My daughter actually pointed this one out to me when we were walking past as she had spied a range of Cath Kidston bags that were right up my street. Wonderland is a step up from the others I've seen as they stock designer products as well as less known (and less expensive) brands. There's a fabulous range and the shop assistant I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helpful; sadly she told me the designer ranges weren't discounted in the sale but everything else was. Still, it's nice to have a place where you can buy at several price points and lust after the things you can't afford. There's handbags through to cabin luggage and everything is excellent quality and much more interesting than those other bags shops that all seem to have the same things at exorbitant prices.

It's kind of off the beaten track, behind Rialto cinemas in that little area on Kent Street that seems to be growing more and more popular by the day. It's standalone and the layout of the store is quite nice. They stock similar things to MADE - notably APC. They also do Karen Walker, Standard Issue, House of Holland eyewear, etc. There's men's and women's clothes and accessories, and as well as new, they stock some vintage. The staff were nice, friendly without being overbearing. I tried on a few things, walked out with a pair of really stonewashed 90s Levi's. I'd say the store fits somewhere inbetween Area 51/Black Box and Fabric in terms of prices and brands. My fashion/shopping expert friends thought I should give the place three stars but I think it's a bit above 60%, and extra points because I bought something. Worth a visit.

This is a brand new store which is part of the new street complex in Newmarket. It's a really lovely place, laid out beautifully and stocks labels such as Status Anxiety, Louis Vuitton, APC and Karen Walker as well as boasting a pretty awesome vintage section! Their prices were really reasonable and that is what I loved so much about this place, they hadn't conformed to the Newmarket trend and overpriced everything. I purchased a lovely leather bag for only $150 which I though was a real bargain, as well as one of Karen Walker's new season key-rings for only $29! The two staff working there was so nice to talk to and I felt really comfortable with them, not looked down upon which is sadly common in upmarket boutiques. I knew instantly that I had found my new favourite shop and I'm probably going to have to go back tomorrow and get those boots....yay!

Whether you're on the hunt for something particular, or you just want to go for a nose, Rosie's always has a great collection - from Doc Martens and anoraks to 90s dresses and handbags, and sometimes they have jewellery and the like in there as well. Always good for costume parties too. I probably visit Rosies once a month and usually end up buying something, if not for me then for someone else.

I had no idea what kind of brands or styles of things were the best to buy, and I found when I went into large chain stores or big brand stores, the staff there just gave me one item of everything I needed in order to get me to spend a few hundred bucks in their store. Mac Pac Newmarket wasn't like that. In fact, they recommended their back pack, which I ended up buying, and gave me good examples of other places I should get the other things I needed. In general I find the pieces here to be a mixed bag.. either cool designs from up and coming labels or overpriced basics. Which is a shame because I remember a few years ago thinking that Superette used to stock the coolest stuff, or maybe it was just labels releasing cooler clothes. Now whenever I think of Superette I just think of it as the place where EGGS girls come to buy their party dresses. No need to wait for end of season sales to be able to spend up large! My last trip to Dressmart I was looking for work clothes and ended up buying three dresses, a blouse, and a singlet top for $60 - a feat that just wouldn't happen anywhere else. However, my real find of the trip was the chunky wedge sandals I found in Glassons. Down from $59.99, I ended up purchasing them for $10, and when I took them to the counter found out accessories were buy one get one free, so ended up walking away with a great black flower hairclip for free as well! Talk about a happy shopper! Though predominantly a clothing outlet, Dressmart also houses eateries, sports shops, shoe shops, health and beauty stores and book stores. The only thing that is missing is a jewellery store, but when you're saving so much money on everything else I guess paying full price for jewellery isn't so bad! Located near Auckland transport stations and with lots of customer parking and a free shuttle service operating Monday-Friday between the mall and Auckland CBD, despite being in Onehunga Dressmart is easily accessible.

Also Dress smart Onehunga is home to the only outlet shop for Peter Alexander in New Zealand! Dress Mart really is the place to visit if you want to save money on branded items. It gets really busy on weekends though, so either be prepared, or come early. Sometimes I find myself getting a bit disoriented inside trying to find a particular shop, but that might just be me!

Mention must also be made of the fantastic people who work at Claire. Whilst in some high-end shops you are lucky to even be acknowledged, at Claire you are always greeted with a smile. Furthermore, the staff are fantastic at recommending clothes that fit your shape and style and aren't afraid to tell you when something doesn't suit.
