My ob/gyn referred me to this practice when I was pregnant years ago. I scheduled an interview with Dr. Mitchell Sollod and was so impressed with him that I noted his name down when I delivered my daughter. I was surprised that he came later in the day to check on her and meet his new patient. We've seen Dr. Sollod, his daughter Dr. Janet Sollod and Dr. Fung during the past 11 years. They have always been caring and nurturing with both of my kids. When my daughter was diagnosed with kawasaki's disease, they went over and beyond my expectations, really being an authority in the hospital on her care and making sure her follow ups after her treatment were scheduled. I never worry about my kids having access to medical care because I can always call 24 hours (and I have) and get in touch with one of the doctors in the practice. I wish they saw adults because I'd love to have a PCP like these doctors. read more

The care provided by the doctors (Dr. Sollod in particular) is outstanding. However, the administration (billing/scheduling/assistance medical or otherwise) is the worse than you can imagine especially since Sutter health took over. I am all for centralization / streamlining / cost-cutting / removing redundancies etc if they are efficient/organized and are passing on the savings to the patients. However, when they give the impression of not knowing their ass from their elbow and you are left in a Kafkaesque state of calling every day on and on for several days for booking a slot for something simple like a flu shot, the system is definitely broken. Very surprised to see that this office was rated 4-1/2 stars. Do my visits occur on bad days? My son has been a patient for 7 years and each time we pay a visit, I question why we are still a patient of Dr. Tucker and the random others we see. The staff is not at all friendly and helpful. It was especially disheartening to see how they treat my son. As a mother, I would've liked to hear encouraging words, especially when vaccines are administered, or gentleness at the very least. Its your child they are treating after all! You want them in the best hands! Its blatantly obvious the staff is not very happy with their job. Their demeanor and customer service is a prime example of that. Non-existent. Also the high turnover is another example of this point. I've noticed different nurses and front desk attendees each time I visit. Maybe its my fault for staying too long, but I just don't see the value in staying with this clinic (you never see your primary doctor!) If you must stay with this practice, I've only had a positive experience with Dr. Fung. I would definitely not recommend Dr. Tucker and the Nurse practioner. But call months in advance because they are always booked! read more

Dr. Janet was our first daughter's (and first child) pediatrician from birth until she turned about a year old, at which time we became economic refugees and moved to the east bay. Our visits were very long and thorough and she was extremely patient with our endless barrage of questions. The advice she gave was specific and sage. We're now in the east bay, and I'm reasonably satisfied with the care my (now two) daughters receive, but really nothing compares to Dr. Janet. We miss her. The advice nurse was also gold. read more

Sad to see someone here do not like Dr Fung. I find him kind of cool and he does great job. My son has very bad allergy and eczema. We have gone through so many difficulties before we found this practice. Dr. M Sollod is our kids' primary doctor but my children see also Dr. Janet Sollod and Dr. Fung. Recently, my kids were hit by bad allergies and virus infection. We met all 3 doctors in different times. Dr. Fung called to follow up 1 week after we met him in the clinics to make sure that my son recovered. I don't see many other doctors would do that. And the ways that Dr Sollod taught us to take care of my children worked amazing. My children's eczema is now under control and we know how to help them when they have allergy hit. read more

Janet Sollod is every bit the nurturing, kind, and competent doctor I wanted for my children. Without any prompting, she was there in the hospital directly after the delivery checking on the health of mother and children, and establishing in me a sense that she would be there for us from then on. We've since been seen by her father and Dr. Fung, also doctors in the Sollod practice. They are all very open with information and provide detailed responses to any questions we ask. read more

Our kids used to go to Allan Johnson, at SF Pediatrics (amazing care and office) but location was out of our way and tricky parking. Pros- friendly service but no one seems to know what is going on and you are placed on hold 2-4x until they figure it out. But they try to. Cons- time and time again I have said to no to flu and HPV shots for my children and yet they insisted and gave them to my 15yr old on his last physical. Dad was with him, only in the waiting room and they didn't even consult him. Just administered. WTF. Then our insurance billed us, WTF. I don't mind paying out of pocket as I did for this sports physical that was out of cycle ($350) but to not pay attention to previous notes from visits or consult is never OK. Do better. read more

