I've tried mat classes before, but nothing compares to an equipment class. It's intimidating at first, but the instructors quickly make you feel at ease. As a former dancer, Pilates is my new " jam ". I never thought I'd find a fitness class in my mid-thirties that would make me forget about everything for a moment, and just reconnect with myself. The equipment often feels neglected, and there's a noticeable odor in parts of the gym that makes it uncomfortable to work out. The weight plates in particular sometimes smell like they haven't been properly cleaned, which is pretty off-putting when you're handling them regularly. Weekend mornings are especially frustrating. Staff presence is minimal, and it doesn't seem like cleaning or upkeep is a priority during those times especially with the south Mount Shasta location. There have been multiple occasions where wipes were empty or equipment clearly hadn't been maintained between users. Customer service has also been inconsistent. Some employees come across as uninterested or unhelpful, which doesn't create a welcoming environment. With new management in place, I was hoping for improvements, but so far I haven't seen meaningful changes. This gym has potential--it has the space and equipment--but without better hygiene standards, more attentive staff, and improved professionalism across services, it's hard to justify staying. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

They couldn't care less that I replaced 13 CD players and 8 amplifiers with my own time and money in the last 15 years and provided a large selection of neatly labeled CDs. Also, the pool got colder at the same time, but they can't make it warmer because it will "ruin the equipment". Also, good luck getting anything fixed in less than 2 months because you have to "ask the hospital" to fix it because that is who owns it now. Also is has been closed for 4 months due to mold and painting in the pool room so now the sauna is completely ripped out still and who knows when it will be back. Also, you had to put your payments on hold because they closed it 4 months but today, they said it will cost me $10 a month for the privilege of being put on hold even though I wasn't there.
