However, I was desperately in need of a salon that accepted walk-ins and was accessible for disabled customers, so I decided to give them a try. I am very glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and asked what services I wanted. I requested a shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and a trim. I was taken right away for my shampoo and deep conditioner. Another stylist set my hair on rollers, and once I was finished under the dryer, another stylist promptly began styling my hair. The entire process was efficient, and all of the stylists I interacted with were friendly, patient, and accommodating. As someone with a disability, I especially appreciated the kindness and patience they showed me. Unfortunately, that is not always the experience disabled customers receive, so their attentiveness meant a great deal. My only minor concern was that during the deep conditioning treatment, I was not initially offered a towel to protect my clothing. I did ask for one because I did not want my shirt to get wet, and it was provided. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and the professionalism of the staff. My experience was positive, and I plan to return in the future.

A rough estimated wait time should be given initially because I was there for 5hrs despite them starting the coloring right away. My uncle & aunt owned a beauty salon for more than 55 years. He was still running and training ppl in his 80's. I used to work there in high school for a few extra dollars cleaning up, or being a hair model. So, I am a bit familiar with it. My uncle used my model cuts to properly train his stylists in how to use clippers, which size combs to use, how to not curve to the crown, placement of dryer cord, clipper cords, proper seat height for the stylist for best angles on the customer, etc... Haley does really great work. She is precise on her lines, knows how to do a clipper cut properly, and actually listens to the customer when they tell her what and how they want it cut, with what guards, etc. No sass like I constantly heard at other places. Are you sure you want to go that low, are you sure you want to leave a line instead of blending it? More importantly, Haley goes the extra mile. She hits the stray hairs on the ears, trims eye brows, hits the temple hair lines properly, goes lower on the neck. Give her a try, and you wont regret it.

I visited two people, one a trainee and the other a consultant (Shawn McWhirter with All Tangled Up, LLC). After attending each lady's consultation appointment and receiving starter locs from each, I decided on Shawn. I picked Shawn over the other lady, not because she is certified and the other lady is a trainee, but because Shawn provided a much more thorough consultation and educated me. I had my SLs installed about 3 months ago and I love them more and more each day. I am so happy that I decided to get them and to get them installed by Shawn. She has given me tips and tools for care, been accessible, informative, comforting and an overall joy to be around. I highly recommend Shawn to anyone considering or who already has Sisterlocks. She cares about and gets to know each of her clients. PROS: Homey salon with free wi-fi, snacks and TV. No overbooking or rushed appointments. Easy parking. CONS: I believe she's getting a little too popular. As her availability is less open. Bad for me but good for her.

Shawn did my establishment and I was a faithful customer for many years. As time passed on, she became greedy and wanting to add more clientele than she can manage. The first red flag I should of paid attention to was when she jammed me right before my wedding. I had to find someone else because she was "overbooked". I still went to her for another two years and gradually her attitude became so unbearable, it was like she was doing me a favor in taking my $175 every 5 weeks. She was the first and only SL consultant I went to and although she has recognition on the SL world, her work has become very sloppy. She is only concerned with taking your money. The last straw was recently when she finished 3/4 of my head and told me she had another client. She advised her assistant would call to schedule me. That was 4 weeks ago... ultimately I made the decision to do the big chop after 4 years and I feel so much better. I'm very spiritual and can feel when negative energy is around me and I got tired of carrying it in my hair. I love Sisterlocks and will list likely get a new set in the future from someone who has the time and attention to give to their clients. If you are looking for a stable consultant that you can go through your SL journey with, All tangled up isn't it. This is coming from a long time client... Find someone else.

I got here around 1053 and noticed the shop had the lights off and the door locked so I figured they were closed and started googling other salons. As I was looking on my phone, I notice her pull into the parking lot and walk inside. She turned the lights on and left the door open. I gave it about 5 minutes and then proceeded to get out my car and go inside. I open the door and said "Hello! :) Goodmorning. I was just leaving when I noticed you worked here! I'm glad I stayed." She instantly became irritated and said "I just got here ". I replied "Okay did you need more time? I see the sign says open at 10 and you left the door open.." Then her attitude really turned up. "Ugh... what service do you even want??" as she scoffed.. I said "I would like a full set.." Then she just rolled her eyes and stared at me then started to do something else with no response to my question. So I just left. My hair before this was almost down to my hips and before I met her I didn't trust anyone to have me go this short until I worked with Karen.