She doles out advice and listens without judgment. My daughter just loves her! Dr. Janet was our daughters' pediatricians from birth until we sadly moved away from SF and the girls' were nearly 5 and nearly 1.5. Our older daughter actually liked going to the doctor and warmed right up to Dr. Janet. They took great care of both kids, and great care of us as new parents as well, assuaging our concerns and giving good advice. In particular, when my husband faced a health crisis of his own, Dr. Janet was hugely supportive of us and went above and beyond the call of duty to support our family. I was also impressed by the staff at the office. Marie - the nurse I called on a regular basis - was patient with me, sweet with the kids, and a source of solid information. I am big on customer service and even more so, when you are at the service/direction and care of a Doctor and his team. Dr. Lee has been extremely helpful and patient in helping me understand the fractures on my metatarsals. He really helped put me at ease regarding the recovery and answered all my questions with the outmost patience and mundane explanation to make sure I understood the extend of my damage. Jenn and Sarah (I rally hope I got their names right) have been amazing!! Genuinely asking how I'm doing and showing true care on every visit. The pediatrician we used here was fine, the reason for the poor review is for the god awful service of the staff. They billed without asking for insurance info, then insisted on either a fax or having me come into the office - saying they don't accept email. In a time when electronic images are scanned and emailed constantly - this is not acceptable. When i finally got an email address the receivables lady was exceptionally rude - asking for a specific time when I would email repeatedly. Listen, YOU work FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS, not the other way around. When customers suggest its ridiculous to ask us to come by or fax - because you're too goddamn lazy to check your email for an image you might consider listening to the feedback. read more

We have been coming to Stonestown Pediatrics for the last 4 years, first seeing Dr. Janet Sollod and now Dr. Bonnie Leboff. The doctors and staff here are kind and caring and the office is run efficiently. We definitely experienced greater difficulty after Sutter Health took over this practice - appointment scheduling, billing were all centralized into Sutter so it was more difficult to get ahold of someone specifically in the office (but consolidation is the general trend for doctor offices). The clinical care here is still very good and we never felt like we were being rushed out without all our questions being answered. read more

Dr. Nanci Tucker is the best! Both my kids see her and she is always very patient, gentle and addresses all my concerns thoroughly. I have visited many pediatrician (in the US and abroad) before I found her, and she is the only one that has been able to help alleviate my daughter's severe case of motion sickness. From throwing up a dozen of times during international flights to zero time! Dr. Tucker has completely changed the way we travel, and made our lives so much better by diagnosing and prescribing the correct medicine! I can't thank her enough! I wanted this practice to be great. I gave them a year to see if the issues were resolved and now I will not be returning. My children saw Dr. Fung primarily and had one visit with Dr. Sollod. You can't schedule more then 1 meet & greet appt. And the practice doesn't like scheduling meet & greet appts. at all. If your child has a complicated medical condition, forget about coming here. Dr. Fung has refused to coordinate care and tries to blame any regular childhood illness on my daughter's rare condition. No, a rare condition doesn't cause strep. No, I don't need to see the specialist to make sure. Office staff is rude and unprofessional. The front desk appears bored and irked you are bothering them. The MA's are typically dressed in jeans & t-shirts. Insurance is very difficult for the office to deal with. I was told twice today that I have an HMO. I have a PPO. When I corrected the first person, she sent in another woman who then looked at my card and said 'Oh, we have a copy of this already.' So they had my insurance card and are........unable to read? Dr. Fung is very short tempered and bothered by children. He uses a sing song type voice and is condescending. read more

