They ask that you check in at the pro shop first. As I was the first tee time they weren't open yet when I got there. Luckily there was a practice basket out front to get the nerves out. The fella that opened was nice and got me checked in. I bought a disc of course, that served me well on the round actually. There was a lot of great gear as well, including the top golf bag the Squatch. I already got one or I mighta thought of getting the good looking one they had. It would be great if we had a shop like this in Florida, but at least I can visit this one.

I was beyond impressed with the Trapp Outdoor Center. First we did a snow shoe tour through the sugar bush with one of the guides. Beautiful and a great introduction to snowshoeing. We then did a cross country ski lesson and then had a blast discovering just how hard cross country really is. (Note to down hill skiers like myself, there are more differences than similarities between CC and downhill skiing.) We actually loved this whole experience and the Trapp property so much we came back a second day and did the ~6mi (10K) snowshoe trail up to the cabin, which was one of the more magical and memorable experiences of my lifetime. It was just a perfect day with perfect snow and scenery. It truly MADE my Christmas vacation. All in all, this was more than a five star experience for us. I would honestly like to just move in and sit by their fire for the rest of my life.

We had one little glitch and it was taken care of immediately and even though it wasn't a huge issue to us, we were told we were being compensate and we weren't even particularly upset or even thought we would get a discount. They are that serious about your stay being seamless and perfect. When we first booked, I wasn't so sure about staying there as we hadn't been to Stowe in 15 years, but when we arrived I wasn't so sure blown away! We are definitely going back and will be staying with Sun and Ski Resort. They have a nice little complimentary breakfast, coffee all day, and cookies in the afternoon. For a fee, there is a bowling alley and miniature golf which are extremely well maintained. The pool was very clean and the lounges soooo comfy with cushions on them. With so much rain this summer 2021, I decided to make most of it and do a waterfalls tour…read more Huntington is a bit out of the way and this review is based on my first visit. HG is a dramatic natural stunner. It's compact, STEEP and loud with ROARING waterfalls. Many falls, you cannot see from above and without endangering self. There's been many fatalities over the years so swimming and climbing down to the falls are heavily discouraged by the local government. There are several very short trails from the road for viewing but the trails were ridden with poison ivies! Also, there were poured granite gravels in an effort to alleviate a landslide (which is rare in VT) from the paved road. One could cross AFTER (not upstream) the Gorge to cross to the opposite side. If you desire to, I'd recommend wearing a pair of water-shoes and perhaps not soon after rain. HG is unlike any other rapids I've seen in VT. It is worth visiting to see the extreme changes of water flow and power of nature. It's an out of place, tiny compact version of gorges that you see out West. Parking is sparse...a handful of spots above the Gorge. It was a bit of a downer to see so much (signs) discouragement. Obviously peeps don't stop coming....maybe they could embrace and build safeguards for everyone to access and enjoy this beauty safely?
