These attorneys could learn something from Ruby. She offered to meet with us at her office, made it clear that she would charge a consultation fee, would review our evidence, and would tell us whether or not it was sufficient for where we were at. If it wasn't, she would gladly apply that payment toward future fees and would be able to provide us an estimate of what to expect. The cynical part of you might say, of course she would say that, and being a self-serving attorney, would conclude your session by asserting that you needed her services. But this is not what happened. She looked at the extensive evidence we had collected, slowly and methodically, examining every piece of evidence with great detail. While our interaction with her started with the tense distant demeanor of any such encounter, with each page she turned, she relaxed, and a beautiful smile crept into her face. She asked pointed questions along the way, and by the time she had reached the last page, she was beaming, and finally, she declared: "You have nothing to worry about. Absolutely nothing." At this announcement, we were practically in tears. This has been so stressful of a journey, and while it is not yet complete, this was such beautiful and welcome news. I was told Gautam Jagannath (the founder) would be representing me, he was who I met with when I first went there, it sounded like a good situation. Until the carpet got pulled from under me: I ended up being set up with a lady working remotely from out of state, who was supposed to then attempt to help me, with extremely limited experience, who had never represented another client with the same kind of case... I ended up dropping them because of this, even after paying them in full in the beginning. I made an attempt to get reimbursement, or even a partial reimbursement, with no response from SSJE. I suggest if you sign a contract with them, you make it extremely clear on what services you will get from them, AND WHO WILL REPRESENT YOU. Don't trust the "...or any other SSJE representative" line, because you may end up screwed like I did. They told me they needed payment in full before accepting me as a client because some people "ended up not paying them" - I wouldn't be surprised if some of those people not paying, experienced something similar to what I experienced. Spend a little more, get someone else who doesn't give you the runaround.
