I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home. After my…read morehusband's passing, we first met with Aaron, the original funeral director, who was kind and attentive. Unfortunately, after that, everything fell apart. The actual funeral was on a weekend that the funeral director working was Matt Stradling, so we got him by default. He was cold and unprofessional. There was no technical person--a part time employee, Ron, was supposed to handle the sound system and slide show but had no idea how to work the system. When the widow suggested hiring someone might be a good idea, Ron sarcastically said, "Well, that's not gonna happen, babe." Worse still, Ron sat in a family member's chair during the service and did not get up when that person returned to their seat after speaking. Both Ron and Matt were overheard gossiping about the widow in the back of the room during the funeral. After such a promising start with Aaron, this was a devastating fall from grace. I would never recommend them in a time of such profound loss.

Tyler and Kelsey were truly a blessing. Because of their attention to details, the service for…read moremy father-in-law went very smoothly. They provided and arranged everything we requested. The special touches they provided made the service memorable and meaningful. We kept receiving calls days later on how beautiful the service was. We visited other funeral homes however, they did not provide the same type of service as Houck and Gofus. We were told on several of our requests that the family would have to provide. For example, military honors. We were told we would have to arrange. Tyler and Kelsey made all of the arrangements, we did not have to make one phone call. We even stopped by in the evening without an appointment. Tyler, without hesitation, stopped what he was doing and invited us in and reviewed the information and answered all of our questions. This was great customer service at its best! The very next morning we met with Kelsey and the arrangements were made. Living in Phila, this was extremely helpful. We did not have to go back and forth, Tyler and Kelsey arranged everything for us from the flowers, military honors, death certificates, a pastor and pictures for both the obituary and slide show. We did not have a repass, Kelsey provided a local caterer who provided the delicious box lunches. Grumpy's was able to cater the event, the ordering was done over one phone call; it was all very hassle free. I cannot stress that enough! I would definitely recommend Houck and Gofus. They are extremely professional and extremely proficient. Did I mention they are really genuine nice people. They get back to you right away and they never made us feel like we were bothering them with our questions. Please do not go to anyone else, make Houck and Gofus your choice for your loved ones. You will be glad you did!
