I needed a bit more info so he directed me to the manager Kelly, she spent a lot of time with me and I did get exactly what I needed. Not only did I find the jacket but on Sale - I have to say the Bonus of all of this was the knowledge Kelly shared with me. I learned a lot about coats and feel more informed. Both Kelly & Reese are great representatives for ED !! Way to go team!!

They do have a clearance section towards the back of the store, but most of the stuff there was actually past its best before date. If you love gourmet stinky cheeses, they had lots! As for me, I'll just stick to brie, harvati and other benign to the nose cheeses thank you very much ;) Fun store to poke around. Lots of free parking.

They have everything an upscale kitchen could need - from the tools to the groceries, including (but not limited to) spices - right down the pepper and salt mills, cheeses, chips, dishes, pots and pans, and top end coffee makers. I will definitely be back to try out the coffee shop in the corner. You need the rest that refreshes (coffee) after a stroll through this shop. What was I waiting for?? They had some very good sales - leftovers from Christmas. I picked up a mug for myself (which had the design of a scarf and mittens. What can I say? I'm a knitter!) and one of those stoneware cookie molds which came with a recipe. This was on sale at a good price; I've seen it at double that elsewhere in the city. Did you know that there's a difference in the mechanisms of a pepper and salt mills? Apparently the salt can rust and corrode a pepper mill, and the pepper is too hard for a salt mill. Whodathunk?! I actually went in looking for coffee pots. The ones we have at work have been seriously used and abused. I'm also feeling the need for an espresso or latté machine, and was hoping I might find one of those nifty combo things here. Turns out that the design I'm thinking of is a bit passé. Too bad for me! However, the good coffee makers they have here are too good for work (read: expensive), and could almost be professional, like for coffee shops. So, I will have to keep shopping. Yum. I've just gotta say this place was very inspiring!!

TL;DR/The Short Version: Ottawa's second T&T Supermarket…read more Smaller than the first, but still has lots of cool Asian products. The Long Version: This T&T Supermarket location is in Hazeldean Mall in Kanata. It's where the Laura's Your Independent Grocer used to be. It just opened at the end of October 2024. We went the beginning of November 2024 so it was still brand spanking new. I took my parents here to check it out and see how it compares with the other location on Hunt Club. Our consensus was this Kanata location is smaller with less selection than the original location. We were happy to visit and see what it's all about, but since the Hunt Club location is closer to us, we'll continue to go to that location instead. The bakery section at this Kanata location is much smaller, as is the prepared foods section. I also noticed that they use sesame seeds in a lot more of their sushi than the Hunt Club location. As someone who can't eat sesame seeds and can rarely buy prepackaged sushi, this made me sad. They have dim sum and Chinese BBQ and also an area to eat the food you purchase. It's good court style seating. I did notice their impressive selection of imported Lay's chips. Their selection was comparable to the other location in this regard. I doubt I will return unless I'm already in the area for another reason because it's far from my home and I rather go to the Hunt Club location, but I think it's great for Kanata residents. And it's breathing some much needed life into Hazeldean Mall. Lots of free parking in the mall parking lot. (200)

The only negative I would give to this store is that the aisles are a bit on the smaller side, and I can see this getting really busy. I went on a Thursday, it wasn't too busy but I was still having to navigate around people and bumping into a few others. I went with my toddler, who's two years old, and anyone over two pays the same price. I paid about $27 with tax for the both of us. They accept debit and credit. I found it expensive, but we had a good time and it's not a regular thing for us. If you'd like to go more often, they also have a Frequent Visitors Loyalty Program that includes 10 visits for the price of eight. You pay at the kiosk and then open the wooden gate to enter, but it swings back so it took me a couple of tries with the stroller before I did sort of a wheelie with it to use the front wheels to push the gate open. The farm has a park and play structures, play areas and photo ops, a tractor ride, a few picnic areas, little shop, and washrooms. They also have different farm animals, like goats you could feed, chickens, and sheep, as well as a pheasant, deers, and a couple of peacocks. There were definitely more animals, but my little guy was actually more into the park part so we didn't get to see all of the animals. There are also random statues of jungle animals that confused me, like zebras and giraffes, but my little one enjoyed the couple of statues of monkeys with hats at the front that you can sit on and take pictures with. One of the slides has one of those wooden suspension bridges and it's actually quite steep to get up, but has a big slide to go down that can fit both kids and adults. My guy did not wanna leave this one, especially after working so hard to climb up the bridge to get to the slide! Luckily, this is the kind of place where no one judges you for your children having tantrums and needing to leave kicking and screaming lol Definitely bringing actual food instead of snacks next time, and plan to spend more time here, maybe a few hours instead of one or two. Lots to see and do! I'd also love to try the tractor ride. It only runs every couple of hours but the first one was full and the next one went into nap time so we didn't get the chance to ride it.

