I'm basing this review on my phone consultation and website with the studio ONLY!!…read more Anyway, I am currently shopping around for newborn and maternity photographers and FELL IN LOVE with the pictures associated with Zoe Hiigli Studios, especially because she was located a hop, jump and skip away from me. So, I called immediately, hoping that she would be as inexpensive as her website claimed. On the website, it stated that both her newborn sessions and her maternity sessions were $250 each. It also clearly explained that this did not involve prints, digital files or products; for this pricing information, you would have to contact the studio directly. The first time I called, a woman at the studio picked up right away. I believe it might have been Zoe I was talking to (I'm not really sure if she was Zoe but this woman was the only woman I'd reach each time I called). Anyway, the first time I called, she was very pleasant on the phone and almost immediately after our phone conversation emailed me the link that led to her pricing, including the session fee. After reviewing the link, I was very confused about the pricing and it seemed much more than I expected. Anyway, I called her a few days later for some clarification, which she was able to do to some degree. She was able to tell me that if I book both sessions together, I would qualify for a full maternity session with a $200 discount which would be $550 (originally $750) for that session plus the $250 for the newborn session, totaling $800. Although she was able to answer a few questions, she never included the extra costs of the newborn session in this conversation and seemed a bit bothered that I was concerned and confused about the pricing to begin with. It didn't matter to me; The pictures on the website were so beautiful that I was willing to pay A LITTLE more than expected for her services. But, still after this conversation, I needed some more information about the newborn session that still could not be answered from her website, the link or the earlier phone conversations. Before I called her again, I looked through the pricing a few times with a coworker to try to gain a better understanding. Both my coworker and I were still not sure what extra costs would have to be paid for a smaller package or a la carte products due to disclaimers that were placed under many of the packages and items. So, I called her a final time, (which I definitely sensed from her tone that she was not happy with my questions or incessant calling), to have her tell me that for a full maternity session and a newborn session that was not explained at all to me, the final cost would be $1350. How the price jumped from $800 to $1350 I still don't know. She didn't explain what was included in the newborn session (still!) and didn't tell me how she got this new price (except to say that the $1350 is the lowest price for both sessions). Just in case (and I really wanted to book her), I went back to her link to see if maybe there was an area I missed that explained this price but to no avail. I decided not to reach out to her again after her abrasive tone from the last conversation and continued my search with other photographers.

I think you have to be with babies, but she understood the general nature of babies, and was open to working at the right time, and worked quickly * She did a good job juggling keeping a baby/kid engaged while taking the photographs. I'm a photographer, too (of spaces, not people) and I know that getting the right moment with the right expression can be difficult. * She had lots of props and lots of posing ideas.
