Been shopping here for years and it's gets worse every time. They rarely have sale items available. The storage space for sale items is much smaller than products not on sale. They place yellow sale type stickers on non sale items and the fine print indicates everyday low price. So they are not on sale very misleading. Man of their sales are buy one get one free. Well quite Often you don't need 2 of an item. They do not display sale placards on any items listed as online sales.Their prices are much higher than shop rite. Their deli meats and especially boars head is 30% higher than other stores. Well I'm done with stop and shop . I'll be giving my weekly business to shop rite even though they are miles away. So, I kick myself because i realize this is the SECOND time I purchased the sushi..Nashville hot shrimp. Most of the 10 pieces had nonshrimp in wjat sonever..one had half a shrimp tail! The Wasabi was splat, flat on the side with nearly enough for maybe 4 pieces of the 10. Again, no fried chicken made. I dont know why I go there, the prices are high, less for your money on most everything. I try to save time and gas but I need to go to the stop in shop in holbrook, or next time. Sushi take out. This is a rating on the deli. This department is pure garbage loaded with lazy people. I don't get it. They can have 20 people waiting in line and 2 slicers going. But there are 6 people behind the counter doing whatever and always talking. Is it normal for every deli encounter to last 45 minutes. They go at the same pace all day long. Regardless of how many customers they have in line. The older gentleman ( glasses ) never shuts up with his corny jokes. What does he even do here? The older woman gets it done but never has a happy face and is always complaining about the schedule. I assume these two are manager because they are always here. So if they are the mangers this explains why so many employees come and go at this deli. The only bright spot is they have a young blond girl who works mostly Saturday and she is fast , pleasant and efficient. She should be the manager but I can see she is going to be another ex employee. Based on what I know Deli's are money makers for Supermarkets. I guess Stop and Shop doesn't really care because this has been like this for years. So now I will go to Meat Farms for my deli meats. Even as busy as they are you are done in 20 minutes & their manager works harder than the rest of the staff. Had enough of S & S. I can see them closing up like Pathmark and Walbaums. P.S. I hate the new layout in the store also.. Can't find anything except the nightmare of the deli. You should have invested this money in the deli department. Clean store with friendly service. At times, it does seem the shelves are limited and are missing essential products. I can easily find those products in other markets, but being such a large grocery chain, you would think they would be adequately stocked with supplies. The cold-cut area is good but can use more people. Only having two employees working on the weekend is not acceptable, especially when you have a line of 10 people waiting. Check your receipt carefully when you shop here. I have been doing my grocery shopping at several Stop&Shop's in the area, depending on which one I pass on the way home, for over ten years. I noticed that I have to pay close attention to the receipt when I shop at the Farmingville store. Many of the Stop&Shop's have been renovated in the past few months, but they didn't do a decent job at training their personnel and handling their computer system properly. They make many mistakes with billing errors. In the past, I had to get credit once in a while for overpriced items that didn't match what it said on the shelf. More often, discounts for digital coupons don't show up. Yesterday when I shopped in the Farmingville store, the cashier rang up a single Tilapia fish three times, and didn't scan a manufacturer's coupon that I handed him at the beginning. Unfortunately I usually don't look at my receipt carefully until I get home, so I have to make an additional trip back to the store just to get credit for the mistakes they make. read more

I love this location. Everything is clean and organized the staff is polite when asking questions. You have a few who could use some customer service training but no one is perfect or perky all the time. I enjoy the space where you don't feel on top of each other. This is definitely my preferred supermarket. Keep up the great work!! read more

Convenient as heck*, this S&S off Exit 63 has lot hegemony now, even if the KMart sign still rules the roost. *It's ultimately an ultra-corporate area and traffic lights buffer access during rush hour, but the magnitude of the detour off 495 cannot be understated. Copious self-checkout stations and competent staff make for a relatively painless experience. They open @ 6 am--unsure if this is an aberration on the grocery scene but it's welcome especially OTW to work rather than from. Yelp doesn't seem to want this listing to ever be found via search. read more

I thought that would change after the renovation but it is still there... and I had a truly horrible experience recently there when I needed to order a special cake and because I work strange hours I always got there after the bakery staff was gone for the night...and I was assured by the staff at the front end that I could come in with 24 hours notice for this basic cake... but when I did that I was told by the baker that this was wrong and I was just out of luck if there wasn't something premise available ... and that is the last time I will go to the store... read more

