Before my daughter's first dental visit, I specifically called and asked if we could opt out of fluoride and X-rays. I was told this could be discussed with the doctor. Their intake paperwork even asks if you consent to X-rays, and I clearly marked no. I thought there would be a conversation. Instead, there was none. Dr. B. Gene Whitehead came in and immediately told me that if I refused X-rays, we should just leave, because they would not provide any care -- not even a simple cleaning, which I was prepared to pay cash for. I even said I would pay for the X-rays but did not want them performed, and the response was still, "No cleaning without X-rays." Dr. B. Gene Whitehead spoke to me in a dismissive and condescending way, as if patients have no say and must just obey whatever he decides. This was supposed to be my daughter's very first dental experience, and instead, I walked out feeling completely humiliated. I'm not someone who cries easily, but I left in tears from how belittled and disrespected I felt. That says everything about how poorly the situation was handled. A professional could still decline to provide a service, but with kindness and respect -- which was completely lacking here. I also want to clarify that this is not a holistic or patient-centered practice, despite how it may be recommended. They push X-rays and fluoride, and Dr. B. Gene Whitehead was very old-fashioned in his approach, showing no willingness to listen to patient concerns. Thankfully, I have already found another dentist who was happy to see my daughter for a cleaning without forcing X-rays. So yes, it is possible -- and patients deserve the right to choose what is best for their children. Overall: rude, unprofessional, misleading, and a complete waste of time.

The technician that took her back was FABULOUS she took the time to explain every single step and tool to my daughter BEFORE doing it, which is exactly what my daughter needs to feel safe and secure in new places. I would recommend them to EVERYONE with Littles needing a great introductory experience at the dentist. Tooth Caboose in Plant City was the location we visited.

It is easy for me to say, look closer at other orthos before choosing with this practice! If you must, cause this guy IS good, go with Invisalign!!! This review is not intended to hurt this practice, but you have to know what you are in for. The doctor does do great work but I felt left in the dark over my experience as he doesn't share any clincheck information. Doc expects patients to remember everything from the first visit years prior. So take notes. It would be helpful if the office actually stuck to its schedule. Best of luck if your kid breaks a bracket. You may not be able to get help when needed cause you never know which office will be open, which times, or days. Expect to leave messages that may or may not get returned. Also ask what type of appointment you have, cause they expect you to wait an hour and not tell you. Two locations with one doctor is a pretty obvious red flag that I learned the hard way. My treatment had to be extended due to how bad the office is run. resulting in keeping some trays hostage when it was time to move on. At the end of your treatment, be prepared for a large balance (not including the $500 over night trays) despite on time perfectly scheduled payments that should conclude at the end of this very specific time framed situation. I guess the billing department can't math. So glad this experience is over!!!!

I called and told her my tooth was broken and I was in pain and she said the only way I could be seen was if I wanted to pay cash because the preauthorization had not come back yet and I would have to call the insurance company myself to get it expedited. The insurance company called her and asked her to resubmit the treatment plan in a different order to get the emergency taken care of and she said she would not do it. I had to go to another Great Expressions office that saw me immediately the day I called and called the insurance company and got things taken care of and got me out of pain that day. The dentist who does extractions at this office (Bellair Bluffs) - Dr. Abied - did a terrible job. I have never had a bad experience with a dentist before. He was obviously in a hurry and gave me several injections to numb the area for extractions (4 teeth) in under a minute. I know from experience that when the dentist does each one slowly there is no pain other than the initial pinch. It was very painful and my entire body was shaking when he finished. That has never happened before. I have had extractions before and the dentist always leaves the room for 5-10 minutes to allow the numbing agent to take effect. He did not do this and immediately started working on the extractions when he finished the injections stating "it's already starting to get numb." He told me to raise my left hand if I felt any pain. Several times I raised my left hand and cried out in pain and he never slowed down or even paused. Instead he just said "breathe" and kept going. When he didn't stop I tried to close my mouth and he said "keep it open" and kept working. He had absolutely no regard for the pain I was in and refused to slow down, pause, or manage the pain in any way. I would warn anyone to not use him for any dental work as he obviously does not care about his patients' comfort. I have had a lot of dental work prior to this, including root canals and never experienced pain and disrespect like this. This is unacceptable and all of it was preventable and unnecessary.

I researched every doctor in the area that hanged out a shingle to practice. I settled on Dr Ha Sedation and Family Practice in Palm Harbor, FL. What an amazing journey. From my first phone call to (Heather) to the lady who set up my program (Tracheala), the entire team...Dr Ha and Dr Mrs Ha, the entire staff front desk, and oral technicians...this was hands down the best experience I have ever had with any type of oral dentistry. These folks are outgoing, professional, personable and caring. Dr Ha was absolutely the best. We talked about golf. He never hurried through treatment. I was always on time and so was the doctor. Our rapport and his professional demeanor were top notch. I should also mention, his process and work ethic are more like art. Every detail was attended and every issue was addressed. Dr Ha removed multiple teeth, inserted implants as anchors for lower dentures and replaced all my uppers. I have never been happier. Their product is better than my original teeth. This "Team" is the best medical team I have ever encountered. I'm lucky. I get to go back now every four months to see them for maintenance. I give them Five Stars Plus, and am deeply grateful because this is one journey in my life I will will not forget. Thanks for the memories.... Jan T Lust

I rarely write negative reviews, but I was very disappointed with my experience at Palm Harbor…read morePremier Dental. I made an appointment because they advertised a $98 special that included X-rays, a cleaning, and an evaluation by the dentist. I hadn't had a dental cleaning in quite some time and simply wanted a good cleaning, X-rays, and then the dentist's recommendations about anything else I might need. The technician took numerous X-rays and photos. I was then told that I needed a more extensive gingivitis/deep cleaning that would cost over $300, with the $98 I had already paid applied toward it. I declined and said I simply wanted the regular cleaning that was included in the advertised special. I was perfectly willing to listen to any recommendations from the dentist and decide afterward whether I wanted additional treatment. They refused to do the regular cleaning. That was the part I found so disappointing. I came in for the services that were advertised for $98, paid the $98, and expected those services to be provided. I ultimately left without having my teeth cleaned. Interestingly, later that same day I received two texts and a voicemail saying they had checked with the office manager and that it was now okay for me to come back and receive the regular cleaning. By then, I had no interest in returning. I was a chiropractor for more than 26 years and at times offered free examinations and/or X-rays to new patients. If that was what I advertised, that was what the patient received. If I recommended additional care, the patient could then decide whether to proceed. I don't have an issue with a dental office recommending additional treatment they believe is appropriate. I do have an issue with advertising a specific service, accepting payment for it, and then refusing to provide it unless the patient agrees to a more expensive service. I won't be returning.
