bathroom floors get mopped or the toilet wiped down even one time during my stay. There were ants crawling around everywhere in the day room and a complaint about it to the staff was ignored. Once I finally was discharged, I drove an hour home before realizing that some of my belongings were missing and had to drive an hour back to pick them up. I sat at the gate for 10 minutes with 5 cars sitting behind me before someone finally let us in. Realized later that I was STILL missing an item, but it wasn't of much importance and I should have checked so I'm not bothering to go back. Im wondering why all my belongings were not in one place, that seems bizarre to me. I'm now trying to acquire a doctor's note so that I can get back to work, I just called the facility and was transferred 6 times before being hung up on. Called back again and asked for a supervisor and was sent to voicemail again. I left a message, hopefully they will get back to me but at this point I'm not expecting much. MHA This job gives you a 50/50 chance of survival from the begining the old staff are all on a side of their own this includes the CFO LPN MHA and HR it only take one to dislike you for Example a nurse don't like you now the nurse is talking about you with other staff and doing things like writing you up for false things and just causing all type of problems next they tell a upper management friend like the CFO and they start coming on the floor to start problems for you next you find yourself back and forth in HR with the what at first seems to be a beautiful black women until she speaks to you and treats you as if she's far more superior than you and who's personal moto is whoever snitch first is who's right when half the time people have already made false write ups because they messing with you and wanna cover their backs with the moto of HR and when I say HR not Mrs Foster In this job the staff is more crazy than the patients I would say There is a power struggle with the entire staff and they treat new people horrible but if you can suck up and follow behind the older staff you might keep your job cause being on time and doing your job is clearly not enough note the high turn over read more
