We…read morehired Eco Landscaping, LLC, expecting a professional, proactive venture for our pool and garage slab construction. What we received instead was an absolute nightmare of substandard, unpermitted, and dangerous work, followed by a total refusal from the owner, Paul Bryan, to address any issues.
1. Contract Breach: The "Turnkey Swim Ready Pool" issue
Our contract explicitly stated we would receive a "turn key swim ready pool." This was a blatant misrepresentation. The pool was left unfinished and, critically, unsafe and illegal:
* Permitting & Safety Violations: Mr. Bryan filled the pool with water before the required permanent barrier/fence and alarms were installed. This is a severe safety violation and left us with a massive liability exposure, forcing us to immediately install an emergency fence. Furthermore, required electrical permit and final inspections were never secured
* Unacceptable Workmanship: The quality of the finished pool is terrible. The deck drains were covered in concrete, uneven cuts and gaps that look awful and are functionally compromised. The pool deck texture is poor quality and not the "broom finish" we specifically requested, making it uncomfortable to walk on
2. Illegal and Defective Garage Slab
Mr. Bryan poured a garage slab/shop pad for us, which he quoted and executed unpermitted and not to code.
* Code violations The slab was poured without the required footings for a residential monolithic slab. The concrete thickness was well below the agreed-upon depth, and rebar was improperly installed and visibly protruding from the finished
* Ground surrounding foundation was improperly graded resulting in erosion under the slab further compromising the structure
3. Complete Communication Breakdown and Refusal to Remediate
Once the issues and code violations were raised, Mr. Bryan's professionalism evaporated.
* Derogatory Behavior: He became "derogatory," "curt," and "unprofessional," immediately refusing to honor any open line of communication. He dismissed our documented concerns
* Willful Evasion: When we sent multiple formal, detailed letters demanding resolution for the breach of contract, Mr. Bryan initially denied receiving them. Despite being fully aware of the breaches, demands for remediation, and the imminent threat of legal action, Mr. Bryan has entirely refused to respond to the issues or answer any communication.
Eco Landscaping, LLC is not a professional construction company. They perform unpermitted, substandard work and then completely abandon their clients when held accountable. We strongly advise seeking a reputable, licensed, and insured contractor elsewhere
