We came by this seasonal setup with our daughter's family, including our 1 year old granddaughter. It is open from mid September to Halloween. There is no admission charge on weekdays, which is when we were there. Some of the things to participate in are open only on weekends, when there is an admission charge. There is some food and refreshments available but we didn't try anything, as we were going to dinner afterwards. Absolutely a fall destination spot if you are looking for a full-day experience. I went on a weekend when everything was in full swing, and although I hesitated at the price, I understand it after spending the afternoon here. I wish the corn maze wasn't an extra charge though. There are a ton of activities for kids and even going without kids is fun. There are carnival rides and games, pies and donuts, cocktails and hot cider (everything is charged separately; don't plan on an inexpensive visit). They have a large gift shop area with a great variety of Halloween decor and home goods. There was live music and even a coven of dancing witches. There are lots of picnic tables under beautifully colored autumn trees for shade. The pumpkin area is large and there is a great selection, but I think it is worth noting that all the pumpkins have been pre-picked and washed. There is no tromping through muddy pumpkin fields to find them on the vines (which I really love doing so I was kinda bummed about that). The setup seems to be intended to enjoy the festivities first, then pick out a pumpkin and head to the car - pumpkins are not allowed to be carried around outside the pumpkin area (I assume to prevent mishaps and messes). If you head straight for the pumpkins, you'll be directed right back to the parking lot afterwards. Parking was easy and free, grassy field style, with an option to pay for a closer spot in the "vip section". This is NOT the place to come if you just want to buy a pumpkin! For just pumpkin-shopping, there is a farm stand just a block or two down the street that sells pumpkins. This place is about the experience. read more

If I could give this place a ZERO amount of stars, I would. It's 6:12pm and they close at 7pm ... now, I am fully aware of their weekend prices of $18/pp to enter and "enjoy" all the activities, however seeing my out of town grandbaby is only 4 months old and wouldn't really enjoy any of it, I thought we'd just buy a few pumpkins and go home. Apparently, according to the security guard, entry is not allowed to the pumpkin area- still would have to pay the full amount for 4 adults- $72 , just to buy pumpkins and then additionally pay the 60¢ per pound of the pumpkins we would choose. The guard did ask the owner if we could just get the pumpkins and leave.... According to the guard- the owner said absolutely not. As he drove up and down the walkway on his golf cart. Niiiiicccceee..... Perhaps - and not just for my family because I will never go back there - let the pumpkin area be free to people to just buy the overpriced pumpkins and have the entrance to the "park atmosphere and attractions" pushed back a little. But as you and I know the owners and their greed don't have the mindset to do that, and why would they especially since they can fleece the locals at 48 minutes before the closing time. read more

One of my personal favorites & fall season to-do must every year. I enjoy the wide selection of activities that are family friendly especially for my 3yr old, the delicious bakery & fresh donuts with cider, and I always pickup a new Halloween decor item to add to my collection each year. Personally I think they have the best selection of pumpkins that are very reasonably priced. My only mild complaint would be I wish they had all the kid activities free with the entrance fee - or at least cheaper like $1-$2 max. Love the farm itself but I was waiting in line with my son inside the bakery at the candy section. Wait around 15-20 min, when it's finally our turn to buy the candy and cash out the cashier look dead at me in the face and asked if I was in line this whole time and even asked the person behind me if I was in line. I don't even care about the candies but the fact I stand there all those time and she said I wasn't in line it's really frustrated me especially when the wait was so long . Great place to spend a fun day around WNY during Fall season. It was my first time going to a pumpkin farm and this place was great and tons of pumpkin. We went there for the holiday weekend and it was quite busy. There were a lot of shows and attractions going on. Started by visiting the pumpkin patch which was amazing and decorative then went to visit the corn maze which we had to find clues inside the maze to win a sticker. The maze was huge and fun to walk around beside being scared a couple of time by zombies and clowns inside the maze. After the maze we got foods from vendors which were tasty and filling. At the end we did the free hayride around the farm. Overall, this was a great first experience on a pumpkin farm. Will definitely come back next year to check out the corn maze design. read more

