Each time it was over a $100 increase, supposedly due to "expense increases." It's hard to believe costs rose that much per unit in such a short time. When you try to resolve things, they send you to an 800 number where it's nearly impossible to reach a real person. On top of that, I was told I'd get a prorated refund when I moved out. Be careful here--their proration policy is the strangest I've ever seen, and of course I didn't receive the refund I was promised. They do have a new manager now who seems very nice, but unfortunately the company's policies don't reflect honesty or loyalty to their customers. One last tip: if you ask for a discount, you'll probably get one--but why loyal, long-term customers should have to beg for fairness is beyond me.

Finally I was able to get in contact with an agent through Door to Door to tell me where my stuff was he emailed me the info and I called the Hideaway. The first person I spoke with was Buck and he was so AMAZINGLY nice. He apologized profusely for not contacting me sooner and had said that Door to Door has sent incomplete information on my container I.E. no contact info. I know right? Incredible! I spoke with Buck and he went over the different options of what I could do with my stuff have it delivered etc. I opted for the cheapest way and just asked if I could come down and get it, it ended up saving myself like 450.00 doing this way then having it delivered which was fine with me, what was even more excellent he waived the storage fee. 55. bucks knocked off for storage cost because I had only had my stuff their for like two weeks. I told him I'd let him know as soon as I could when I was coming down there. Well things came up and I wasn't able to get down to Sarasota for a good month and half. All the while Buck, and a sweetheart named Ron were idly patient with me. I finally was able to get down there just this past weekend. Ron was so nice when I met him and so incredibly helpful. He made a way for us to move our 5X8 trailer inside the facility so we wouldn't have to move in the hot sun, and even lended us a hand moving my couch and sectional in the trailer. To top it all off they even waived the fee again for me even though they could have rightfully charged me. Hideaway storage in Sarasota was AMAZING. The customer service was outstanding and above and beyond in every way. I would recommend this company to ANYONE for storage needs, seriously so awesome, so nice and so willing to work with you. We rented 4 units, filled three of them with items to move where they came and picked them up and took them to the new house. We could then unload them at our leisure. (ok, moving is anything but leisure!) The fourth box we put decorations in and are using as a "Holiday" box. They will take it to their environmentally controlled storage facility and for a small fee, store it for the year. We call them and they deliver it at no additional charge. Great way to move!

The girl who I booked with steered me away from the additional insurance. She said of course if we break your flatscreen we would never only pay .60 cents per pound. They broke my flatscreen and only want to give me $150! The 3 workers were arguing loudly in our house and outside at our new neighborhood! We had to tell them twice to knock it off! They damaged 2 entryway exterior doors and multiple areas in the stairway. They didn't finish putting together one of the bedroom sets. Their settlement offer was $500 but wanted me to sign a non-disclosure that I could not post any reviews! It threatens to seek $1000 per negative review! Disgusting and dishonest scammers! Don't ever use this company!!

They are close to campus, have reasonable prices, treat Eckerd students with respect (as opposed to treating them like kids), and offer amazing service. Located just past the Publix near campus on 34th St. south, they take up a good portion of a strip mall. Inside you'll find storage rooms if all sizes in an air conditioned building. The storage units are constructed of plywood, with open tops covered by fencing. While it may not seem secure, we've never had a problem and it seems secure enough for summer storage of dorm items. Our son worked with Tyler, the on site manager (and son of the owners), to rent a good sized locker. He then assembled a bunch of friends who shared the locker and shared the costs. Tyler was delightful to work with. When we went to remove things this fall, the weather wouldn't cooperate: it rained all day. No worries! Tyler suggested that we back our car up onto the covered sidewalk in front so that we wouldn't get wet. Now that's customer service! And in a freak accident, Tyler inadvertently closed the door on me as I was carrying out a fishing pole. He didn't realize I was there, as he was chatting with another customer (I did say he was a great manager, didn't I?). No worries: as soon as I showed the broken rod to him he immediately, and without hesitation said to get it repaired or replaced, bring him the receipt and he'd pay for it. That's exactly what we did, and he wrote my son a check for the replacement. When I showed him the broken pole he was genuinely upset, saying he'd never broken any customer items before. And I believe him: when you see how well he runs the place and how organized and clean he keeps it, you'll understand why he was upset at himself. So if you need storage near Eckerd, this is the place to go!

They were great to work with, especially since my mom was paying & arranging it all from our home in NY. I only had to sign a few papers & show a credit card that they had on file already through my mom & was able to move in. Rates were great & they have a variety of unit sizes which is nice if you want to split a unit with roommates or have your own. My only issue is that you don't get 24/7 access to it, but they do have weekend hours & are longer than 9-5 during the week so you can get access to your unit a decent amount of time. Your can bring your own lock or you can buy one from them too. I always see the same younger guy working there & he's always polite, propping the doors opening & greeting you.

After calling several places, Distinct was one of the few to have a dumpster, and they didn't jack up their rates because of the storm. Nicole was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her driver was right on time and gave us great tips on how to load the dumpster. So far, my expectations have been exceeded.
