The guide immediately asked his clients to reel up. Our fish got tangled up in one of the lines and he immediately cut that line so that we were able to get the fish in. We have finished at buoy 10 for many years and run into similar situations several time and the guide was unwilling to pull their lines from the water to help out a fellow fisherman, resulting in a lost fish. I feel that this is the one of the classiest things I have seen on the water. We have friends coming from Toronto next year and I will try to get them on his boat. He impressed me as a quality guide

Curtis didn't bat an eye and rather than canceling the trip he approached it with can do attitude "Lets GO"! We had 3 adults and 3 "kids" 10, 14, and 14. Curtis was professional, courteous, and friendly. It was a great trip. We limited out and enjoyed the day regardless of the conditions. As someone who has worked in the boat industry, I can attest to the quality, maintenance, performance, and attention to detail Curtis has put into his boat. Yes, you can bring your own food n board. Our birthday girl brought a stack of pizzas, chips, dips and a birthday cake. Yes, they get you as up close to the falls as legally allowed. Yes, there are plenty of tables and comfy sofa style benches to relax on while you take in the sunset. Yes, they have bluetooth speakers so you can all jam to your favorite tunes. Yes, they provide a karaoke machine so your party can garble the 2 whole hours if they want. I really can't think of a downside except that the birthday girl kept saying that she wished the night wouldn't end. Thanks to the great staff who kept the drinks flowing and go us off on time and gave us a little extra time to enjoy ourselves.

The crew was really friendly and attentive, and the price of drinks was surprisingly cheap. The host of the evening did a great job toeing the line between giving facts/playing tour guide and letting people enjoy themselves. It was a good mix of interesting info without being overbearing. The tour goes south down way to Dunthorpe, turns and comes back on the far side of Ross Island, then goes up past the Fremont Bridge for unobstructed sunset views before heading back to dock. The price for the tour was right -- it was cheaper than the Portland Spirit's dinner cruise (the only tour they offer for sunset) and longer than their late afternoon happy hour cruise. Overall I recommend Island Style for a fun and easy tour of the Willamette!

He gave us the option to reschedule or give it a shot knowing the bite could come back any time. We chose to reschedule for a few days out. On fishing day, there were only 4 of us anglers, Captin Jarrid, and our deck hand Ayden. Jarrid & Ayden set the trolling lins out and we hit the tuna real quick. A couple guys landed, but the bite died down. They set the trolling lines out again, switched jigs a couple times and we hit the tuna school again. It was non stop action till we finally ran out of bait. We got tons of fish. Awesome group of guys on board. Jarrid & Ayden worked real hard and this trip was more than worth it. 8/12/25 - The lady at the booth was nice at first and let us drive in to check out the campsites…read more it was around 7 PM. We found a spot and sat at the picnic table to discuss whether we wanted to stay. The neighboring campers had two dogs tied up to the picnic table where we would camp and their group was quite loud. We were trying to figure out if we wanted to set up camp there given the lack of privacy. After about 40 minutes, the same lady approached us again, this time very rudely. She told us this wasn't a day use area and that we needed to either choose a site or leave immediately. Her tone was unwelcoming and unnecessarily harsh, especially since we were just trying to decide. We hadn't booked anything online since it was a spontaneous visit. I had come to the area to visit my dad's grave across the road. In the end, none of the sites felt secluded, and the overall atmosphere didn't feel inviting. We decided to leave and definitely wouldn't recommend camping there based on how we were treated.

A 0.7 mile paved footpath circles the pond and is a favorite of the locals. Four floating piers welcome the fisher. Non-motorized boats are allowed in the pond, but I have seen only one there in all the years I have visited. A few ducks, geese, and coots live here year round, and many more visit in winter.