I live 5 minutes away and will travel further to a different supermarket. There is always an issue with the deli. I am infuriated with the treatment I received in this location. I was at the self checkout scanning my items and my machine was abruptly shut off. A heavy set woman with blonde hair approached my register and said the transaction was lost. She told me that I couldn't ring up my own groceries and she would ring me up on another register. I am in a knee brace and have a disability. The woman tried swiftly moving the cart that I was holding onto out of my grasp. I tried explaining to her that I was using the cart to balance and she didn't care to listen or understand. She made me repeat myself several times as she was rudely trying to take the cart away so I would fall to the ground. So much for Christmas spirit she is absolutely disgusting. She basically insinuated that because I have a disability I am unable to ring up my own groceries. She should be spoken to by management on how to properly handle people with disabilities. read more

This store smells like rotting fish every time I go there. I only go because it's around the block from me. For full shops I go to Shoprite. They are always out of everything too. I've been shopping at Stop and Shop for many years. When I moved to Medford I started going to this store. Recently they had a huge renovation to the store. However the customer experience is worse than before. First of all their new frozen cases hold less than before and they are more times than not out of stock on so many items. The vendors or store workers don't stock properly. They put overstock items in the shelf space meant for other products which means that certain items never get reordered. I land up going from one store to another trying to find what I need. Then there's the self checkout line. Nightmare. They installed ten self checkout lines which you are forced to use because there's never enough checkout lines open. These new checkout kiosks have tiny areas to put your groceries and if you have more than five or six items everything falls on the floor. Then when you're ready to pay it ALWAYS PROMPTS 'HELP IS REQUIRED ' and you have to wait for someone to help you. How is that beneficial to customers? Two weeks ago they had frozen ice bars on sale three for $10 but as usual they didn't have it so I got a raincheck. I went to the Sayville store to see if they had them and they had only two. I asked the cashier to mark the raincheck that I had one remaining to purchase but she wouldn't give it back. I went to the customer service and was told the same thing. I'm in Stop and Shop DAILY and they're going to give me a hard time about a raincheck?! I got the manager, a nice guy, and he gave me a new raincheck for three more. Next I hear the girl in customer service whispering to him 'you're not supposed to do that.' Are you kidding me! I got into an argument with a kid who had the audacity to question her store manager! I'm done with this store. Terrible service and their prices are higher than any other store. Next time they feel led to do a renovation they should consult with women who are in the store on a regular basis. We know what works. The dates on meat, bread and some produce from this place are usually only a few days from expiration or are already expired. I bought raspberries and noticed the next day that they had already gone bad. For the most part it's a good place to shop. I like that I get gas points for shopping there and the gas station is right across the street. My only gripe is some of the associates. A few of them are nothing short of obnoxious. Like whatever you're asking for will be directly deducted from their paycheck. Lately I go just to run in for something. Not my weekly haul. Most of the food and staff at Stop & Shop are excellent! I go the a few times a week. The meat, produce and bakery items are fresh! The deli items are excellent. I always get Boars Head! I like getting the cooked rotisserie chickens too! Only $4.99 which is great price. Make sure when buying yogurts, milk etc you check the expiration dates. There are items that have expired or are about to within a day or two still in the shelves. I have made the mistake of not checking before purchasing and found the items past expiration date after getting home. Also check water cases to make sure bottles are all full. Recently bought 3 cases when on sale and when opening case found a couple bottles empty! Bottles had a hole in bottom and water poured out! Always check your receipt to make sure sale items came off your bill! Sometimes they don't. Especially if it is the beginning or end of the sale. Especially buy one get one free! And carefully check the sale signs that are sometimes not placed correctly. You might think the item you are buying is the one on sale but it isn't. It is the much smaller one on the other shelf! Don't forget to give your stop & shop card! If you don't those sale items won't come off! You will pay regular price! If you forget your card you can ask the cashier to use the store card because you left yours home. They will, but you have to ask! But there are some great sales each week! Good Luck! read more

a few years ago I use to go there. Till one day an employee didn't like what I had to say regarding their store and employees. She over heard and took it upon herself to tell me off and spell out her last name for me "SCMIDTH" or somethings like that since her rudeness I paid her no mind. The store is horribly an eye sore, nothing's changed as I took a walk through just the other day. Employees on the floor complain amongs one another about supervisors and they all including cashiers seem troubled to help a customer when asked for assistance. Their personal life conversation is too important to be interrupted. The shoelves are discustingly durty. The employees have a serious problem on their word usage as they use bad words on the store floor. The cars blocking outside the store is a neusance but again can't bother them about it. Serously a miracle they are still open, but it's just a matter of time and the owner's can blame the employees there for the failure! read more
