I've lived in in Miller Place for 45 years. I can't believe how bad the fruit has gotten at the Stop & Shop. It's the absolute worst fruit of anywhere I've ever seen. The rest of the store is fine, but I don't know where they're getting their fruit from and I eat a lot of fruit. It's just absolutely horrible. I'm gonna start using a different store. Stop & Shop has gone down the hill over the years. Deli dept. is lack luster. They usually only have one maybe two employees that seem like they are doing you a favor when you order your cold cuts. They need to change with the times. Uncle G 's & Meat farms blow them away. I don't know why upper management doesn't see this. Will put them out of business. read more

terrible service, terrible customer service. I'll never use them again very unreliable. One week they delivered to a house down the road, the next week they never delivered at all and then told me the next delivery isn't until the following week because of the holiday. on several occasions, my fruit came with mold on it and received expired No care goes into the food that is selected . The male cashier is so weird. He rings my things up and when he's done he touches the back of my hand when he gives me my receipt. Twice. I asked my boyfriend who was just fine bring ring up by him if he also touched him. He said yes. I don't know personally I do not like getting touched. And next time it happens I may actually cause a scene. Stop and shop y'all need to fire that employee. read more

I've been a loyal customer for years but my days of shopping here are over. I scan my groceries, pay and leave. Recently, sales aren't scanning correctly and today there were no scanners. I used my phone and scanning app, completed 90% of my shopping and the WiFi died. No one could help or care. I had to unpack my groceries, and have a cashier re-ring everything. There's no WiFi, or a decent backup system in place. Very frustrating and time wasting. read more

I'll be the second review. I think the first was a ringer. We were actually "Waldbaums" customers until one day they closed all their stores. So we shifted to "Stop & Shop", and the one we usually patronize is in Setauket and we like it. My daughters shop at Stop & Shop too and they love it too. But on this day while coming back from the east end of Long Island, my wife says let's stop here I have to pick up a couple of things. Can't fool me Mrs. E, I know "a couple of things ", means we'll be paying their rent today. So after she fills the cart we meet up and start checking out. While the cashier is scanning items my wife is telling me about a great deal they have on a roast beef. Regular price $5.99 lb, but with their member card $3.99. This roast beef is the size of my head but she's already planning to have all the kids over for a Sunday dinner. Then the fun starts. It rings up at $5.99. I know my wife, she's not going to have this, so they call a girl over to check it out. She goes to the meat isle, comes back and says no it's $5.99. I know what's coming now, my wife is on fire. She goes back to the meat aisle and comes back with the $3.99 sign. It's on now, she's all over them and heads to customer service slams the sign on the counter and demand the discount. With the $2 lb discount she gets back $16. Now here's why I'm pissed, I have to listen to her all the way home, they're rip offs, bad customer service, bad employee training, bait and switch, etc. Not cool Stop & Shop. I should be compensated. You screw up and I have to listen to this for 20 minutes? NOT COOL. read more

Ok I like that stop and shop supports our local community. Lots of local kids work there in which helps keeping kids off the street after school. I like that their parking lot is clean at night it could be better lit but I guess the direct locals don't want light pollution. As for the items inside the store. The produce always looks fresh and bountiful. And flowers are amazing. The meet counter leaves a lot of room for improvement. Meat section is not always properly stocked with sale and non sale items. It almost appears the apocalypse is on the horizon. I get meat is extremely pricy now but fill it with something so it looks appealing. Ok the bakery is always James with fresh products including the nice lil yesterday's goods shelf by the milk. Frozen cabinets are always well stocked. And pharmacy staff and isles are amazing and super friendly. I stopped going to Another name brand local place because how nice and thorough the pharmacist and staff are. Now for the BAD, I have mentioned this to store curtesy booth as well as deli staff. For the last few months I have been paying for an extensive amount of wax paper stuffed between 2-3 slices of meat. If I buy 1 lb of cold cuts I am getting like 7-8 slices of wax paper. No one wants to pay over $10 a pound for paper. There are other ways to make money. Unless you hawk over their deli employees and tell them to stop using all the paper and have them get angry and scowl at you. Come on do the right thing by your patrons don't hammer us anymore. I can go down the block to Aldi and get food for 25 percent less. Hopefully you clean up the act once Whole Foods comes to town. Company wide you are acting like a cornered the market monopoly. You got a lil better once Aldi came but don't hammer the patrons who enjoys frequenting your establishment. That much paper between meat slices has to STOP!!!! Concerned shopper change your ways or we drive 5min more to a new store. I am giving the store 3 stars only for pharmacy and kids you employee locally. Not many supermarkets in the area to choose from. However, with 2 stop & shops within a few miles, I drive to this location which is further away for several reasons: better produce, nicer staff, better organized store. I live in Shoreham. No place to food shop. So it's KK in Wading River, the hometown/family owned store that goes for your lungs with their outrageous prices. OR Stop & Shop Rocky Pt..formerly Waldbaums, formerly Foodtown, NOW Stop & Shop..with same cranky staff who have survived 2 turnovers. So Stop & Shop Miller Place is my go to. Hate that parking is always a nightmare, but I know it's because we are all shopping in the same place. It's clean. They are always restocking, unlike RP location where shelves are empty of sale items. Good deli, good bakery, friendly helpful staff, the low prices Stop & Shop has to offer. Maybe people who live nearby have higher expectations. I can't afford to. My family needs to eat! read more

