I highly recommend Stratford School in Morgan Hill! My daughter attended 5th grade here and has recently graduated, and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. The curriculum design is outstanding. The school places a strong emphasis on core academics and genuine teaching. As a parent, it was incredibly reassuring to see a school dedicated strictly to academic excellence and traditional core values, without being distracted by the non-academic social and gender topics that are increasingly prevalent in public schools today. It gave me great peace of mind. I also have to mention how beautiful the campus itself is. The building features gorgeous high ceilings and real wood floors. Unlike so many modern schools that can feel sterile and lifeless--almost like a hospital or an office building--Stratford has a warm, welcoming, and truly premium environment. It genuinely feels like a luxury, top-tier private school. My daughter needed some extra support in math, and her 5th-grade teacher, Ms. Hannah, was a blessing. She was incredibly patient and took the time to help my daughter step-by-step, not just in math but across all subjects. Because of this, my daughter felt comfortable, confident, and loved learning in her class. She also made great friends and got along wonderfully with her classmates. The administration and staff are phenomenal. When we had to make a very last-minute transition to Stratford in 2025 after the school year had already started, Ms. Andrea from the admin team quickly and efficiently handled our enrollment, making a stressful situation so much easier. We also had wonderful experiences with other amazing teachers, like Ms. Ashley and Ms. Patricia. A special shoutout to Stratford's unique Music Class! The music program is fantastic, and the music teacher is exceptional. Our whole family, especially my husband and my mother-in-law absolutely loved the winter and spring programs the school put together. I firmly believe music education is vital at any age, and as a parent, I am so grateful that Stratford is willing to invest so much in the arts. I also want to highlight the school's special after-school Chinese club. My daughter and her classmates had so much fun learning there! It is a wonderful and unique program that you simply won't find at any other school in Morgan Hill. Finally, I want to specifically commend the principal, Ms. Violet. Her management style and the way she leads the school gave me so much confidence. I felt completely secure having my child here. My only regret is that we didn't move her to this school sooner! Teachers here are all very nice and friendly. Every single worker makes an effort to learn all of the kid's names within a few days. The staff are all very responsive on the app and send daily photos. There are always a school event every month including a recital where all the of the kids get together and sing. The playgrounds are separated and have plenty of new toys. My daughter absolutely loved it here. This is her favorite school out of all the schools that we have been to. This school is definitely the best school you can have for your kids. I have never felt such warmth and welcoming. Both of my kids went here from 2.5 to 5 yo. They were well-prepared for kindergarten. Both started reading at 3 years old. The teachers are great. The kids love them and we love them too. If you want an environment that your kids can learn and grow, this is it. The only thing they don't offer that most daycare do is lunch. First thing I saw when I came in to review this school is the review of a person who attended an open house and left speculations based on what she thought this 'small' school could or could not do. Well, as Stratford Morgan Hill parents for the last three years my wife and I have put our money where our mouths are and realized the small and limited setting for this campus is precisely what makes the difference in this Stratford. My son attended Stratford for preschool and pre-k and is now well making his way through kindergarten, and his little sister will be going to the same school starting August. The small student-to-teacher ratio ensures every child gets the attendtion they deserve. Every teacher and staff member who has interacted with us in the school, particularly, Ms. Sidebotham, Ms. Violet, Ms. Andrea, Mr. Ralph, Ms. Fery, Ms. Vanessa, Ms. V, Ms. Patricia, Ms. Annie (too many more names to count and thank), etc. has been an integral part of our son's life so far, and of ours as well, to a great extent. School can be scary to kids as they get started and the folks here know how to make it a welcome sanctuary for the little ones as they start their journeys out to the real world. There is clear rigor in academics, particularly starting with kinder, but the aim of the school is to foster well-rounded development in STEAM. Their curriculum may appear daunting to some families. With all of my heart, I thank Stratford for the excellence and love they delivered to our children. Our two boys went through Pre-school, Pre-K and Kindergarten and we are moving to another town. The way that they individually show love and care, the many art projects and academic progress they brought home... deserves ALL the applause. Don't get me started on their music program. My son who just finished Pre-K couldn't even sit still for 5 minutes to do a worksheet. He went through the summer Kinder Prep program and is able to write SENTENCES. My daughter attended