Tour included about 10-12 people total and was completely free (!!) in hopes of attendees buying wine bottles at the end (which was fairly priced and very good - our group of 3 got 4 bottles for $120 total.) The owners are celebrating the lost art of breaking bread and sharing time and stories with strangers over wine - felt like something that you'd find in Italy. I didn't really know what to expect since there weren't a ton of reviews for this, but my group (2 adult sisters + our mom) really loved the concept of this entire experience. It's not a typical wine tasting where they give you 5 wines and leave you be at a table, so wouldn't go here if that's what you're looking for. But if you're looking for a unique, less touristy experience, this is an amazing place to learn more about the history of wine in the region directly from wine-makers, stroll around a beautiful vineyard, and connect with others in Ojai enjoying the same things. Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.

The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. Cornell is a good place to taste wines from all over the area, grab food and relax with friends. I've been coming here for years, and somehow it has kept its rustic charm, even with new ownership. Buy a bottle, grab a wobbly table, and settle in for open mic poetry, acoustic music, steaks, or a tinned fish tasting. (Check the online calendar for scheduled events.) The staff is knowledgeable about Southern California wines, especially from Santa Barbara and Ventura, and tastings can be a good way to learn more. A significant amount of seating here is outdoors, so dress like you're camping: think layers, and maybe a blanket. It's somewhat remote, so we tend to stay a while. This was the venue of our dreams and definitely worth the price. The venue itself is gorgeous, but it also comes with some great amenities that made it a perfect fit for us (such as the cottage and bungalow to get ready in as well as the accessibility). It was easy for our guests to get to, there is plenty of parking, and the whole space is just beautiful. We loved all of the peacocks and water features - it feels like you're walking into an oasis. The cottage and bungalow were as huge plus for us as we got to hang out and get ready before the ceremony in the AC with our friends and family. Our guests kept telling us how much they loved the venue as well as the Eden Gardens, Velvet Alley Events, and CPC staff as everyone was so helpful and friendly. We are also really glad to have chosen preferred vendors, as everyone worked together seamlessly and knew exactly how to get around the venue. The venue and coordinator teams were extremely thorough with the information they provided and helped us through every step of the process.