Update: been seeing a new pedi for a few months now and finally building accurate measurements for my baby and toddler. Not only did Stonestown peds did not rremember us at any visit but they also take poor measurements so of course they will not be able to give us a comprehensive analysis of my children's well-being therefore giving wrong instructions on medications when they were needed. Also, my sons circumcision should had needed extra care. Early on it got stuck and a pedi pulled it back...hurt my little man. Well, I should have kept putting vaseline on it and pulling it back. Now, my son is 1.5 years old we have to use a steroid cream twice a day, holding for 3 sec. It should release in a few weeks. This is minor and he could out grow it. We have taken my daughter to Dr. Sollod since birth. She is awesome. Always patient and friendly. She gives excellent advice. I can always get a same day appointment if my child is ill. The office staff are always great and helpful, and the nurse on staff is amazing. She always remembers my daughter whenever we have had to call, which is not often, and she gives very helpful real world advice. I give a thumbs up to the whole office! read more

We've moved out of SF a year ago and have had to change pediatricians for my daughter. I'm still searching for one who's at least as good as Dr. Tucker. I miss the milestone checkups w/ Dr Tucker where she would ask us questions on my daughter's progress (e.g. at 18 months was she saying a few words, etc). It was both educational and a relief for a first-time parent when the pediatrician checks thoroughly. She was also very good with my toddler (now almost 4) - knew how to get her attention, how to engage her in the visit, and most importantly for my daughter to trust her. My daughter loved her visits. Even when she had to get shots, the assistants would team up at the same time (2 jabs one on each leg at the same time) so my daughter only feels the pain only 'once' - relief for everyone involved. We loved the advice nurse too - Nurse Marie. She had the softest and sweetest voice and would give great advices that didn't make me feel like an idiot first-time mom, no matter how many times I've called her. All in all - we miss Dr Tucker and her team here. read more

Both of my children were seen by Dr Mitchell Sollod and Dr Janet Sollod. We are frankly heartbroken that we have to find new doctors because Sutter Pacific did not supply correct information when it comes to billions. As a result, my health insurance did not have enough information as issues arose and did not get resolved over several months. read more

My two sons had Dr. Sollod for many years, but after LONG waits (around 45-60 minutes!!!) and a few mis-diagnosis, I had to switch. The last time I took my son there, he had a open-skin infection. Dr. Sollod said it was nothing and put some alcohol on it. Over the weekend, the infection got worse and when I took him to urgent care, they said, it was a bad infection and said, "any doctor can tell you this is a serious infection" and that doctor didn't know why Dr. Sollod didn't take a culture of it and took better care of my son. We've been coming here for 8 years. All 3 of my kids are seen here. Patient care is great, the wait is terrible. They're pretty fast at moving you from the waiting room to the exam room. Once you're in, expect to wait least 30-60 minutes each visit before the MD comes in. Bring lots of stuff to keep your kids occupied while you're waiting. read more

This review is specifically for Dr. Janet Sollod. I have given her rave reviews previously on Yelp, but I wanted to add yet another one for her stellar services. My youngest daughter is asthmatic. My husband and I recently changed insurance, and when trying to refill my daughter's inhaler, the pharmacy stated that our insurance only covered generic prescriptions. Apparently there is not generic equivalent for the inhaler a that was needed. So basically, my daughter was without her inhaler for a few weeks! After calling Dr. Janet's office, she went out of her way to obtain a few sample inhalers for us and even offered to loan us a a nebulizer machine until we settled this insurance thing. It's going above and beyond the call of duty the way Dr. Janet does that warrants her 5 stars. I heart her. read more

Dr. Janet Sollod was my daughter's doctor from birth until we moved away when she was just 7 months old. I have tried 2 different pediatricians since we left and have yet to find the warmth, comfort, and openness that I felt with Dr. Janet. I've also realized the value of the office staff there too. All of the other offices that we have tried since leaving lack the friendliness and caring nature that Stonestown Pediatrics' staff has. Nurse Marie was always wonderful answering my questions when I would call in with new mom questions and was sweet and gentle with my daughter as well. We were spoiled with Dr. Janet and Stonestown Pediatrics, and it has been hard to find a replacement. We miss them more and more with each new doctor appointment we attend! read more

