Scott & Jeff were able to provide advise & suggestions on where to place lights,(both recessed, pendant & under cabinet) the saddles between rooms and the daily assurance that things were right on schedule. Carlos & Elvis were the team that put the kitchen together from the tear down(floors, soffit, walls & ceiling) to the wallboard, taping, cabinet and crown molding installation. At the end of each day, a thorough clean up took place and the plastic dust covers that had been disturbed were repositioned for the work to be done the following day. He then showed me a rubber radiator valve which wasn't what I was looking for. I Googled a picture and showed him, the kind of valve I needed. He say I will never find it because of size and different manufactures. I preceded to Reimens Hardware Store and to my amazement, I found the needle in the hay stack. The point is the sales representative at GPS was arrogant and condescending and didn't know what he was talking about. But thank God for Reimans True Value hardware store - they have everything.

We highly regret hiring Ivan Lopez and Gotham City Builders to renovate our apartment…read more An 8 week estimate turned into a 10 month nightmare that is still ongoing because Ivan disappeared with our materials and money. The new contractor we hired to finish the job has to fix all of Ivan's mistakes and shoddy workmanship. The work he did on our apartment is garbage and all needs to be redone. He constantly lied to us throughout the process: took our money for materials and never actually ordered them, sent us invoices to pay his crew but then after cashing our checks said he was out of money and couldn't hire workers for our job, constantly came up with excuses for why our job wasn't being finished. We're out tens of thousands of dollars with an unfinished apartment because of Ivan Lopez. BEWARE. (Photos below are the state of the apartment after Ivan Lopez was fired).

He clearly knew what he was doing and was very clear in terms of timing and price. A lot of flaws were made and I paid the money without really inspecting the work. He's not a professional contractor, i took that risk because he has a middleman here in Staten Island that gets him the jobs. He has done numerous shoddy jobs here. He's actually blackballed in Staten Island. He left a lot of uneven edges on the tiles . He left grout all over the tiles . It took me and my husband two days to clean or up! He put in my toilet and put it wrong that it caused a flood and ruined my ceiling downstairs. He then decided to turn it on us and say that it was my pipe that was damaged! I had someone else look at it and he told me that Marvin had never replaced the new ring on the toilet correctly. Marvin then said he would fix it and tried to charge me another 800$ for that!!! I said no way that's your fault. He then wanted 450.00 because he was having someone else do his this job. Total nightmare! Lesson learned. Shady ! Beware!! Stay away!!
