pour me over, or in this case another glass please!…read more A fun night out with some friends to celebrate some birthdays. Small drink menu, but options to choose from wine, beer or cider. I got a glass of Cabernet. The bar is up front right when you walk in, great service and everyone working is really nice. Inside has plenty of seating in the garden, large tables and picnic tables around. You can also bring in your own food for your own picnic experience. They also offer small bites and a pizza spot off to the side. **On Fridays and Saturdays they offer silent disco (FCFS base).

Since I don't mind walking,I was able to find street parking. But avoid going further up Sherman way; by some cul de sac residential area; they have signs saying not to park on the street--on the street with a sign specifically telling you to respect the neighbors. Also poor internet service up here, so I'm not a fan. I arrived without a reservation and it was fine. They offer the outdoor patio and even noticed a private event taking place. They also have indoor seating with tables and sofas. I spent the majority of my afternoon inside as I was avoiding the heat. Just depends what type of wine you select; but Pricey here for a flight of red wine four types; $59 but my fault for going with all reds! They are top tier. Flight wine Saddlerock: Syrah, Cab, KOM, and Res Cab. Syrah was the on the dry side (as it is known to be) and not as sweet. Still really good. The KOB was a combination and it was delicious. That was my fav out of the batch. I also bought water for $5 but it's a big bottle of sparkling water; Not tap. My total here was $64 paid with my card and closed my tab. For the following rounds, I paid cash: I had two rounds of IPA beer: both were really good in my opinion. "Pliny the elder" by Russian river IPA and "food fight" by common space. Glass was $10-11each 16oz Lastly, I ordered a charcuterie cheese and crackers which was $28 the board itself was very cute and decorated nicely. Overall, this place can be pricey but I was there to hang out, explore their menu and drink so it worked out for me in the end.

I loved that…read morethey didn't require any sort of deposit or fee to book the reservation and I particularly LOVED that parking here is free. I found that a lot of the other wineries in Malibu charged to book the reservation and most charged $20-25 for parking, so the free parking alone made me jump to book this place. I didn't want all of my friends to have to drive such a long way AND pay for parking! The space is different than what the old Rosenthal winery used to be, but it's actually more intimate and nicer! Apparently this is where they used to host VIPs before the fire, so it feels like a more exclusive space. The entrance feels quite sudden and easy to miss while driving, but you enter a small driveway after confirming the reservation name with the guard, and then drive along a beautiful road until you hit the entrance. Such a beautiful drive in! There were tables set up for everyone and it's not overly crowded which is nice. They even had live music (they were great!). They had a pretty decent wine list, whites, reds, roses, sweet, bubbly, but no non-alcoholic wines for those curious. They don't serve any food which feels like a bummer at first, but they do allow you to bring any and all food and non-alcoholic beverages you want. So it's essentially like a picnic but at a nice winery. We had plenty of snacks and bites so we were just fine, and they were ok with my bottle of non-alcoholic bubbly wine. We had a great time here! Perfect for celebrations! They still have their fun big blue wooden chair too which is perfect for pics.

Great ambiance, quiet, casual, you're encouraged ahead of time to bring your own picnic snacks and food as they do not sell anything on site. Live band that day was fun to listen to, small variety of wines to select for purchase by the glass or bottle consumed on site or taken home. Nice day time getaway

From the moment you arrive, you feel transported -- like you've stepped into the middle of an enchanted forest. The setting is exquisite and utterly peaceful, with birdsong in the background and, in our case, the most gorgeous, healthy-looking coyote casually trotting by the creek our outdoor table was overlooking mid-dinner. Even the wildlife knows this place is special. We started with the marinated olives and the house bread served with fennel butter -- a combination that set the tone perfectly. The fennel butter alone is worth the trip -- it is unique and very tasty -- their bread is made in house and DELICIOUS. I had the pomegranate spritzer mocktail, which was refreshingly light and not too sweet -- ideal for sipping through a long, leisurely dinner. For wine lovers, they carry half bottles, which is a lovely touch. We had a 2016 Bordeaux that was honestly one of the best wines either of us has ever tasted. On to the food -- the vegan soup (Charred Leek & Potato) was a wonderful starter (perfectly seasoned), and for my main I had the scallops, which were beautifully portioned and seasoned as well. My friend ordered the braised short rib and said it was phenomenal. Note on the Creamy Polenta -- SMOOTHEST most DELICIOUS polenta ever. But the MVP of the evening was our server, Brian. Confident, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible meal. When we asked for a dessert recommendation he didn't hesitate -- banana bread pudding -- and he was absolutely right. Don't skip it. The couple next to us had the Mushroom Truffle Risotto which they raved about. Inn of the Seventh Ray is one of those rare places that nourishes you on every level. We'll be back.... SOON. We left totally blissed out from the whole experience. We recommend sitting outside -- it's just so soothing and special to sit creekside and be able to see and listen to all that wildlife. Heaters are there if you get chilly, but we were 100% comfortable. Also, side note on the darling store on-site -- called the Spiral Staircase. They sell books, crystals, gift-like items and it's a treat to walk through there and check everything out. And there's a wine store on-site too with a great selection.