I'm training my service dog and I brought him on a week day when it's free entry everything was closed the only thing open was the haunted house. I was able to show my service dog at a good distance the lamas they were far more interested in him more then he was of them he ignored them. Im in a wheelchair and it wasn't to bad for my chair to get around I got caught on some of the loose gravel but it was a new experience for my dogs training. The gift shop was a little pricey. A friend of mine suggested going to The Great Pumpkin Farm. Problem is, we don't have any children. Many of the activities included with your admission are for children. The hayride is now $5. A few years ago, when I last came to The Great Pumpkin Farm, it was included with admission. You have to basically pay for everything, plus admission, which I find off putting. I did get two small pumpkins, which amounted to $2.50, but really they cost me $12.50. Will I go back? I don't think I will ever return. Went to the Great Pumpkin Farm today for the Fair Food Festival Drive-thru (so I can't really speak for the pumpkin farm itself). Husband and I went around 2:30pm-ish (on a Sunday) and there were SO MANY CARS!!!! We waited in line for about an hour and a half until we got into the "ordering" section of the farm. There are two sections where your orders are taken by the workers there. The first section has kettle corn, fried dough, bloomin onions and fried oreos(? I think). The second section had the other foods like lemonade, grilled cheese, fries, fudge, etc. The worker comes up to your car, takes your order, takes your cash, and then comes back with change and your food. We got a bag of kettle corn, fried dough, fries, and a lemonade. The kettle corn was really good and the lemonade was refreshing (and not too sweet), but the fried dough and fries were a bit disappointing. Be prepared to PAY. It's $18 a person (everyone over two years old) just to walk in the door. Ridiculous. Our family of five was $90 to walk in. They try to schmooze you over by giving you these 'free' tickets to do things like ride once down a slide. Then a $1.00 ticket for the corn maze. The corn maze is $8.00 a person to go through. There are numerous carnival rides and food stands that you would see at a fair. Not much of a 'pumpkin patch' vibe. They also had this cool shooting gallery for kids, but it was $3.00 to play for ONE minute. The bakery was nice, but half of it was just candy you could buy. The only thing I truly loved was the display of pumpkins they had. They had a lot of pumpkins and displayed them nicely. read more

We bring our grandchildren to the Great Pumpkin farm every year. It is fun and exciting for us all. They have many options and quite a variety for the children (ages 3 and 4). My only concern was the balloon vendor. He was very nice and very good to my grandchildren, however, there was a sign on his table that tips were welcome and must be given before balloon animal is made. Well to me, that is not a tip, that is a charge. Other vendors had tip jars and I had no problem giving them a tip but to demand one seemed inappropriate. This certainly won't prevent me from going back, but it will give me second thoughts regarding the balloons. read more

So we went to the Pumpkin Farm to experience The Haunted Forest.... And it trash !!!! So my family of 15 love doin these these hay rides and stuff during Halloween and this year we picked this place due to the forest attraction, we brought our tickets in person Apparently that was Our Mistake because they gave priority to the ppl who brought tickets on line "due to time slots" this wasn't explained on the website or at the ticket counter and it should have been cause it could have made a difference. So they had 2 lines goin and the on line ticketers line flowed like water, while our line NEVER moved!!!! Or when it did it was very slowwwwww , the guy who was in charge of the attraction was very rude and nasty which in return made us rude and nasty . What he didn't see was The ppl in the back of our line started jumping in the other line because they weren't even Checkin tickets . We waited over an hr and it took away from what could have been a great experience, needless to say we won't go there next year ... maybe back to Becker Farm. read more