Stratford for preschool and Pre-kindergarten, as well as a summer camp. She also attended a Kindergarten Prep summer program the summer prior to entering kindergarten. We can't say enough positive things about them. The staff is absolutely phenomenal. This is my daughter's first year at Stratford in the PreK program with Miss Vanessa and Miss Katia and we've been so happy with our experience. My daughter has multiple severe food allergies, and both teachers have been so communicative with me about them. I can leave her there and know that she is safe. I can't say praise this school and it's teachers enough! Originally, I had planned to send my daughter to a public elementary school, down the street from my home. Since her birthday is in September, right after the cutoff date, and I felt she was ready for kindergarten, I asked whether after the start of the school year she could be assessed and move from TK to K. The public school leaders mentioned that often times the reverse is true and kindergarteners are demoted to TK. They also mentioned it was best not to push a child. This was definitely not the answer I was seeking nor did I mention pushing her beyond her abilities. This began my pursuit to find a better school to enrich my daughter's young mind. After touring at Stratford school I knew immediately I had found the right place. My daughter fit right into her class. The curriculum is amazing, while to me it seems advanced, my daughter enjoys learning and keeps up with the pace. In a short time reading has clicked, her penmanship improves daily and she has fun learning math. She comes home singing songs about loving school, gets along with all her classmates and loves all the teachers. My daughter is on her last year (5th Grade) with this campus. She has been attending Stratford Morgan Hill since she was in Pre-K. The experience has been wonderful and I have been impressed with its many offers; academically, the arts, socially, pillars, and education as a whole child. The staff has become a part of our family and I can't thank them enough of how understanding and supportive they have been with life's many changes in the past 6 years. Mrs. Damato (the Principal) is approachable and hands on. She is often seen at every event the school and involved with the children's activities. She knows each child by name and makes it a habit to identify each child with its parents. When there is a problem, her approach has been in the best interest of the children. For example, my child was sick and out of school for almost 2 weeks in kindergarten and 1st grade. She made it possible for my child not to fall behind by working with me and the teachers. Mrs. Damato is solution oriented and not passive person. Mrs. Rush (Admin) has been a breath of fresh air who greets me with smiles and friendliness. Regardless of how busy she was, she made me feel like I was the only person she was addressing. She is very organized and effective. Homework pick-up (when my child was absent), lunch drop off (when I had an impossible morning) , medical and dental appointments, has been easy and accessible because of Mrs Rush promptness and skills. She responds quickly to emails and phone calls. I have had the best experiences with the teachers. At 4, my daughter was clingy and Miss Mimi helped me every morning by distracting her so I could sneak off easily. Miss Mimi was kind and compassionate and my daughter stills love her. They learned how to write, read, recognize numbers and add, Science, Music, and Spanish. It was in a personal and fun environment. My daughter also learned to interact positively with other students. Her kinder teachers, (Miss Erin and Miss Castro) were patient and understanding. They often worked with me and made me feel at ease when my child was absent. The education seemed advance but their approach were hands-on in a fun environment. This class introduced reciting a poem weekly so the child is comfortable with public speaking. They had a separate computer, music, Spanish, and P.E. teachers. They learned how to navigate and introduced coding in computers. P.E. was twice a week learning several types of sports. Spanish class is done in school only by utilizing computers and object identifications. They can write Spanish simple sentences by 1st grade.They sang in music class and performed 2x/year. These classes are up to 5th grade with each year getting more complex. Miss Hughes in 1st grade was very approachable and seemed happy all the time. She was an outstanding teacher who was able to reach my daughter in ways I could not. For example, my daughter was drawing atoms and electrons properly on her own time. I asked the teacher about it and she said they were learning electricity and static. 2nd Grade was Mrs. Terrazza and she was extremely patient. She introduced science with a lot of hands-on activities. My daughter's reading skills got pretty advanced with Mrs. Terrazza. I could not believe that my daughter wanted a thick book for at-home reading (Riordan series). 