The band always puts on a terrific show and I'm always down to explore a new area and try some local eats. We arrived at Refined Fool probably about an hour or so before the show, and we were able to snag an absolutely choice table mere feet away from the stage. I tried several of their beers, starting with a flight and then moving on to a couple of pints, and I enjoyed all of it. I also figured I should eat something, so I went ahead and ordered The Spicy Coward ("Fried chicken sandwich topped with slaw, pickles, and Spicy Rebel Sauce"), and we decided to share the Poutine ("Guerrilla fries topped with St. Albert cheddar cheese curds and housemade gravy") as well. Everything was delicious. I enjoyed the heck out of my chicken sandwich, as it contained a perfectly-fried piece of chicken that was complemented by a tasty, zingy sauce and those pickles and slaw. The poutine was a cut above, as well, as it packed a spicy punch and the gravy itself was far tastier than most. We inhaled everything happily. As a music venue, Refined Fool is an amazing venue too. As I mentioned, we were super close, so it was just such a treat to see one of our favorite bands so up close and personal. And it was pretty great being able to sit the whole time. I'm almost jealous of people who live in Sarnia now, because if Refined Fool is any indication, they've got it really, really good.

Gorgeous…read more Located just south of Grand Bend, this picture perfect winery & cidery has become a day-trip destination for couples, girls trips, bachelorettes, mom's-day-outs and everything in between. It's just so stinkin' pretty. The grounds are beautiful and the swing seats are really cool. Everywhere you look is breathtaking, and of course a photo opportunity. The food and drinks are reasonable. The charcuterie and "Apple & Brie Pinsa" (pizza) are my recommendations, along with a flight so you can find your new favourite drink. The "Peach Apple Hard Cider" is mine. Did you know that all of their wine and cider is gluten free? They have a gluten free menu and can accommodate most food allergies. They also have some really good merch. And not just clothing, I'm talking candles, chocolate bars, honey, and even those super neat lids for cans.
