There is no charge to get in. The paved road around the lake has been split into a one-way driving/biking road and a with an adjacent walking lane. There is a Hike/bike trail called The Freedom Trail that borders this park. Metro Parks Summit County is going to add a connector trail between them in 2026. The Freedom Trail in this area is a rail trail, so it is pretty flat. There is an area called Tallmadge Meadows that to me is a separate park, because the two areas have very different prior ownership and history, but Metro Parks considers them to be the same park. The parking for Tallmadge Meadows is right around the corner from South River Rd. on South Main St. (Rt 91). There is also a trailhead in Munroe Falls for the Summit County Bike and Hike Trail. It is about a ¼ mile North of South River Rd and runs along the Cuyahoga River. I used to be a Firefighter/EMT in Munroe Falls and it was not unusual for us to get called out to the "Metro Park" and have to ask, "which one"? All 3 of these are great parks and I consider myself luck to live in between them.

I'm not saying don't check it out because it does have some nice features such as: a playground, tennis courts, hiking trails, Campbell's Lodge and it's usually kept pretty clean. However, I couldn't give this place a 5 star review because they are not pet friendly. Also, I realize that (sadly) someone was in a head-on collision this winter and crashed into the beautiful pine trees that used to offer privacy next to the tennis courts. At the most, two trees were damaged but they decided to cut down all of them and it just looks like sh*t now. As for Campbell's Lodge, it's okay.... for Stow residents it's only $75.00 to rent so you can't beat that! And I'll admit, the pics on their site make the interior of the building look like American cheese exploded on every wall (it's not that bad in person, trust me). But if you're looking for a more higher-end facility then this probably wouldn't meet your standards. Otherwise, it's a cute little place in an over crowded city...great for a date or just to clear your mind. :)

This review is limited to the Chief Netawatwees statue that is erected directly opposite the…read moreentrance of the park. The statue is made entirely out of black oak and was created by Joe Frhonapfel. It weighs over 4000 pounds. Chief Netawatees was the head of the Lenape Indian tribe. Known to his people as "the wise counselor" he had relocated his people to Eastern Ohio where he helped a Moravian missionary near his village. He later died at Fort Pitt during the Revolutionary war. The statue sits on a medial strip on Front street directly facing the park. It is colorful and is a great representation of a honored tribal chief. There is a crosswalk so you can safely go over and view the statue from a safe distance. The back of the statue is solid black. Check it out before engaging in the many activities this park has to offer by the Cuyahoga river.

If you do this, please be careful- I slipped on a rock and cut my knee up pretty badly. Check out the history behind the Doodlebug crash and find a geocache if it's still there! This is a quiet spot to sit in peace. If you get a chance, take a book or a magazine and sit riverside.

Pollinators (bees, butterflies, moths, etc) are an essential part of the ecosystem. They allow native plants to survive and are important in food crop production. To help fight the decline in pollinators, Cuyahoga Falls planted this butterfly garden at the entrance of High Bridge Glens Park. It has a cute, butterfly themed rod iron entryway. Again, this garden is small, but if you catch it in bloom, I imagine it's magical. I did spot a baby monarch and that made me so happy! I loved the two signs on the property explaining what types of butterflies and flowers you might see. This would be a wonderful place to bring kids and help instill an appreciation for protecting nature. However, because this spot is small, keep that in mind during the pandemic, as it's not a space I'd care to share with anyone at all. I want to live in a world where our pollinators, particularly bees and butterflies, aren't at such a high risk of extinction. Great job to the City of Cuyahoga Falls!

There are benches and picnic tables around the lake, a small dog area (no water access) and a training area with ramps and jumps. My dog becomes the happiest version of himself when he's here. I've never seen him run and get zoomies the way that he does at Bow Wow Beach. It's really an incredible thing!!!

A nice little place for kid-friendly recreation…read more My kids wanted to cut loose and my wife found this place on Yelp. There's a baseball diamond and some tracks for walking around. More than just a slide and swings, there is some variety in the available activities for the kiddos, including a standup seesaw, and a little boat hammock. And something I'd never seen, a swing with a seat for a baby/toddler and a larger person to sit facing each other - cool. The trees seem trimmed and maintained, as well as a fresh looking batch of mulch along the ground. Nice place to have fun with the kids.

The swimming area has life guards and an aid station. It is $5.00 / person and is open most days with fairly long hours. The hiking trail usually has someone doing some cross country running. I used to live right next to Brust Park and would go there almost every day and in every season. You can never go wrong. By the parking area is an overlook looking at the Cuyahoga River. Which smells so fresh and clean. Walk the paved path (running along the river) East towards Kent or west towards Cuyahoga Falls/Silver Lake. You can make a left going west and end up in waterworks park, equally as gorgeous. It kind of seems like it's all the same park to me. Going west will also take you past a large pond that people fish in and there is often a blue heron hanging out there. There are many opportunities to get close to the river and many little trails off the beaten path that you can explore. There's always people kayaking. This park is so inspiring and I still make it a point to go out of my way to go here even though I live 30 minutes away now. As far as facilities go, there is a nice bathroom at the entrance and you can find more at waterworks a short way down the path. As far as the other review stating a junkyard exploded I have no idea what that is referring to. The park is scenic and clean, yes it does go behind some houses, but nice ones at that and I never felt that it took away from the experience. Also I don't recall there being ample trash cans for dog waste but I don't have a dog. I know there are at least a few trash cans going west. I wouldnt knock this place just for that though. I hope if you get the chance to enjoy this park that you love it as much as I do.