Once upon a time, I used to go to Costco with my brother pretty regularly (he has a membership). It was part of our hanging out time, and I loved it. I remember once a few years ago I was in a mall and there was a kiosk set up to sell Costco memberships. They were giving out free stuff, so I had to stop and take a look, haha. The man asked me if I was a Costco member and I said no, but my brother was and he'd take me every week or two, so I was familiar with Costco. He told me if I got my own membership I could go anytime I wanted, but if going to Costco was this thing my brother and I did and it was our quality time together then I shouldn't get my own membership and just continue to go with my brother. I thought that was such a lovely thing to say. And he ended up giving me the free cookies or chocolate or whatever it was they were giving out anyway, lol. Well fast forward to present day and my brother is super busy with his kids, his work and other stuff and we haven't been to Costco together now for several years. He still goes regularly, but on his own right at opening on a weekend (he's on the other side of town, and I'm not an early bird, so I definitely don't go with him). He still buys me stuff when I ask him like Craisins, pumpkin seeds and almond butter (staples in my house), but I don't get to browse and see what's new in the warehouse. What precipitated me getting a membership, believe it or not, was a jar of avocado mayo. I love avocado mayo (I'm talking 100% of the oil used is avocado oil, not the Hellman's Avocado mayo that's mostly canola oil with a bit of avocado oil mixed in) but it's expensive as hell at grocery stores (like $15 for a tiny 355ml jar). When I saw in the Costco flyer that a 946ml jar was only $9.49 I immediately asked my brother to buy it for me. However, it's only available at regular Costcos and my brother only goes to the Costco Business Centre these days. What's an avocado mayo loving girl to do in this situation? Get her own Costco membership and buy a jar herself! My husband and I were in Kanata for an afternoon function, so we decided to head over to this Kanata Costco to buy a membership and the avocado mayo. We were served by Ziny at the Customer Service Desk, who was very courteous, informative and helpful. We got our memberships and headed into the warehouse. This location is smaller than most Costcos and their food court area is also very small. They don't have a gas station either. Anyway, we found the avocado mayo and it was even $0.50 less than advertised ($8.99). Score! We picked up a few other items too. They were giving out samples of various items, but most of them were either not of interest to me, or there were hoards of people crowding around. Now I like free stuff, but my dislike of crowds is stronger, so I kept going. I did manage to get a sample of some S'mores clusters ;) It was my first time at this Kanata Costco. I heard that the plan is to close it and open a new location at the Tanger Outlets that will be bigger and have a gas station. There is no timeline that I know of, and it's just what I heard, so not sure if it will happen. Anyway, that's my Costco story. This location is across from the Kanata Centrum. Employees are always kind at check out but I wish there were a few more on the floor. It's a big place and I can never find what I need the most! Things get moved around so much or get discontinued so if you see something great, buy it! Samples... ugh. I'm always hungry as I get so busy, I forget to eat. Yum. I love everything they serve. Unless egg or mayo related. Customers are usually friendly and one has to be understanding in this place as the shopping carts are huge! I love looking at seasonal items, avoid the sweets, clothing and books. And the cold rooms, brrr! I tend to buy all my paper products there and am addicted to their croissants. Sooo many in a batch tho so I like to give some away while fresh as they don't freeze well. I buy hamburger and cut it 4 times to freeze as I am an expert now at pasta sauce for my lasagna and chili. I bought recently a heated blanket I'm in love with and want another one but I think they are all gone now. I save a lot of $ buying Timmies kcups when on sale as those suckers are pricey anywhere else. All this writing about it, I'm starving and may go right now. Thanks a lot, Yelp!!!!! :)

One thing to note: Google gave their address as somewhere on the Main Street right in Smiths Falls, but they've moved to highway 15, south. They're in a Quonset hut, with not much else around them. Staff were friendly and helpful. Still watching their socials for other intriguing items.

When I was younger, I never liked coming here as I felt it was a cheap, cheap place. Well, no longer. The prices are on par with everywhere else now. Selection, not outstanding but it has the basics. I have 6, floor to ceiling windows to cover and this place was a lifesaver for curtain rod needs as well as curtain selections. Including the black out ones I like and the faux linen ones. There is always fun, seasonal items and parking is always plentiful. I really like the location. I don't buy clothes here but there are a few cute things to look at. You are forced to actually, as the store leads you through the clothing to get to anything else. But, shopping for bargains is a thing of the past and upon moving back from the US, I was sticker shocked. I'll still go in for canned goods, dog food and snacks. :) It's clean and employees upon check out are always available to help if needed.
