Of course, the scenery was wonderful. We attended a wedding and the food was terrific. Our family wants to come back and just vacation and relax. My only concern is with the dishes/silverware. We had to wash our own, but did the people prior to use do the same and did they do a thorough job?

The location has potential, but our stay was highly disappointing…read more First and foremost, the checkout policy requires guests to wash all dishes prior to checking out. This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. If they do not reclean them, then the health and safety of incoming guests relies entirely on the honor system and the cleaning habits of previous occupants. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. The refrigerator and cabinet drawers overlap so tightly that opening the fridge makes the drawers to open, and vice versa. The fridge door is already dented, clearly from this problem. The blinds are old, broken, and don't close all the way. So we had to wake up with the sun every morning, spiderwebs in the ceiling corners throughout the cabin. For the price charged to stay here, guests should at least be guaranteed professional cleanliness. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on all counts.

The restaurant showing different sports games. They have a variety of food on the menu. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The filet was well seasoned. It tasted perfect when dipping the fish in the tartar sauce. The fries were crispy, which is what I like. I will come back to try more food soon.

We had the lodge decorated, inside and outside to accommodate all our guests. Scott did not hesitate to help us move the furniture, chairs and even got our beer kegs set up. We were able to enjoy the grounds with morning walks, late night talks, a fire pit and the deck with an incredible view. It's truly a weekend the entire family won't forget! The staff were friendly and the entire check in process was easy. For the price, we got an individual tiny cabin with two bedrooms and a bath. It came with a simple kitchen and an awesome patio overlooking the, unfortunately, near empty lake. The staff informed us that the lake had been drained to help fight recent California wildfires, so that made me feel a little bit better. Anyways, the cabin was clean and everything you would need for a nice relaxing stay. My biggest qualm was that the hot water did not work so we were not able to take a shower (unless it was ice water cold). And the Internet did not work - not for browsing or streaming pleasure but simply for cell phone service in such a remote area. All in all, a decent spot to stay in the Shasta Lake area.

This is truly the worst golf course I've ever attempted to play. Wife and I were on a western tour…read morein September 2010 and decided to catch nine holes here. Should have suspected something when our rental cart was retrieved from a building and told that the electrics were having a problem, but just reach under and wiggle the wires. Well.....had to do this multiple times on the attempted round. Sometimes went only 20-25 feet before the cart died and had to jiggle the wires again. Finally had to abandon the cart after six holes and walk back to our car, carrying my clubs. Oh.....the course is in terrible shape. Awful greens and fairways. And the pond wasn't even attractive. To add insult to injury, the 9-hole green fee was $15 and the "cart" fee was $15.

Known as Arnold Palmer's Sweet Sixteen of over 300 courses he designed. I started looking for golf deals. I found one on Golf Moose $99 twosome. Cart additional $25 p/p. Still a good deal to play at a resort. Our tee time was today at 9:20 am. There was a frost delay. Fortunately there weren't any players until 8am so there wasn't a backup. The starter had us go out at 9:10am cuz the 9:10 group hadn't shown up yet. We followed a threesome. Soon it became evident it was going to be slow play. The course is spectacular. You're surrounded by trees and water. It's situated in a basin of a former ranch. We finished two minutes behind pace. 4 1/2 hours total. It seemed longer cuz we waited at every hole. Friendly starter and fellow golfers.