I agree 100% with the review from this new mom. I am a new dad myself, couple times when my daughter's pedictrian is not around, the office will arrange us to see Dr Fung. He made you feel like youare wasting his time. A lot of doctors do that, but a pediatric doctor with this kind attiude is unacceptable. Com' on we are new parents, of course, we will have ton of questions. Since we are asian, the office tends to think that we would like to see a asian doctor somehow whenever Dr. Tucker is not around. Well, I could be sensitive, but "No" we refused to see him. Something like a regular checkup, we would rather wait till Dr Tucker come back from vacation. read more

My children have been cared for by Dr. Nanci Tucker for many years and she is the best there is. She is extremely sharp, smart, and really knows her stuff. She is also very personable, down to earth, and professional. Even though she is extremely busy, she takes the time to answer our questions and address our concerns and makes sure my kids are growing up strong and healthy. She even follows up with us on test results and explains what they mean. Yes, she actually calls and speaks to me or wifey. Wow!! If you are a new parent, this is the Dr to see. I should mention Nurse Marie is also outstanding and is a real pro. She is very knowledgeable and is really great with my kids. read more

My son has been seeing Dr. Tucker since he was born last Fall. Dr. Tucker is very caring, knowledgable, and most importantly, patient with our many questions. During a visit, the office was super busy and Dr. Tucker was very distracted and did not spend much time with us. But the next visit, she more than make up for it. The staff at Stonestown Pediatrics are very helpful and experienced, especially the on-duty nurse who's available for phone questions during office hours. Naturally, since this is our first child, we call every time something looks suspicious and the nurse is always great and helpful. read more

So sad to have to lower my rating. Once Stonestown Pediatrics became a member of Sutter Health the family warm feel you used to get when walking in the office or calling is GONE. You are now stuck with calling into a call center with very extended hold times to often only be transferred time and time again. No one has time to make a 10-15 minute call to make a simple appointment. The office staff itself and physicians are very nice when you are at your appointment, but it is way to difficult to have any follow up questions answered in a timely manner. We are actively searching for a new Dr. for the kids. read more

After reading these reviews I was thrilled that Dr. Janet Sollod was taking new patients; however, after my 10 month old's appointment, I was surpised at the difference in my experience with this physician. I was extremely displeased with her bedside manner during my son's appointment. Dr. Sollod seemed a bit regimented and not flexible with her method of patient care. Upon leaving the office, I was very thankful that I have had other experiences with pediatricians and that I know her way is not the only way. Bottom line: After a doctor's visit, one should feel empowered, not isolated, as though you are doing somthing wrong. One more comment, their after hours nurse line is not very helpful. One night I called and they simply followed a protocol from what seemed like the internet and then instructed me to go to the ER. This was very disappointing. read more

I was referred to Dr. Lee by a friend and she has been great! She joined this pratice right before my daughter was born in '08. The staff is great and friendly. You can definitely call in and talk to the advice nurse if needed. They've referred some great doctors i.e, Pediatric dentist, ENT specialist. There's a parking garage which seems to always be full but you can park right across the street at the Stonestown mall parking lot. read more

Ever since I was a child, I have LOVED going to the doctor. I'm not really sure why, but this place was awesome! Now that i'm 22, I still go here... mostly because I don't think I can find a doctor for adults that is as great as these doctors. I've been seen by three professionals - Dr. Mitchell Sollod, Dr. Janet Sollod, and Dr. Tucker. Dr. Tucker is the reason why I have decided that I want to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. The nurses here seem a little standoffish (some of them) but the physicians are great! I'm pretty sure they're doing an excellent job since I am healthy now. Dr. Sollod even took the time to talk to me about problems I may have and felt that I really connected with him even though I hadn't seen him for years. When I have children, I am definitely requesting them as my child's primary care physicians. read more