Took an elementary group for a school tour. The hayride to the pumpkin patch went through the haunted trail which still had some random pieces, hospital beds, torture devices, bloody mannequins, still out. The "pumpkin patch" was a mowed field behind the pumpkin launching game, with a few pre picked baby pumpkins scattered in it. The "magic show" was an animatronic farmer and his chorus of chicken puppets singing "she'll be coming around the mountain" and other old timey classics. The kids completed the hay maze in 30 seconds, literally. The petting zoo was OK, but the animal pens were quite small. Over all pretty disappointing. This review is for the drive-thru Fair Food Festival at the Great Pumpkin Farm, which is happening every weekend in June 2020, Friday - Sunday, 11am - 8pm each day. Here is how it works: ** When you arrive at the Great Pumpkin Farm, signs mark where you should enter for the Fair Food Festival; on the day we went it was VERY busy, and the line started along the side of the road. ** If it is that busy, where cars start on the road, expect a two hour wait. Yup, I said two hours. The line snakes back and forth several times on the field. So definitely bring people you like to hang out with in the car. ** Once you get up to the food stalls, you stay in your car and an attendant will come right to your window. There are boards posted with the various food options. Payment is cash only. The attendant takes your money, and comes back with your food and change. ** Things move pretty quickly when you finally make it up to the food, then that's it! You drive out of the lot, and you're on your way, with the sweet smells of fair food in your car! We bought a Buffalo grilled cheese, a bloomin' onion, two orders of french fries, two fried doughs, an order of fried oreos, and some peanut butter fudge. All of that was almost $60, so pretty steep, but pretty typical of fair food pricing. The food was pretty good! I had a bite of everything, (multiple bites of the PB fudge, full disclosure), and the fam' housed the rest. The bloomin' onion was kind of small, but still yummy greasy goodness. The fair fries were fresh-cut. The fried dough was a warm and chewy. The fried oreos were really tasty, and you got an order of five, which seemed generous. The Buffalo grilled cheese was just okay, good, but for the cost, I wish we went with the sausage instead. My FAVE was the peanut butter fudge. I usually can't eat too much fudge because it rattles my teeth, but this fudge was a very palatable level of sweet, and went down super smooth. All in all, I'm glad we checked out the drive-thru Fair Food Festival at the Great Pumpkin Farm. It was a very long wait, and expensive, and I do wish there was a spot to park and eat (we actually trespassed in the empty parking lot for the business across the street to chow down). But the food was pretty good and we had fun yuckin' it up as a fam' while we waited in line. Nowadays, when things to do are still limited, I'd recommend checking this out as long as you don't mind a potential wait. And bring me back some more PB fudge, please! :-) read more

So I am late to posting this, but Thanksgiving has yet to roll around, so there's still time to soak up all things fall ... even with snow on the ground. When my family and I went, we were not prepared to spend half a day at the pumpkin farm. Sure, they have pumpkins (lots of them), but there's so much to see, so much to touch, and so much to do. We got our admission passes and entered through what looked to be some type of general store with endless amounts of tzatziki. Once we left that space, there were life decisions to make: Do we check out the magic show? Do we pet the fluffy animals? Do we let the kiddos play on the playground? Do we play games? Do we look at pumpkins? We opted for the playground before we headed towards the other side of the property, passing what looked to be a carnival (rides, games, and food), along the way. Once we got to the other side, there were even *more* options -- hayride, corn maze, more rides, larger-than-life bouncy pads. I will note that some of these things were extra and not included in the price of admission. (Parents, bring extra money. Your kids are going to whine until they get what they want here.) With apple cider donuts in our mouths, we journeyed around on the hayride and spent a nice amount of time in the corn maze after Thing 1 and Thing 2 played on the bounce pad. I think we spent well over three hours there and still didn't get through everything. And we forgot to get some pumpkins, so I guess we'll have to go back. I first visited The Great Pumpkin Farm when I first moved to Buffalo back in 2016 and I was a little let down with my first trip. I mean, it wasn't a bad time but it did leave some things to be desired. Now let's fast forward to 2019 and I made my second trip here and even brought my parents from Connecticut to check it out. This year was definitely a different experience from my first. The Great Wall of pumpkins you see when you first walked in now has some giant skeletons and cool things to take some pictures of and with. I really enjoyed checking out and petting some goats, llamas, and even the camel that was chilling with some snacks. The building with the haunted cafe and store were also a nice place to spend some time (and take the high score on the basketball game). My two highlights are definitely the cannon in the back that shot apples at a target and the giant sling shots next to it. I had a blast launching apples and kind of regret not going on the paintball zombie ride. My only complaint for the farm was the haunted house.....I mean, it's probably in my top 5 least favourite haunted houses I've been too but at least the rest of the fair makes up for it. Overall, both my family and I had a good morning T the The Great Pumpkin farm and I will absolutely be back next year. I came here last year and had a really fun time with my friends doing many of the activities. The thing that stood out to me the most was the Apple cider donuts nad pumpkin donuts. This year, the memory of those delicious donuts were so intense, I HAD to get some. I was so busy and didn't have the time to spend all the time I wanted to there so I decided I would drive there just to get the donuts. I contacted them a few hours before I wanted to leave and asked if it was possible to order donuts without entering because I would have to pay the entrance fee and they got back to me within a few minutes and let me know that I could order them at the gate and have someone bring them out to me. (Perfect!) When I got there, I had no troubles getting my donut and was on my happy way home to devour a dozen donuts (that may or may not have been shared). It did take some time for the donuts to come out to the gate but I didn't mind, I was way too excited to care. Those donuts were going to get in my belly no matter what. It's sad that they only make the donuts on weekends but totally understandable as there are probably less people who are free to be going to a pumpkin patch on a weekday. However, I think it would be possible to make fewer on the weekdays? That would be so great. I was also sad to discover that they did not have the pumpkin donuts this year. :( read more

