I swear by Josue and his team!!! They did work for me on two kitchens in my house years ago that I reviewed and posted photos of here, and I loved the work. I wanted to hire him again for my wet bar in my basement, but reviews made me a little nervous about working with him again. I couldn't understand why anyone would give him bad reviews! I'm so glad I didn't listen to them and went with my gut. He killed it for my basement and even made a suggestion that would save my original idea and make it even better! Not only that. He came on a Tuesday to do the measurements and by Thursday that same week my wet bar was completed!!! You cannot tell me there is a faster team. I had Josue do two kitchens and a bathroom for me. While it seemed like the price he initially gave me was a decent one, I later spent more money through his deception. There were several things that bothered me with some of his earlier work which I let slide and I shouldn't have. 1- he never added a small piece of quartz to my stove area on the first kitchen which allows food to fall behind the stove because of the gap. He agreed to fix it but never did. 2- He charged me more for a piece of granite that was suppose to be in one piece for my bathroom's shower sill. I initially told him I was going to use tiles for the area and he convinced me I should use one continuous piece, instead he brought it in two pieces and gave an untruthful excuse. 3- the granite used for my double sink in my bathroom is slightly too small (again I left it alone). 4- I decided to change my kitchen island on the second kitchen since the piece he was planning to use for that area would be too small. I paid Josue for a new island piece and I paid to install it even though I argued why I was paying to install since the first piece was not yet cut or added (and install was already paid for)... he said that when I was ready to use the piece for my laundry room that wasn't used for the island that he would come add it of no cost since labor for it would've already been paid. This did not happen, he tried to charge me $700 extra to add a smaller piece of quartz than what I was owed because he admitted he sold my piece and gave me a small piece to shut me up. This is when things really went south. It's also worth mentioning that the piece he did add for my island was overcharged as well since he was suppose to have a specific slant cut that he charged me extra for, but then did and easier cut and never compensated me for having me pay more for the expensive cut. He also left the inside that is visible rough. Basically everything Josue said he'd do, he basically changed after he was at my house and gave me subpar work. Be careful with this contractor and put everything in writing or do what I did with text messages. Don't let anything slide, he depends on it to rip you off. By the way, this work was done over the course of a year while my home was being renovated. He used this especially to try and rip me off because he didn't have the saved messages like I did. Josue and his team are amazing! They cut our quartz countertop to allow for a new sink and did an amazing job. They spoke with me before starting to ensure that they would provide exactly the service I needed. When they were done, they cleaned up everything and left the kitchen with virtually no dust! I had a granite countertop that I admittedly messed up trying to DIY refinish. After one company failed to repair the countertop to my satisfaction, I called Joshua asking if he could help and restore it to a factory finish. While initially leery because another contractor originally worked on it, he agreed to come over and take a look. After inspecting, he said he felt he could fix it. He gave me a ballpark estimate of around $500-600 with an exact number later on. I was leaving for vacation for a week a couple of days after he came over, so we agreed to settle on a date for him to do the work when I got back. I had called him on the phone while on vacation to try and set a date for shortly after I returned. He said that he needed to order some supplies specific to black and darker granites, but that he would still do the job and to call back in a few days to schedule an actual date. A few days later when I get home, I attempted to call and text numerous times with no reply. After finally picking up after another dialing attempt, he said he would call me back in a few minutes because he was busy, but promised that he would when I mentioned my earlier attempts to reach him. After getting no reply throughout the rest of the evening, I text him the next day asking him to call back. He finally replies saying that because I hired another contractor at the beginning, he will not be doing the job. What an unreliable, absolute waste of time. I wish I could be writing a review about Josh's actual work quality, but this guy apparently will not keep his word and is liable to back out of a job at the last minute. Based on my experience just trying to schedule a job after several weeks of communication, his actual reliability once he starts a job and work quality should come into question. read more

I needed a very small job done--I was looking to install a separate faucet in my kitchen for drinking water, and in order to do so, I needed a small hole drilled in my Quartzite counter. Contacted several stone fabricators, and they all basically said they wouldn't bother with projects that small. The one exception was JV Granite. They stopped by the very next day, and within ten minutes I had a perfectly round clean hole in my counter that allowed for easy installation of my faucet. I found the price to be reasonable, and Josue was friendly and accommodating. Five stars, would definitely go back for larger projects. read more

Josue installed a marble countertop in my kitchen in downtown NYC and he did an incredible job. We had some spare marble pieces that we wanted to use for the kitchen so he picked up the marble pieces (which were very heavy and unwieldy), cut them to size, polished them and installed them. The counters look incredible and we always receive compliments on them. Josue was very professional and responsive and the results speak for themselves. His pricing was fair and I highly recommend him and JV Granite to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen (or any part of their home). read more

We had a very positive experience with JV Granite and Marble. Most importantly, they did a beautiful job and we love the way our new counters look. Almost as important, Josue was a pleasure to deal with, which anyone who has ever had work done on their home knows is not easy to find. He somehow manages to create the perfect balance of being friendly and respectful with his professionalism and attention to detail. Going into our kitchen renovation, I knew I was going to have a very specific idea in mind for the counters. I spoke with many fabricators and felt brushed off by some, and pressured by others to choose something different than what I had in mind. Josue could not have been more patient with me. He was willing to hone a piece of granite that other fabricators said could not be done because it "doesn't come from the warehouse that way" and provided a small sample for me. Ultimately I didn't like the way it looked and fell in love with a Quartzite that only could be found at one supplier in the area. Other fabricators either refused to get that stone or charged an absurd fee to get it from the supplier. Joshua was agreeable to get the stone and met me at the supplier to help select the perfect slab. His fee was very reasonable. He took careful measurements and I was amazed by the end results. He placed the template on the slab to get the most beautiful parts of the slab with nice veining. The install was relatively fast and they made it look easy which I am sure it was not. Josue was there for the install and made sure everything was perfect. Honestly, this is one of the best interactions I've had with a contractor of any kind. read more