3rd Grade was a lot of independence. Her teacher worked with us in teaching responsibility with consequences. Mrs Crowder's approach was making mistakes was a learning experience. In the 4th Grade, Mrs Lilley, taught the kids poetry writing and entered the class in a poetry contest. I was completely amazed the poetry my daughter wrote. To this day, I am unsure how Mrs. Lilley did it. My daughter became more independent with school work and time management. Mrs. Lilleys approach was to make sure that the kids understood what they were learning. We had a teacher change in the early school year of 5th Grade. However, Mrs. Damato called each parent individually to let us know. I appreciated that a lot. We miss Mrs. Muchamuel and her teaching methods but the transition to Miss Badgley has been comfortable. Mrs. Badgley introduced ClassDojo where she posts classroom activities. In less than a week, she informed me that my daughter was a visual learner. I have been fortunate that my daughter have had a wonderful experience in an advanced curriculum. Her homework has been minimal and most of the learning is in the classroom. Each teacher understood the students' developmental growth and cognitive abilities and reached the student in the best approach. My daughter gives them hugs and exchange kind words when she sees her past teachers in the hallway. This tells me that she developed a positive relationship with them. I was a helicopter mom and by the middle of kinder, I relaxed because I felt my daughter was in good hands. She formed special bonds with friends and they look out for each other. read more

My son started in preschool at stratford Morgan Hill. These 2 years has been really amazing. He has surprised us many times by speaking about phases of the moon and solar system and what not. They cover a variety of subjects in school as early as pre school and pre k. Now my son has started reading a little bit and he is only 4. Stratford Morgan Hill is an Educational Oasis! Our son is in First Grade there, and this year at Stratford has absolutely saved his education. Last year he was in public school where he was under-challenged and under-supervised with predictably poor results. (And that other school is considered one of Morgan Hill's best publc schools!) When we began looking at schools for our first child, we were concerned that a private school environment would be too high pressure and lack balance between academics, arts, and creative play. After meeting with the staff at Stratford, we enrolled our daughter in Kindergarten. We have since enrolled our son as well, and couldn't be more pleased. The quality of education is top notch. We continue to be amazed at how both of our kids have progressed in math, reading, science, music, computers and art. Our children love going to school and enjoy all of their subjects. Class sizes are small, the campus is beautiful and safe, and the before and aftercare programs are outstanding. An unexpected but very pleasant surprise we've found with our Stratford school is the sense of collaboration and communication with teachers and staff. They are very open and responsive to feedback and very willing to do what makes sense for our children, the school and the community. Above all that, we've found a great sense of community with our Stratford school. Parents are encouraged to participate often, we've made many new friends, and we've found this participation has made the experience that much more enjoyable. When we moved from San Jose to Morgan Hill in 2013, our son had to go to a daycare in the area because we were new and he was not potty trained. He went to this daycare for 7months and I was less than impressed with the quality of academic contents of the preschool class. I looked on greatschools.org and Stratford was the only 5star rated school in the area. I scheduled a tour and as soon as I got to the school and met Cheryl (Principal), Andrea (Office Administrator) and the preschool teachers then (Ms Violet and Ms Elysia) I fell in love. The class looked so organised and the curriculum seemed fun yet relevant. We enrolled our son and by the end of the first week, I kid you not he was reciting pledge of allegiance casually on his own. He completed preschool and pre-k and at the end of pre-k he was reading mostly independently. With the hope of saving money, we thought we were fortunate that our son got into one of the top rated public school in Morgan Hill so we went ahead and pulled him out of Stratford at Kindergarten and enrolled him at the public school. I volunteered several times in the classroom and realised the content of the curriculum was way behind that of Stratford and our son looked so bored in class because he had learnt all that was been taught. We re-evaluated our priorities and our family's finances and decided to re-enroll our son back at Stratford after 6weeks into the academic year. The principal (Cheryl) and Kindergarten teacher (Ms Primeau) were so supportive in helping him get up to speed and catch up to his peers. We love Stratford so much that we decided to enroll our daughter for summer camp this year. She was meant to continue on into preschool for the current academic year but it was with a sad and heavy heart our family left Stratford because we moved out of state. Now in first grade in a different state, my son's teacher told me last week he is reading at 4th grade level!!!! Common, I knew the boy loves to read but I didn't realise he was that advanced!!!!! I am so thankful to the entire team of staffs at Stratford School Morgan Hill for the strong foundation, safe, fun and nurturing environment you create for children. If you're reading this review and you're contemplating if the tuition is worth it, I guarantee you it is money well spent and worth every penny because the gift of education is the best gift ever! If we move back to Morgan Hill, we will be sure to return to Stratford School! read more