I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. I live near here. Yes. I live by a pumpkin farm. Does that mean I am homeless and I sleep under a haystack? Maybe. OK no. But it could have been. That would have been pretty interesting. Pretty harrowing too in winters. But yes, when I say I live by a pumpkin farm, I don't mean a few miles from a pumpkin farm. In the summers, this place is absolutely beautiful. I wish they hadn't built the auction house, though. Very sad really. Before they built some big ugly buildings it was such a beautiful view of the farm from my bedroom window. Now it's kind of ruined. And they cut down all the trees. But regardless. A beautiful place. Feels like the countryside even though it's at the edge of the suburbs and Main Street runs right alongside it with a 55mph speed limit. Lots of animals here too. Cats, squirrels, skunks, you name it. And then in the Fall, when the Fall Festival comes, it becomes such a wonderful place. Overpriced and a little over-fried (in terms of the eateries and snack shacks), but it's so amazing. Lots of beautiful women wandering around and all these adorable animals to pet, such as camels, alpacas, goats, you name it, they're here. Too adorable, I can't take it. I get way too happy when I see them. The animals, I mean, not the women. Okay, the women too. As for the foods, well they have homemade lemonade and limeade (pretty good but overpriced), they have blooming onions, deep fried (same), they have a fried dough/funnel cake shack (yum), and they have a caramel corn shack (which is more fair in its pricing and delicious). The Apple Cider isn't really that good but it's decently priced too. So with all this good stuff and all the adorable creatures, this place was always going to score high on the Richter Scale. i.e. the Yelp scale. Oh, and I live here. I hadn't been to The Great Pumpkin Farm in years, so when my boyfriend suggested we go this year, I was game! I forgot how fun the atmosphere is here. Think of it as an autumnal carnival: rides, plenty of fair foods, and Halloween theming done perfectly right. What could be better than eating a deep fried Oreo and going through a spooky corn maze? Where The Great Pumpkin Farm loses me a little is their system of pricing. We were able to get our tickets at $10 each since we ordered them during the week, but be well aware that if there's something you want to do, you'll be paying extra for it. The corn maze, the hay ride, the apple cannons. Each attraction is only a few bucks but it can add up if you're hoping to spend awhile there. Since we're just a couple of people, we certainly didn't mind swinging it as this is a once a year sort of thing! This review is from the point of view of a weekday visit. It was a rainy morning and we decided to give an afternoon visit. The place was deserted. Twice while there, random people asked us if it was open. We weren't sure ourselves honestly. While walking around outside, we did not see a single employee. Not one person in the huts to make purchases or to answer any questions. Farther back were a bunch of shutdown rides and closed concession stands. Complete ghost town. Pumpkins were priced around 55 cents per pound. Since there wasn't anyone there, we couldn't weigh pumpkins. Nor buy pumpkins. Strawbails were soaking wet and $8 a bail. I have seen them drastically cheaper on other farms. We went inside to check out the Witches Brew bar... closed! Gift shop was open, but didn't see any workers? One of the two cafe/bake shops were open. The employee working was not friendly whatsoever. We ordered two hot ciders and the outside of the cups were nasty sticky. Prices for baked goods are insanely overpriced. $4 for an individual goodie? I'll pass. Honestly, I went for the hype and was severely disappointed. Perhaps the weekends are better, but remember you have to pay just to get in and everything else costs money. I'm happy to buy my pumpkins and gourds elsewhere. read more

I've been here on both weekdays and weekends with the weekend pumpkin festivals being far more activity based days for the kiddos and it's always a nice visit. They have a bakery that makes tasty cider and pumpkin donuts and loads of other things, a neat gift shop selling many other items. The Boo Barn, corn maize, and pumpkin cannon are a good time and do have an additional cost. During the weekdays admission is free but weekends have a cost. The pumpkin festivals are more kid oriented but still fun for adults.