Pretty good stop n shop. We love the donuts and bagels here. We also picked up cakes here and tiered them to look like a professional cake it cost us under $25. This location had a great bakery. They also now have this creepy camera robot that follows you around and literally scares the ever loving... lets just say it's scary but pretty cool. read more

It's a nicely run big box, grocery chain store. Kept clean and well stacked of items. The staff is pleasant and if there isn't a cashier ready to take you, there's the self-service checkout. My thoughts are, unless they're giving you a discount to ring/pack yourself- then you shouldn't, and let them give someone a paying job! Prices reflect a chain store. read more

I've shopped here for years and wondered why people complain about the store. I haven't had bad experiences there. Just used Peapod pick up for the first time this and am HOOKED!!! I ordered my food early in the day and selected a later pick up. The employee who brought it out to the car was super polite and made sure he placed everything appropriately in the car. All the groceries were packed in my OCD fashion, which was amazing. Everything was organized well and we even got a goodie bag as a bonus! I HIGHLY recommend this service, especially for busy working families. Great addition to your store services, Stop & Shop!!! read more

They have a great organic selection, grass-fed meats, and good fair prices. It is often very crowded but the parking lot is way better and easier to deal with compared to the Setauket Stop & Shop, which I have also used a lot. I have usually been able to get around this store fairly effortlessly (like not running into people all the time as I do in Setauket) and check out smoothly. read more

I used to think Stop & Shop was expensive. But, for several years now I've been shopping here almost exclusively. I think they lowered their prices. Their everyday prices are fair and their sale prices are great, especially with the additional savings you get loading their online coupons to your SS card. Their produce department is always well stocked. This is where I do most of my shopping. If you need something and it's not there, there is always a friendly employee close by happy to check in the back for you. I've never had them check the back for me and not come back with what I needed, even around the holidays. This store does get crowded, especially around dinner time and on weekends, but if you are a regular you learn how to avoid the crowds when you can. I usually use the self checkout. Those lines seem to move quickly, regardless of how long they are. read more

This is my go-to grocery store when I'm at home. It's close-by and convenient. It has everything I need at reliable prices. It has a bottle drop area and prints receipts that I can bring inside to redeem or use for whatever I'm buying. Staff is friendly. The store is generally kept clean. I am totally grossed out... I purchased 6 dozed vacuum sealed mussels from this place and when my homemaker decided to cook them one Friday, because I am Catholic, she made them with a butter-wine reduction. I came home to a family of 5 and we sat down to eat with this and Lobster tails from the fish market. The mussels were disgusting, still bearded, and inedible. I had to order our from Lombardi's on the Sound and delayed dinner for at least 1 1/2 hours. I called the store and the manager said I have to have a receipt. I do not track purchases of food for $60.00 and under... Needless to say, I will never shop there again and if anyone has questions, feel free to call me at 631-312-7754. Can't stand this store. It's always dirty. The employees are rude, mostly kids, and the few adult employees are not helpful. They like to stock the shelves and give you a dirty look when you need to go where they are stocking, oh I'm sorry I'm trying to purchase something, am I in your way? Cannot wait until Shop Rite opens because I literally find this place to be so the worst grocery store. The people working in the floral department are even worse, so rude! Apparently they will hire anybody here, you just have to be rude and have no clue what customer service is and the job is yours. Please clean up your store it's disgusting. read more

Miller Place's Stop & Shop Labor Day sale of 'fresh corn' in produce department was a total waste. Bought ten for our barbeque and they had black fungus-looking stuff on top, and sunken kernels. Had to toss. Also, they run out of advertised sale items soon after sales begins. You can't eat rain checks. read more

I stopped to buy formula after a long tainy day out east, with a sleeping 5 month old infant in my arms. I've never had a worse experience in my life. The formula is kept under lock and key. After retrieving the card to bring to the cashier i was treating like garbage. I nearly cried in the store. We live in rocky point. We'll go to wading river king kullen from now on. read more
